The location was absolutely the best-- close to everything but tucked away in a quiet spot. Tube was 5 minutes away. Shepherds Market with many dining options was 5 minutes away. All the many fabulous Mayfair sites are about 10 minutes away. Buckingham Palace is just a 15 minute walk. Westminster Abbey another 15 minutes past that through gorgeous parks. Hyde Park only a short walk. Harrods also walkable. We will ABSOLUTELY choose The Chesterfield when we return to London. The classy service. amazing king size bed, and British elegance-- complete with well attired footmen-- puts the Chesterfield over the top!
My own mistake was to not splurge on the larger suite. But our smaller one was so well appointed that we quickly adjusted. Especially when we discovered the clever under-bed storage! The large window also made the space feel big enough. In the end, having the king size bed that was extremely comfortable more than compensated for the smaller room size. Furthermore, when in London there is so much to see, you really don't want to spend much time in your room!

Rooms are getting a little "old". Not in the style, just, you notice the years of service

Comfortable room with very big bed.
Building work going on directly above our room so noisy from about 8am. Doorframes looking a bit tired. No fridge.

Lovely decor, staff friendly. Great location in Mayfair although some local roadworks & renovations opposite at the time of my stay. The toiletries were of good quality. Loved the sheets and the bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast was disappointing, slow service, cold coffee - had to ask twice for a hot pot! Also in my room (313) there was a lot of noise in the night, banging, crashing - not from nearby rooms, enough to disturb my sleep. Towels not the fluffiest I’ve experienced- probably overdue a new lot! Also, the hotel add an extra £1 for charity and £15 housekeeping onto the bill, which made it £259 (room only) for one night… !

Not only that the staff are very friendly and lively, but also the breakfast was delicious. Besides, the room is honestly comfortable. The place is quiet and peaceful too. ☃️ If I were to come back to London, most likely I would book this hotel again!
The toilet is not easy to flush, not enough strength to flush.😅

Location was fabulous—close to parks, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. The staff was friendly and helpful—we always felt that they wanted to please us. In fact, one day we received a small cake in our room to celebrate my son’s March birthday. Another evening we came into our room to find a small box of chocolate to celebrate UK’s Mother’s Day. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean.
Perhaps the price could have been a bit lower although I would return and pay it again. Also, they were adding on to their hotel, so we had some construction noise for a little while during the day—never early or late to interrupt sleep. But when we return, we’ll reap the benefit of a new rooftop bar!

We booked The Chesterfield as a surprise wedding gift to celebrate my daughter’s wedding. From point of booking the communication with the hotel was fast & helpful & they really pulled out all the stops to make their stay memorable, offering a glass of champagne on arrival (& the an amazing non-alcoholic option for my daughter who is expecting), upgraded their room & were incredibly friendly & welcoming. My new son in-law tells me the pillows were amazing & they both say the hash browns with breakfast were the best they’ve tasted.
Nothing - this was an exceptional stay & worth every penny.

Excellent value for the location, exemplary service, super friendly staff and classic charming British style. Welcome notes and treats, evening turn down service, and daily tea/coffee/water setup is such a nice touch. Concierges Jake and Loris were brilliant with recommendations. Maina greeted us at the front desk was clearly, comprehensively explained all we’d need to know for checking in. Out front Mustafa and Vitali were engaging and super helpful. On arrival we were too tired to go out so indulged in room service salad and large, delicious club sandwich. We’re informed there’d be a bit of a delay - but we got a knock in just 15 minutes! To economize another evening, my wife and I had an in-room picnic with savory Fortnum & Mason takeout. Loris promptly arrived with plates, cutlery and linen napkins. Chesterfield Mayfair is pure class.
Some things are best purchased outside the hotel. One morning before a big day of sightseeing, I had a cup of coffee at the bar. £8! Ouch. 😉 FYI, there are, steps away, very good breakfast options.

The hotel was amazing and room very comfortable. Staff couldn’t have been nicer - all of them!!! The location was perfect as well. Very easy to get around.
We were using this one night stay as a rest stop before heading to Paris so when we got to our room we settled in for a rest for a few hours before dinner and the theatre. They were doing renovations upstairs and we weren’t told. There was a constant banging until 4pm so not one minute of rest. We did not complain because we didn’t want to get dressed and move all our luggage. It just would have been nice if they had let us know beforehand as we might have requested to be moved then.

This time in London, we decided to stay in Mayfair, and the Chesterfield turned out to be an excellent choice. Our room was well-equipped, comfortable and noise-free. In addition to the hotels own accurate description, we also enjoyed the atmosphere of the piano bar where we met some interesting people, mainly international guests. The wine list is quite good and the food well-prepared. The best thing about the hotel is the staff, who take customer service very seriously while at the same time being friendly. Breakfast is served in the restaurant and if you don't like exactly what the menu offers, the staff are flexible enough to serve your own invention. It is important differentiate the experience from the more common buffet format. The hotel is rated "4-star" but in my opinion, it compared well with our previous 5-star hotel experiences.
It is entirely reasonable to expect any hotel room rate to include housekeeping so I was disappointed to discover the £15 per night surcharge for "housekeeping". I am one of those old fashioned types who believes that all business is done in good faith and is therefore, irritated by those difficult-to-justify little extras which unexpectedly appear on the bill. Its not a question of cost but more a matter of principle. An extra £15 per night on the room rate would not have affected my choice of hotel and would not deter me from returning. The hotel should revise its policy on surcharging.
