My stay at St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, London was absolutely outstanding. The accommodation was excellent, with a beautifully maintained room that provided both comfort and luxury. The service was impeccable—the staff were incredibly professional, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast was a delight, offering a variety of high-quality options that made for a perfect start to the day. The location is unbeatable, just a short walk from Buckingham Palace and within easy reach of central London. I honestly can’t find a single fault with my experience, and I would gladly return. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended!

Everything! All of the staff were warm and welcoming and always greeted you with a smile. I liked the breakfast buffet, it was very generous and there was a great selection of juices and vegetables. I liked the fresh air in the rooms as you could open the windows, I liked the new furnishings, the tea and coffee, the towels were soft and fluffy, the sheets were smooth and felt silky, great pillows and the door had additional security to make solo travellers feel safe. You were also provided with soap, a shaver, toothbrush and the usual shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturising cream - and they all smelt fabulous! I also liked the concierge and having staff at the door also made you feel safe. Everyone I spoke to was awesome! Housekeeping even called me at 8pm to see if I needed anything because I had “do not disturb”on my door for most of the day as I was leaving the following morning and didn’t need anything. Now that is what I call exemplary service!

I liked everything .

When we arrived our initial ex king room did not meet our expectations as per our booking and the window was opaque and did not open, so the front desk clerk Privanka was very accommodating and upgraded us to a suite immediately once she checked our booking. This suite had 2 very large windows, overlooking the courtyard that was very lovely. All staff were very professional, courteus and very friendly. We had a very comfortable stay.

Excellent location. Kind staff. Large room. Good breakfast with a lot of choices. Beautiful view onto central courtyard.

The window locks were broken. As a result, the windows did not seal properly and let in noise from the courtyard. In general, the room is starting to look a bit worn. There was enough space for a comfortable sofa, but the room was furnished with a couple old settees which were not especially comfortable. Not an excellent value for the price.

This is a favourite hotel of mine, I have returned many times and never been disappointed. The service is excellent, the rooms have all been refurbished in recent years and the hotel is now one of excellence. The concierge service is particularly good, the porterage is superb and the knowledge and helpfulness of the Golden Key porters is second to none.

The hotel is becoming rather expensive and there are hidden charges. On check out I noticed that a 5% surcharge had been added to my bill for "Service". After I questioned the additional charge, I was told that it was discretionary. The booking information states that all taxes and charges are included.

Good selection of food, omelette was served quickly. Room was comfortable and clean. Overall ambiance and decor was good.

Lift is slow and whilst no real problem to us I could see a problem during busy periods. The courtyard service is not available until 1230, even for coffee, and for a quality hotel this is a major failing; also the service was really slow and we had to chase up our order. I do not blame the serving staff who were most pleasant as this is a management issue. Supervisory staff seemed distant and not paging the service or focussed on greeting specific individuals.

It was OK!! Breakfast was very manic with not enough space for everyone… the breakfast area was very cramped as well which did not help… no decaf tea so take your own if you use it… queues for the one coffee machine… had to keep asking for cutlery! Room was very nice - premium … very good walk in shower as I find the bath showers are not that great and are dangerous. All in all it was as I said OK … glass of house Chardonnay £20!! Very pricy in the restaurants… great location and close to tube station for circle..

A few things as mentioned previously..

I was hesitant booking this hotel because of the 8.5 rating however I am so glad that I did. We had a better experience here than in some five star hotels we stayed at. At checkin they asked us if we were staying for an occasion and when I mentioned it was my husband’s birthday they upgraded us and delivered a bottle of wine to our room with chocolates - it honestly made our stay! Throughout our stay the staff were so polite and professional - anytime we walked through the lobby staff went out of their way to greet us/hold doors open etc. Amazing breakfast selection, thankfully we had it included (as otherwise it was quite expensive). They had lovely Indian breakfast options which we ordered just to try - but they turned out even better than the regular breakfast! If staying again I would definitely recommend opting for these!

The only thing we found really strange was the sound for the tv only went through a speaker located in the bathroom. Also, they added on a 5% service charge - they did give us the option to remove (although we didn’t as the service was so good) - but I think it should be updated on the terms and conditions on booking.com so people are aware of this before booking.
