The location was great - not only round the corner from the main highstreet, but travelling with my dog the location was ideal with the park across the road.

Nothing i didnt like - but during my stay there was a wedding reception and my room was a few doors down - being with my dog i was worried it would put off the guests so another entrance to give them their space would have been nice.

The staff were so friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious, very clean and nicely decorated and everything was in a good state of repair. We booked into the restaurant for our evening meal and the food was excellent, as was the service. Breakfast in the morning was also excellent and a good variety of cereals, fruit, juices, hot food and the option to order from the kitchen. There is also an ample sized car park.

We couldn't find anything not to like.

Nice hotel in a good location opposite the lovely park and a short walk from the Main Street. We had our dog with us who was made very welcome. Staff were friendly and professional, bar staff very good. We had a meal in the bar which was decent.

The rooms (bathroom) are a little tired but this didn’t affect the quality of our stay.

Loved the bath in the ensuite - perfect for relaxing after days at beautiful Lunan Bay and the Montrose Basin wildlife reserve. Everything comfortable and super-clean. Staff from reception to restaurant service all very polite, friendly and helpful. Arbroath smokie for breakfast recommended!

The room size was adequate, We attended a friends golden wedding . the meal was exceptional, very well presented,plenty of choice, Breakfast was again plentiful, buffet filled up repeatably ensuring everybody had a full plate etc. Above all the staff were so hospitable and the Hotel management should be proud of them.,

Nothing really except disturbences from other guests when they arrived from function elsewhere.

The room was very comfortable with all the things we need for a good stay. Dinner was excellent as was our breakfast which set us up well for our long journey home. a big Thank You to the friendly helpful staff who catered for us very well!

The shower could have been easier to work and it took an long time for hot water to come throught but hey, we had a wonderful stay

The outside of the Hotel was a bit deceiving it looked just like any other 3 star hotel BUT when you walk inside it is very very welcoming, cosy, clean, comfortable, spaceous, and beautifully decorated in traditional Scottish style. Our beds were very comfortable we all slept very well, no noise no disturbance very friendly housekeepers but what we loved the most was the breakfast and the friendly helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was more than I expected and you were full up by the time you finished, very clean very good quality food, any amount of options. The staff there could not do enough for us they worked so hard (we were at a wedding) and they still were kind and helpful right into the night having served us food early that same day I just cannot fault the staff and want to thank them for their hospitality. We loved Montrose too and we would love to come back, it's a perfect venue for a wedding, the wedding venue looked so cute and had doors that lead put onto a beautifully kept garden (Well done gardeners), the receptionist were super helpful always friendly, I highly recommend this hotel I would go as far to say it was the best hotel experience we as a family have ever had and I think it's because it's very down to earth, family orientated and non pretentious, love it.

Nice room had everything we needed.

Breakfast was included in the room rate, but we didn't get any. It was a Sunday morning, breakfast room was packed and staff overwhelmed. After waiting more than 20 minutes for coffee and food we have decided to leave with only one egg in our stomach as buffet was still empty.

In a nice area. Very clean throughout with tasteful decor. Bar and restaurant very comfortable and well laid out.

Our view from room 342 was to the rear of the property. Oh dear what an absolute mess. The large waste bins were uncovered and rubbish spilled from them. The Gulls and Magpies had easy access resulting in the rubbish being strewn around. They were not exactly quiet either!

Staff very friendly, rooms a good size and had all you needed, food was great and hot.

Thought all the woodwork and walls could be doing with a touch up as it took away from the nice rooms. Possibly a better selections of beers in bar and live entertainment over weekend even a one man band.
