I loved the friendly staff who made me feel very welcome, once they let me into the building. The meal I had was the best skewered chicken I have ever eaten. I also loved the coleslaw and the beautiful delicate fries. A ceiling fan in this hot weather was a godsend too. The other people in the venue were welcoming and friendly too. It felt like a home from home. It's a shame its so far from my home because I'd love to go back there to enjoy the company and the food. I was also very lucky to have a DJ night on the night of my stay, other folk might not expect this. I understand they have karaoke on Saturdays too.

I loved the firm mattress when lying down but when sitting up the springs were just a bit too close for comfort.

Very friendly staff, lovely pub, great food, friendly locals. Clean room that has clearly recently been redecorated and refitted.

No parking, quite a rough area so ask to put motorcycles in the courtyard. Room facilties were good but a few things weren't thought out very well auch as a ceiling fan that can't be turned off and got very hot. TV stand had been bodged and was a liability and the absorption fridge made the room very hot even though the weather was cool. Can get noisy on a Friday and Saturday night, but it is a pub and this didn't bother me!

As a solo traveller, whilst the room was small as others have mentioned, it was absolutely great for me! Drawers for my clothes, everything was super clean, mini fridge in the room which was fab, coffee in the room - had everything I needed! Was super close to Uni which was a pleasant walk and lovely to come back to the pub and have a chilled drink before going back to the room. Being so close to a local shop was great as well! Thank you, will definitely book again. Oh and the shower - amazing! Great pressure and hot!! Thank you!

The staff were friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was hard and I thought I would struggle to sleep, but it was great, had a very good sleep in the end. Very happy with the accommodation. Very thoughtful leaving bottles of water in reception. You can see the owner is an organised and practical person and they have a passion for the industry. The little detail, lights above the room number is a nice touch. The common area is in need of some tender loving care. Assume this is due to people coming in and out with suitcases and scuffing the walls. But the room was very clean and look newly refurbished. Great find! I will use this accommodation again.

The parking was a bit iffy, I parked in front of someone house. I was a little uncomfortable with it but parked as sensibly as possible.

Wonderful staff, great pub atmosphere. There was no food on site, so for the evening meal, we popped next door to the local takeaway and for breakfast, there's a cafe called Hayley's Cafe (BN2 4PD) excellent service.

Parking is on street parking (albeit on designated part of foot paths) need to check for match days as you will need a permit, which I think the pub can provide. The Web site shows as opening at 2 pm, but when i got there I was told 4 pm but check-in is from 3 pm. The room I had was compact, which for a single night isn't too bad. All in all, not a bad place to stay for a night or two.

Perfect for an away fan going to a matcb at the Amex. Landlady relaxed the rule around kids out by 8am for a guest of the hotel. Short walk to the stadium and the train station for a short ride to the middle of brighton

There wasnt a specifc place to park the car but we paid the pub for a parking permit. But left at the mercy of the local estate - which seemed friendly to be fair and this was advertised

We had a lovely stay at RUBY. The room was on the small-side but very comfortable and had everything we would need for a short trip to Brighton. RUBY is extremely well connected to the city so it doesn't matter at all that you are a bit further off the city, in fact it is better as you are away from the weekend crowds which we really appreciated. Buses are often and you can pay contactless. Staff was very helpful and we definitely recommend stopping at the pub for a pint!

Location was great. Staff was great. Seems like a family business and i like to support A near buy restaurant and a supermarket.

If you are a person like me who sleeps early, they do have a pup which they stop playing music at 9:00 pm. That is just me.

The bathroom was good with an excellent shower. The room was clean, the TV worked and the tea and coffee facilities were good.

I would only say that shoehorning a double bed into a room barely big enough to take a single was ambitious to say the least.
