From entering the building to leaving, everything was exceptional. Let me explain why. We were greeted with a warm, friendly greeting from who we later found out was the owner of the business. We were shown up to our room ( Anne) all the rooms are named after queen's. The room was a large double room with onsuite. All facilities are available from hairdryer to tea and coffee. We had booked a table for our evening meal. The food was all homemade, good-sized portions, and cooked to perfection. It was nice to be in a bar where there wasn't any TV or music blaring so people could talk. Drinks were perfect as well. Nice to have a real ale pub. Bed was comfortable. We had a great nights sleep. We went down for breakfast, which has a large selection of cereals to choose from. We had the full English with both tea and coffee. The food is cooked fresh every morning by the owner, so please wait patiently as the wait is worth it. Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. The price for our whole weekend was a lot less than we were expecting just because of the standard, I was amazed it was as cheap as it was. We will be booking again later in the year this time for longer and with friends. It's definitely worth staying at. Just for the owner, we loved the tomatoes ( she will understand). Thank you for making us feel more like family than just guests.

Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Located in a peaceful village away from major trunk roads. Well signposted and easy to find with ample car parking. After friendly welcome we were shown to an absolutely spotless room / bathroom. Beds very comfy. Although ,on Saturday, the bar was busy our room was quiet and also well insulated from othedr let rooms. Breakfast was very good with quality produce and excellent service and endless coffee!. Would stay here again without question.

A continental breakfast option.

Lovely little village off the beaten track. Staff very accommodating and helpful. They contacted me a week before our stay to tell us the room we had booked would not be available. We had the options of a small twin room at a reduced rate or they would try and find another place to stay. We chose the smaller room because we were with family. The food was excellent with a good choice.

The room was small but we were told that prior to attending. We would normally expect toiletries of a certain standard in the room. There was an open bottle of hand wash on the sink and open bottle of Radox in the shower.

Such a lovely yet convenient location, loved walking in for our evening meal to find a table had been reserved and a fire was lit. We were taken up to our room, such a nice touch. The room was light, airy spacious and warm, lovely view too. Very comfy beds and 2 chairs! Such a luxury, we could both sit down. Super bathroom, the shower was ace and lovely clean white towels. The evening meal was scrumptious, I had the lamb chops were superb - the memories of which will live with me for a long time. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his wagyu burger. And the bread and butter pudding was a taste sensation. We had a great night’s sleep and the breakfast did not disappoint, plenty of it, all cooked freshly to order and a great pot of tea. The staff were lovely.

Nothing, we really enjoyed our stay

This is a wonderful slice of England, a lovely old inn, with rooms in a tiny village off the beaten track. The owners are delightful and nothing is too much trouble. The food is fantastic, especially the Steak & Ale Pie and the Breakfast is cooked to order and served hot, with good quality produce. For warm days there is a lovely beer garden and the bar is popular with locals. Rooms are what you expect from a country inn with a large screen TV and we had a full bath and shower.

Nothing, it was a lovely 2 night stay.

I arrived early and the owner let me drop my bags off as the Inn was already open. He was wonderfully helpful. The room was exceptionally clean and well appointed. The bathroom was great with a big bath (and Radox!) The atmosphere is great in the bar. The food was gorgeous. We had a lovely breakfast that set us up for the day. We had our evening meals here. The food was extremely tasty. The area is beautiful. We had a walk around the village and I went to the local reservoir too. It's close to Harrogate too

This is one of those places where you can feel the owners take considerable pride in really maximising and caring about their guests' experience. It's a family run business and it shows. For example, we arrived after food serving hours (because our car had broken down) but Louise asked us if we were hungry and made sandwiches and chips for us especially - like you would family! The bed was huge and very comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean, quiet and well equipped - again clearly there had been thought put into what any guest might need. I had the best night's sleep in a long time! Breakfast was great (full English plus cereal and toast) and the recommendation for a local garage extremely helpful! Thank you for a extremely pleasant stay. We will return at some point with a fixed car, so we can explore the beautiful area surrounding the Queen's Head like we had originally planned!

All fantastic!

The food was amazing, we had an evening meal the night of our stay and my husband said the wagyu burger was the best burger he's ever tasted. Breakfast was served quickly after ordering and was amazing. The venue itself is lovely and cosy, very inviting and a lovely atmosphere. Our room was very cosy, warm and clean, plenty of tea and coffee and other drinks options like peppermint tea and hot chocolate sachets which I thought was a nice touch. All the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We will definitely stay here again

The only thing we have to complain about is the bed was a little hard for our liking

Lovely quiet location in a pretty village but still only about 20 minutes drive to all amenities of Harrogate. Our host was so friendly and professional - she made us feel very welcome. We stayed in Jane and had 2 excellent nights sleep. Large comfortable beds. Good Wifi. Lots of parking. There was an extensive bar menu and the food we had both nights plus the breakfasts were superb. We would definitely return.

One small thing is that the first night was very warm - I think our room was directly above the restaurant (no noise though which was great). We left the window open during the day and the second night was perfect. Just a really tiny thing though and all down to personal preference.

The location is great being out in the countryside. A very small village and very clean. Landlady and family and staff were very helpful caring and considerate. The breakfasts were great and included in price. Also serve lunches and evening meals which are delicious and have a good choice. Its a family run pub off the beaten track but don't let that put you off. It has a big car park and is bigger than you think with enough room outside for entertainment in summer. We are definitely going back. Its not far from Harrogate Skipton RHS Harlow Carr Knaresborough. Bolton Abbey and Fountains Abbey. Also excellent for walks nearby. We saw plenty of ramblers. .
