Lovely, just lovely! This guest house is not on a main strip, so it is quiet. I walked to it with rolling luggage from the railway station which was relatively easy to do, but don't expect the house to be super close; you'll need a little stamina for the walk (especially with luggage). Great breakfast buffet and pleasant staff (Brigette)! I chose this guest house because of its aesthetics, and I was not disappointed. This room has a single bed which was not uncomfortable but not luxurious either. No ac but there was an oscillating floor fan that saved the day (I arrived in August, so it was a bit warm). The backyard garden is divine.

The shower enclosure (in the shared bath) was exceptionally small, and the sinks in the shared bath as well as my room all have separate hot and cold faucets which, while quaint, is a bit impractical nowadays. The price seemed high when I compared it to where I stayed in London a week later; there I did not share a bathroom and the room had ac. That said, if you are looking for great aesthetics and not overly concerned with price, then the Kennard is wonderful.

For me it’s all about the little things that a hotel offers, and the Kennard definitely had lots of these. From the moment we arrived even before getting on our room, there was water available on arrival and sweets. We were greeted by the lovely owner (I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name), who made us feel very welcomed. She explained about the mini bar and also the fact there was free ice available… on a day where it was 35 degrees, this was a god send! In our room again it had lots of little extras such as a sleep kit, robes, body wash, shampoo, a fan (again a god send), home made biscuits and just a general cosy vibe. As the weather was so hot I was worried about the room being too hot as you tend to find this in hotels, however we were surprised. It had a black out blind which kept the sun out, and with the fan this kept the room nice and cool. Location was perfect, less than a 5min walk to the nearest shops and restaurants. I honestly have nothing bad to say about the hotel.

This B&B was a favorite on our two week trip through England. The property has a great location in Bath, close to restaurants, sites and located on a quiet calm street. The staff was so helpful, kind and made our stay feel very easy and quaint. The breakfast was delicious, many amenities are offered and the rooms were very clean and well decorated.

There is no lift in the building so just be aware that luggage needs to be carried up the many stairs to get to your room! The only other complaint was the temperature in our room, we had 2 big windows with a lot of natural light that made the room quite hot even at night; the staff had 2 fans already provided in the room to help with this.

The Kennard is a very nice and authentic building, very cosy and nicely furnished. The bed is comfortable and the room has all the essentials. The bathroom is functional even if it's a bit tiny. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly, you can have a pleasant chat when arriving and they help you with anything you need, including indications for parking. The position of the hotel is great, a minute walk from the city centre and convenient to access all the city landmarks.

The only negative aspect of the stay was that the room was cold. Heating was off when we arrived, and the single heater of the room was not powerful enough to warm it quickly, also because the big window of the room was not very isolated and cold air filtered through it. The bed had good sheets and extra blankets, so we didn't suffer cold through the night. However, a warmer room would have been better, especially if you need to spend a couple of hours in it not only while sleeping.

The hotel far exceeded my expectations with a very clean and thoughtfully decorated room, and lots of space for 3 guests. I noticed that a lot of care was put into preparing the space for 3 people, which was very much appreciated. I also had unique circumstances in that we had a lot of gear and luggage — and someone in our party had to find space for a last-minute work call in the middle of the night. The hotel staff were very kind in letting us use a common space, and overall could not have been more helpful with whatever we needed. Also, there was an excellent breakfast and a beautiful garden in the back that I wish we could have had more time to enjoy. Thanks for everything!

The design of the place was great. The room was small but had what you needed. You got a robe and slippers in the room too which was a great touch. Staff were lovely & breakfast was a simple continental set up but beautifully done & no hassle. Checking in & out was easy.

There were only a couple of things that came to mind. It was very bright in the room even with the blind down, so unfortunately I did awake quite early. However they do provide a sleep mask in the room, I just don't find them the easiest to sleep in. The side cupboard door was hanging on by one hinge so I was very precautious with it & the hair dryer didn't seem to work, which wasn't much of a deal for me but just a mention.

The location was ideal... 10 minutes or so away from the town centre. Very comfortable compact room and bed, noting a small double not a full size double (an observation, not a complaint). Not too hot or cold; we slept well. A very appreciated touch of some small easter eggs waiting for us in the room when we got there. And the water/biscuits... Little touches that were appreciated. Though I neglected to inform them the day before that we would be there outside of reception opening times (I emailed morning of the day of arrival), there was no fuss in sending an alternative pass code and having the keys available to us for when we turned up. Nice touch with the water and humbugs in the reception area 🙂. I got the impression that this is a professional and cared for service. Yes, we had a lovely experience. Thank you.

Shower pressure a little weak... Noting we were in a room in the top floor. Again, not something to complain about but an observation...

The room was comfy and beds exceptionally so . There was a problem in that the shower head kept slipping and the bathroom light was temperamental . The breakfast was nice but would have liked at least one hot option while weather was so cold. The location was great just a short walk from the busy centre

As stated above a hot option for breakfast would have been nice . The reception seemed to be empty a lot and while there was a number to contact . I think should have been someone available in person more often

My room was upgraded and it was a beautiful room! Fabulous breakfast with great quality food and the staff were really good and very helpful

The room was very cold when I arrived but there were 2 heaters in the room which helped and an extra blanket in the wardrobe which I put on the bed. There was a problem with the internet while I was there but that was not down to the staff... inconvenient for all. There didn't seem to be any staff around late afternoon and evening. A sign on Reception giving a phone number to call if needed - as a woman there on my own I felt a bit vulnerable because of this- however, I would definitely recommend the Kennard and will certainly go there again!

I had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse in Bath, London. The building itself has a charming historic feel, like stepping back in time, yet the rooms are well-equipped with modern comforts. The staff were incredibly helpful and always greeted me with warm smiles, making the experience even more enjoyable. One of the highlights of my stay was the shortbread in the room service—absolutely the best I've ever had! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that one of the lovely staff members makes them herself, and she was kind enough to share the recipe with me. This personal touch made my stay truly special. Highly recommend this guesthouse for anyone looking for a blend of history, comfort, and outstanding hospitality!
