Nice hotel

We stayed at the Holiday inn on Friday 18th to Sunday 20th April. Our room at the holiday Inn was lovely as well as the staff. It was good but the only negative thing during the weekend was the breakfast which was not very nice. On Saturday morning, the sausage had a very strange taste. The bacon was so hard that when I tried to cut it, it cracked! It was solid hard. On Sunday morning the sausage was a lot better but the bacon was exactly the same, hard and cracked. In addition, there was only scrambled egg available for both Sat and Sun. Not much choice as one would expect from a Holiday Inn Hotel. When I went to the Holiday Inn in Swindon, the breakfast was so much better and varied.

Love the fact holiday inn was in the perfect location for our stay. Staff were super friendly everytime we seen them. We needed an extra duvet for one of the beds and extra towels and it was absolutely no trouble at all when we requested what we needed. Breakfast was absolutely spot on every morning, very tasty!

The only issue was one of the beds was very hard to sleep on hence the extra duvet request to make it softer for a disabled person. Also the air conditioning didn't work properly at all so we did find at night being on the 3rd floor we was very very warm and sweaty.

The staff are exceptional. Friendly. Professionally 'present' and always polite. Parking is generous. The public rooms are clean and spacious. My bedroom was spotless. Breakfast well stocked despite a party of 80 at peak time. Tables cleared and cleaned quickly. An understanding team of staff and management. I've stayed here many times. And will do so again. Exceptional customer care and service 10/10

Children not being properly supervised by their parents despite the efforts from staff to ensure safety of ALL guests and the children. Not the best night's sleep because of the antics of touring teams of excitable rugby boys with corridor bulldog, door knocking and hide and seek whilst parents sat/stood in the bar. I've stayed here many times before. There often has been large sports groups. First time ever that my sleep was disturbed by other guests. However, the hotel can't be responsible or accountable for the supervision of guests unruly children.

Bedroom, bathroom and communal spaces were all clean. The choice for breakfast was excellent. The location was excellent for my appointment the following morning. Convenient proximity to the pub opposite for evening meal.

The system for paying the parking charge; waving a mobile at a QR code mounted half way up a lamp post in the dark is not easy for those who are not tech-savvy. The payment machine by the front door was easy to use and its existence should have been made clearer to all guests, particularly those parking far away from it. Rock hard pillows should not be the default provision; the option to have had softer pillows should have been made easier. How many guests actually like the hard pillows? Do you know?

At this price I was expecting a much more basic stay, but everything was bright, clean and I slept very well as it was so quiet. The staff were all helpful and friendly, I am very happy with everything and will definitely come again should my work bring me that way, and I will look for the same hotel in other areas too. The breakfast was also hot and filling.

I could have used an EV charger, but there are loads in the area so it wasn't a huge deal id just prefer to plug in and relax ready for the morning with a full battery.

Good location with easy access to link roads leading to various parts of the city and with major stores on retail parks within a couple of minutes drive. Vehicle registration was easy, with an unmissable facility for doing so at the entrance and with a reasonable charge of £5 per day. Booking in was simple, and the staff on reception were faultless, friendly, and professional - a credit to the hotel. The room on the ground floor was spacious and well heated, with an adjustable thermostat plus a portable heater. It was comfortable with a small sofa bed and table, well lit, with a larger than usual hotel t.v. on the wall, and importantly, good noise suppression from the constant traffic a short distance away. There was no outside noise, little internal noise, and no banging of doors. A spacious shower room with a large double shower topped off the room. Very pleased. Breakfast was chaotic! No fault of the hotel or the staff, though. Just the number of guests to and fro-ing with plates and drinks - perhaps it was just a busy weekend. The choice of food and drink on the help yourself buffet appeared to be limitless, with every conceivable taste catered for and far too much to list. It was very good and far exceeded many of the hotels I've stayed in for leisure or for work. Finally, it's often the little things that ice the cake, and the hotel even offer to supply you with any of the little things you may have forgotten to pack. Well recommended.

I feel a little mean in mentioning such a petty thing, but, two tiny round knobs in the shower room to hang towels and clothes seem inadequate with the towels slipping off - hooks would've been better.

The room was well prepared, the sofa bed was made up and the right amount of towels were ready and available. The dog treat bag was an excellent bonus 😁

The area near the left side of the bed was dirty, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while. The toilet side of the shower is in need of repair and looks unsightly. In the morning while heading to breakfast, I asked if I was able to take our dog into the breakfast area and was told it was fine. After a while I was told by another member of staff that the dog wasn't allowed in the food area, which is fine, but Luma is a support dog which wasn't asked or taken into consideration. It would be helpful to put a sign outside of the food area to notify people of the rules.

My room had everything I needed for an overnight stay. It was quiet and the bed very comfortable. The bar menu was varied, chicken curry was great as was my glass of malbec. All the staff were extremely helpful. I wanted to stay overnight near to Southmead Hospital and I'm really pleased I chose the Holiday Inn Express at Filton.

I didn't like the parking payment machine.. it didn't recognise my registration. Even though it's nothing to do with the hotel a member of the Reception staff came out to help me. Somehow I managed to enter a leaving time of 10.30 at night the following day instead of 10.30 in the morning so I ended up paying £10 instead of £5. But after a long day at the hospital I didn't have the will to challenge it.

First of all, and most importantly, all the staff we encountered were welcoming, smiling and keen to help. Loved the extras like ironing board, free toiletries if forgotten, snacks in Reception area and breakfast included (very rare nowadays as most hotels try and charge £10 per person). Bed was very comfortable, slept really well and location was perfect as we were visiting our son at UWE Frenchay campus. Had everything we needed in the room and a nice bonus is the excellent pub opposite the Inn. Booked the Holiday Inn Express as it was the cheapest option in the area at the time but it was definitely great value for money plus the benefits mentioned above.

Only confusing thing was the payment for parking. It’s actually a very reasonable £5 per night/stay but the online screen should perhaps show 24 hour times to make it easier to understand. Very minor detail.

The room was clean and comfortable. Our bed was comfortable being a double. Would prefer a king size when next refurbished. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very nice for the cost of stay over the weekend. Parking location good and cheaper through meter at front door. Thank you will stay again when next in Bristol.

We’re not big people but would prefer king size bed which we didn’t have on ground floor room. It maybe other rooms have this which we could ask for next time.
