The building was lovely and the location brilliant close to every thing.

It’s dated. Need modernising. New bathrooms carpets and paint schemes required throughout. Maybe take the existing wood back to a light shade then repaint everything. The front doors swing back and hit you when leaving and entering, food and staff were great but the restaurant felt like the late 1980s. No contactless payment Also the upfront / deposit of £50.00 should be more clear in the write ups as I move money all the time so could have caught me out but was okay.

The staff was very friendly, great location very central, there was an elevator which comes very handy for those traveling with heavy luggage, I booked the single room, it was very clean, warm, and comfy, but was a bit small, and the bed was small, but I did not mind it, as long as the mattress was comfortable, which it was!

The room and single bed are small, so for those who need them to be more spacious, might be an issue, but for me it wasn’t. The mattress was comfortable and I am someone who is picky with the beds I am willing to sleep on because I easily get back aches with bad mattresses, so I don’t give this feedback lightly, and so for me that was enough.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have breakfast at the hotel as we were specific about having vegan food.

We experienced a slight issue on the day one in the room provided to us on the fifth floor. The flush in the toilet was not working as expected. Upon investigation. In-house technician confirmed that the flush had to be replaced and would take at least two days. However, the staff at the receptionwas quick to speak with the manager in charge. A provide an alter Na. Was quick to speak with the manager in charge and provide an alternate room on the first floor. Our observation was that the room on the first floor was much better and spacious as compared to the room on the fifth floor.

Stuff was extremely polite and helpful except one of the register team. Food plenty and well presented. Restaurant and room clean to high standard. Thank you.

The room I was taking to had damaged bathtub, one of the drawers Brocken, no coffee machine as described on the site. When asked to be placed in other room stuff member was kind and offered me a better one but there was refrigerator not working, no coffee machine still. The room had a garden but no chair to enjoying it. Price higher for the condition. Overall I am satisfied .

Location of hotel is close to Victoria Train station. There are many restaurant choices within a few blocks of the hotel and most of the main attractions in downtown London are within walking distance of 1-3 km. Staff are attentive and friendly. The breakfast has reasonable options and the bar is cozy.

Our room was equipped with a wall bed that was comfortable enough, but rather flimsy. The hotel is not air conditioned and we visited during some extremely hot days with very little breeze. This made for a stuffy room even with windows open for fresh air. The cost is competitive with most hotels although prices throughout the city have noticeable skyrocketed lately.

We loved loads about this property! The location was excellent. Close to everywhere and in a beautiful area of London. Two tube stations within close proximity - Victoria and St James Park. The staff in the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly at all times. The breakfast was excellent and again staff were very helpful. We were able to drop in our luggage early on the day of check in and again able to leave it at the hotel until the evening on day of checkout. This was extremely helpful as it allowed us travel around luggage free on days of arrival and departure. Overall we loved this property and would recommend.

While this hotel is perfect in every way the only issue we found was the heat in the room. Our room contained two fans and we used them every night. Weather was quite mild during our stay which probably didn’t help.

The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The location is very good for a pleasant quiet stay that is very central London. I travel from Devon, 200 miles. I can only stay one night. I come to visit a friend in a care home, nearby. We like to take her to lunch so being near is important.

I honestly can't think of anything that could have been better. The beds are very comfortable the room very clean, all staff very friendly and helpful.

Everything about the hotel was faultless. Very polite staff. Room as clean as expected. Coffee/milk etc replenished. Room service excellent. Buffet style breakfast had lots of variety. Myself and 3 daughters stayed for 2 nights for my 50th birthday. Complimentary dessert and happy birthday wishes sent to our room which was such a kind gesture. My daughter left her toy monkey behind, and today we received it in the post 4 days after leaving the hotel, I can’t thank the staff enough for this! Close enough to visit all attractions. We walked everywhere…Buckingham palace, Hyde park, china town, m and m world, Oxford street. We did get the tube back from Oxford Street though, our legs needed a rest. Not once did I have any worries over our safety, from walking around London to our hotel. Beds/pillows were super comfy and we all had such good nights sleep. I would not hesitate to return back to The Rochester. Thank you!

Maybe an extra PowerPoint in the room. Could only find 1 double socket which made it a little difficult to make sure all phones were charged on time. Just a tiny negative though as we did manage ok.

Very convenient location for site seeing activities. Lobby smelt lovely, added touch of door men was classy. Beds were comfortable, liked having room service, chicken burger was great! Staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

Seemed to be some confusion surrounding the address of the property with taxis as they were unsure of which entrances to pick up and or drop us off at. Food was inconsistent overall, club sandwiches weren’t great, sour cream on nachos looked a little sour. Room was too warm and bathroom was so cold so we left the door open mostly to counter balance.

The room and hotel in general were clean and very nice looking. The hotel is within walking distance to train stations, and Buckingham Palace. It was very easy to get around and see the sites we wanted to see. There are also several food options near the hotel, it is in a great location!

The room was small and a little tight to maneuver in areas, but it was nice. My only complaint was the bed, it is hard and uncomfortable. I woke up sore, and so was my Dad, who prefers more firm beds than I.
