The room was spacious, had all the facilities you would need, the walk in shower was awesome and the bedding felt like luxury quality ...we had a great night's sleep ...helped along by a couple of very fancy cocktails from the hotel bar...the staff were all very helpful, smiles from all of them which gave the lobby and bar a very welcoming feel....but I've saved the best till last.....breakfast was top notch , so much variety , all laid on beautifully and the bonus of a late check out is that you can take time to really enjoy it and have a little bit of everything....we will defo be back 😀

Location was ideal. Only a short walk to the shops and the nightlife. Also close to the docks. Had breakfast included which was great. Lots of choice on the buffet and they served from 8am until 11am so still had the option for a lie in! Really good late check out available too of 12pm.

Room looked a little tired. Lighting was poor in the room but there were plenty of sockets for phone chargers etc. Also had iron, ironing board and hairdryer available in room. The fridge in the room was very poorly stocked. Only had one bottle of water available. There was a kettle and tea and coffee facilities. The shower leaked badly. Reported to reception but they had no rooms available to change to and as it was Saturday there was no maintenance available until Sunday afternoon which was after our check out.

great location , nice hotel , great bar area , breakfast was excellent for the first 2 days , 3rd day Saturday morning , there were more people staying at the hotel and staff were running around seemed to be no organization had to wait 20mins for the bacon tray to be re-filled when i questioned a member of staff was told chef was busy doing egg orders ? surely you keep on top of your staple stuff as more people were waiting the busier the restaurant became leading to staff running around everywhere , being a manager of 17 staff myself looked like it just needed a bit of a cool head to sort things out as staff were doing the same jobs , advice would be give staff designated areas on busy days i.e. 2 clean floor and tables one replenishing fruits and yogurts 1 on bread and pastries and the rest doing special orders and replenishing all items hot food items this would take away what seemed to be chaos at times and avoid long waiting times

The location was excellent. We could walk from the station and yet we were also within range of the waterfront and the shops easily. There was a good choice of restaurants very close by. The breakfast was good with a wide range to choose from as well as a few extras cooked to order. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was always someone available. The bed was very comfortable. The toiletries were wonderful. The original features retained in the hotel are splendid.

The restaurant menu didn’t suit our tastes but we were able to find others close by that did. My husband was a bit concerned about the sliding door shutting off the toilet area but it worked ok, though we felt you had to be a bit careful

The building was stunning inside, the lobby was gorgeous. The rooms were nice and bright, tall ceilings and loads of room to walk around in without being on top of one another. Location was spot on, central to everything. Breakfast was fabulous with loads of options for everyone who stopped. However the best thing about this trip was the staff at the hotel, they could not do more for you. Always attentive, up for a chat and a laugh and overall ensuring we had the best stop. The two on the front desk (sorry did not catch their names) on the 28/02 & 01/03 were amazing. Then Jaclyn and Dave of a night time were amazing hosts after we had come in for a night cap or two.

The bathroom needed its light fixtures cleaning and around the base of the tap also. But overall extremely happy.

Location very good as we had a show booked at m and s arena about a 20 min walk,staff very helpful and friendly,also checkout is at 12 what I liked saturday and sunday breakfast is on till 11 am no rushing,breakfast is plentiful lots to choose also some items made to order

We had something to eat in the bar area after waiting 30 mins my husband went to ask where our meal was they came back with an answer another 10 to 20 mins the order had only just gone through we had a show to go to did'nt have alot of time it did arrive in time but not sure what had gone on we were offered a drink but as we had to rush off after eating didn't except waitress was apologetic maybe have more staff on would still book the hotel again

Front desk staff where very helpful, I booked the room last minute due to another hotel messing up my booking. I booked this room in a hurry and selected the wrong month. March not February. I changed the booking through the booking.com app in 30 seconds and the staff gave me a free upgrade to a king size bed as they had rooms spare.

The breakfast was a bit lack luster. I have never been a fan of large amounts of ingredients left under a lukewarm calosh. The continental breakfast was very nice. The attention to detail in the cleaning of the room missed the hair pins and toenail clippings of the previous customer. Was charged two very different prices for the same drink at the bar. One member of staff charged £35 for a double 10yo tallisker. Second night different staff member £13.50 for a double 10yo tallisker and a bottle of sparkling water.

Location is excellent: the hotel is 2 minutes away from The Cavern and Castle St, in an area teeming with music joints and restaurants, and is only 5 minutes away from the Waterfront, Albert Dock and The Three Graces. The building is a gorgeous turn of the century landmark. Kind and helpful staff.

There are a few details that should be taken into account to heighten guest comfort: 1. The towels are really small. 2. There should be proper glasses in the vanity instead of plastic cups. 3. More hanging bars/ hooks. 4. There was only one very small bedside table in a twin room.

What a beautiful hotel! So many glamorous original features, but with 21st century comfort and convenience. The room we got first was lovely but had a poor view, so the team kindly found us a better room with a better view for no extra cost. The room was comfortable and clean, and we had a great night's sleep. The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot. Downstairs the bar area was peaceful and comfortable with lovely staff. Great value and will definitely stay again.

The bathroom is a weird layout where it's split either side of the entrance door to the room. It did give enough privacy for a relaxed couple, however. The bar food was pricey and lukewarm, but to be fair to them, we ate at an odd time (4p.m. on a Sunday evening), when the kitchen wasn't fully up and running.

the receptionist when we first arrived at the hotel - very friendly, gave us lots of information about the hotel, the location and if we needed any further help. The room was large very nice shower facility. It was great to have good quality shampoo and conditioner in the shower . The breakfast was very nice - fresh fruit, nice cheeses, pastries, cereals and traditional English breakfast - very clean and staff very helpful. The location of the hotel is very safe, easy walking distance of historical and cultural sites and shopping.
