Property was lovely, a little bit tired but very clean and the gardens were really beautiful. The staff were amazing, very attentive and helpful. We were upgraded which felt like a real treat and then found a voucher for 50% off specific treatments in our room as we were the ‘lucky room’ which was a really lovely surprise to have! The grounds were great and it’s so close to the centre of bath. Google maps said 20 min walk but if you cut through the middle park opposite it is more 10/15 mins

beautiful setting and lovely grounds, parking available, very nice pool and lounging area and good spa, short walk into Bath. The bedroom was comfortable and stylish with water, tea and coffee provided

the only problem we encountered was the breakfast which was shambolic. we were asked if we would like toast and replied yes please but it never arrived even though we asked several times! my coffee was full of grounds as the cafetière was broken, again I had to ask several times for replacement coffee and a fresh cup. the cooked breakfast was ok but not great.we mentioned this to the receptionist on checking out but he was very monosyllabic and didn’t seem interested, no apology was forthcoming and we left on a low note!

I have stayed at the Bath Macdonald Spa Hotel several times and always come away feeling relaxed and energised.

I do feel the quality of the breakfast has gone down hill in recent times and the spa and swimming pool needs major refurbishment.

This is a beautiful hotel , cannot fault it terms of cleanliness, beautiful rooms , friendly staff & great spa facilities. However we stayed here a couple of years ago and i do feel it’s getting rather overpriced now . The breakfast is extortionate for what you get ! We didn’t include breakfast in our stay & paid at the hotel & it was £20pp for a basic continental breakfast. If you wanted a cooked breakfast it was £26pp. My mum & partner included the breakfast when they booked the room & it only cost them an extra £9 more than what we payed for our room. We also had 4 coffees there which came to £24 it was £5 per cup but they had put a service charge on each cup of a £1 each. So £6 per cup!!! When I’m paying good money to stay in a hotel I don’t expect to have to pay service charge on coffees I feel good service is included in the price of your stay! We wont be staying here again.

Service was outstanding, very helpful and engaged with regard to booking, restaurant and facility management.

I booked a whole body massage for myself and my 2 daughters who are both in their 20's.as a treat. I had not had a massage before they had. They both reported excellent treatment and felt wonderful afterwards. My masseur was young and I felt went through the motions, explained little and I felt, was very dismissive in her explanation of the process which did not alleviate my trepidation. I was last in and first out and had a very different level of treatment when compared with the areas and treatment to my girls. Not the most relaxing or enjoyable experience. 30 years as a clinician my expectation of care were considerably higher than this on young lady proffered which was really sad as everything else was so wonderful.

Room was comfortable and spacious. Spa pool was very good and the grounds were beautiful. Breakfast in the room. Hotel is within walking distance of the city centre and you can park your car easily in the spacious car park. The staff were all very friendly & helpful.

Checking in/out system needs to be sharpened up as there were lots of very unhappy looking clients in a long queue waiting to check in and check out. We were very lucky and seem to have missed the queues fortunately. Warners use a much more slick system. Whole hotel needs closing for a spruce up eg painting, decorating, woodwork replacing etc as it is looking rather tired. Our bathroom badly needed painting, re grouting etc.Not a five star because of the need for decoration.

The lovely room we had and the extremely comfortable bed. The grounds were very nice and the location meant we had some peace as soon as entering the hotel lobby. The spa and pool were so lovely to spend time in, especially the spa which was so warm making the contrast with the cool weather very pleasurable. We enjoyed the coffee machine in the room too and the specialty biscuits provided.

I did not like the restaurant very much. I only had breakfast each morning, the standard was not high and I left most of it, but I happily made do with the toast and fruit and coffee served. The restaurant was very elegant, the staff friendly enough but the quality made us decide to eat in town each night.

Our room overlooked the gardens at the front and had a scenic view of all of Bath. The hotel itself is very nice, traditional looking but well kept. The staff and cleaners were very nice too.

The only thing that we didn’t like was the upkeep of the outside pool and pool area. The outside pool itself is so inviting with its hot water and jets along the one side, but the inner tiled walls are dirty and mouldy. The patio area around the pool could look so nice but looks neglected and uncared for. With a little imagination this area could be a big attraction and it is a such a shame

First visit in twenty five years to celebrate significant birthdays. Delighted by spacious room which was nicely furnished: quality traditional bathroom, really comfortable king size bed and effective air-conditioning for 33C outside temperature ! Spa facilities perfect to relax in between walking into beautiful Bath and the long lounge and adjacent seating area around courtyard fountain wonderful to fully relax. Staff helpful and for our special day a nice touch to decorate room and have welcoming card and small chocolate box. Breakfast/ dining room superb with high Georgian ceilings, chandelier, plants and full length windows looking over a courtyard. Parking provision ample.

Sunday breakfast service appeared to be quite stretched but personnel working hard.

Although breakfast was nice having to ask for toast and having to wait for it to be cooked was inconvenient . Toast isn’t on the regular breakfast choice. I also always have de-caf tea which I had to request individual tea bags. Also when at the Roman baths had missed calls from the hotel to come back and change rooms as apparently our toilet was leaking water to the room underneath. We couldn’t see it in our bathroom . Plumbing system assuming not great. Changed rooms for second night but had to pack everything up to move across the corridor.
