This hotel oozes old world charm and is so steeped in history. Just sitting in the reading room and being surrounded by pictures of the famous people who have stayed gives a feeling of privilege. I felt the hotel was well kept in spite of its age and it was nice and warm. The breakfast choice was one of the best I've experienced with a variety of fresh fruit such as 3 choices of melon, mixed fruit salads, granolas and yoghurts. Fresh poached eggs cooked to order too. Okay some of the bathrooms might be small but they were at the time the hotel was built, it is all part of the heritage. If you want all the "mod cons" go and book a sanitised stay at a Hilton
Nothing, the staff went out of their way to help us at all times and were very accommodating.

Firstly, thank you so much to all the staff for such an enjoyable stay! When we walked into the hotel, we were wowed by the grander of the building, with it's art deco features and panelling. Check in was a breeze, although our room was not ready at the time we checked in, but that didn't matter. We decided to check out the No 10 Bar, which was so cozy and good value for money. Once our room was ready, we decided not to use the lift and walk up the stairs to the 3rd floor. As we walked through the building, it was clear that this hotel is a really old girl and to be honest, the negative reviews only amplify how this is a grade 2 listed building and that work on the building is limited. She may be very old but remember, the Hotel is limited to what it can do, due to it's listed status. We got to the room and the Housekeeper had just finished servicing our room. We walked in and realised how cosy the room really was. We got a very comfy double bed, bedside tables, wall lights either side of the bed, a TV, a desk, a phone (which sadly didn't work!) plus chairs and a bath!!!!!! I live in a flat with a shower and have not had a bath in 2 and a half years and really enjoyed a really really hot soak. There was also a iron, safe and tea and coffee making facilities. We slept so well on the Egyptian Cotton Sheets under the thick dovet and woke up the next morning for Breakfast. What can I say about Breakfast... Well it was amazing. A selection of fruits, cereal, pancakes, toast and a cooked option. Plus you could go up as many times as you want. Plus we had a pot of coffee to ourselves too. That evening, we decided to have dinner in the Palm Court Restaurant. It was table service and was very reasonable for 2 people for 3 courses. I had the smoked Maceral, followed by the Shoulder of Lamb and then Icecream for desert. The staff, (as were all the staff throughout the hotel) were very attentive and polite.
Nothing. Everything was just as it should be. I can't complain! :)

Myself and my husband are just home from a week's stay at the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool and what a great time we had. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Yes, some people might say it's a bit 'dated', but that adds to the charm of it. The room we had was huge and very clean. There was a hairdryer, iron, ironing board and a safe all in the wardrobe. There was also a TV and a tray with a kettle and everything you needed to make a cup of tea or hot chocolate. We went with the bed, breakfast and evening meal option. If dinner was anything to go by, the breakfast must have been out of this world (I didn't get up in time for breakfast - I'll blame it on my medication hmm) but dinner was great. There was a great choice of starters, mains and desserts. (I was addicted to the sticky banana pudding with pecan ice-cream). Everything was cooked to perfection and the staff looked after you and made sure you had everything you wanted. Big shout out to Fatima (she was the only one that I never got a chance to say cheerio to). The other servers were fantastic too. Some staff in other hotels I've been in could learn a thing or two from these guys...top marks to them all, not forgetting Tristan in reception. Tristan was very knowledgeable and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. We would recommend the Imperial Hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay with great staff and amazing food! Roll on next year........we'll be back!
Nothing not to like.

We always enjoy staying at this hotel, although there are a few areas which need updating you have to remember the splendour of this 1867 Hotel in all its Granger All of the staff are professional friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We did have a few issues at check-in which was not the hotels fault more through Booking.com, but the hotel dealt with it extremely fast.
The only negative I would’ve had this time is a lengthy check-in weight of about 40 minutes as rooms weren’t ready and coach parties that had checked out that day were still occupying a reception area so there was nowhere to sit and wait for the new guests. Due to the weather the hotel this time was extremely warm and even with windows open not much ventilation even with radiators turned off but I’d rather it be too warm than too cold

Excellent location, staff super on reception and in restaurant. Good offer for drinks package taken up. Car park large and reasonably priced.
Rooms a bit dated and in need of tlc. Moved rooms but the heated towel rail could not be turned off, making it uncomfortably hot. Entertainment was disappointing, moved to the Lancaster Suite, not well promoted to guests. Wedding reception meant the normal room adjacent to the bar could not be used. Friday night entertainment was cancelled. Just 10 people in on Saturday night..the second act commented that he could have performed at home. A shame as both acts were good.

I loved everything about the hotel room was smaller than i was used to this was my third visit and just thought the twin rooms were all the same size
My sister, who i travelled with is a vegetarian. The food for her was not the best. One of the starters was oyster mushroom on sour dough bread she was given an old school style pudding bowl full of mushrooms thst looked like meat and tasted like liver with two pieces of the hardes bread i have ever encountered. She had another dish that was a wellington the first time she had this it was lovely made with care the second it was just thrown together with big lumps of carrots or sweet potstoes in it. As for the tomatoe tart starter a 2 year old could have made it..so maybe not the best place if your vegetarian.

Great location on the North side of Blackpool; close enough to all amenities, but also a quiet part of the town to relax. The hotel is beautiful and a great example of a luxury Victorian hotel. We informed the hotel before arriving we were booking for a special occasion and they upgraded us to the Windsor Suite, a really kind gesture and more than appreciated. It was great reading about the history of the hotel, famous visitors, and rooms such as the Dickens suite which was next door to our room, Churchill Suite, and Royal Suite. The food was good, staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. You can understand why the Imperial Hotel has been a popular location for many years and how luxurious it must have been in times gone by.
It took a little while longer to check in than you’d expect (almost 40 minutes) and we had to wait for our room to be ready well after the stated 15:00 time, however, as we’d been upgraded we cannot complain.

We are frequent visitors to The Imperial, but this time they excelled themselves in terms of room 335--it was spacious comfortable bed, good shower and breakfast was varied and excellent. Parking is £10 per night but provides peace of mind. All staff were cheerful and polite, which enhanced our stay. TO BOOKING.COM--in my last review of The Livermead Cliff,Torquay my review has been "doctored" on the mobile phone version ie the positive points have been included, but negatives(and there were quite a few) were deleted. This is unfair and does not give a balanced view of the hotel--I always try to give a fair and balanced opinion.
Nothing at all.

Breakfast was very good, staff were very friendly and a comfortable bed to sleep in. The location is superb, an easy walk into the centre. The bulding looks imposing from the street, and we enjoyed our stay there.
I wouldn't say I disliked this, but the room we had could have been a little bigger. That being said, it was perfectly acceptable. The water on our floor went off on the saturday afternoon, and the staff dealt with it very professionally. They gave us another room key, so we could have a shower, and by the time we returned in the evening, the issue was fixed, so they dealt with the situation very well. The one thing that did annoy me is the parking charge. I'm aware that Blackpool can be hard to park, but at least hide the charge in the room rates, it's all about perception, people don't like the idea of being charged extra, even though they probably are.
