The location should not have been a problem but our rental car GPS deposited us in a housing estate. The postal code was insufficient to get us there easily. A Good Samaritan helped us find the B&B but in the process I dropped my phone in his car. Looking for someone from whom to get directions, we forgot where we parked our car and needed help finding it. Our host was very helpful allowing us to make (and take) calls to the friends we had just left in Edinburgh that night and the next day. We arrived early evening and were exhausted by the day's events. In the morning we took advantage of extra space in an adjacent suite to map out the route to our next stop. We eventually had the phone returned by mail. Breakfast was good though we did not have "a full English."

A more definite address would have helped. The rooms each had separate entrances like a motel although breakfast was in the main house.

Breakfast was excellent. The bed was nice and big and we had use of the sitting room / common area next door to our room where we could have a takeaway meal and use the kitchen / dining table and relax to watch TV with a bit more space. Heather was very welcoming and helpful. Being so close to the M8 made it easy to drive to places near both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Not that we didn't like it but you should be aware you will need a car and there isn't anything close by so a little more planning is needed for evening meals. Many places are closed on a Monday (which is when we arrived) but we had a really good takeaway from Koh I Noor in Shotts and, as long as no one is booked for the self-catering, you can bring it back to eat in the common room.

Very quiet and rural location, even though it's close to the highway. The rooms, although not very spacious, are very comfortable. We also had access to a common area next to the rooms with a living room and kitchen, where we could relax and watch TV Amenities include coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The host was very friendly and communicative. Private parking. A varied and complete Scottish breakfast prepared by the hostess. We really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Everything was perfect! The room was spacious, super clean, and comfortable with a good-sized private bathroom. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room and you can also use the guests' lounge where you will find a kitchen and a washing machine . Rooms are on the ground floor with a private entrance. Even though the property is right at the exit of the motorway, you won't hear anything. It's really quiet! Parking on site in front of the room entrance. Breakfast is cooked to your preference, and the hosts are extremely welcoming and pleasant! The guesthouse is situated literally at the exit of the motorway. Make sure to drive slowly not to miss the turn! We only spent 1 night here as we were flying out on the next day. The location was really convenient for us, only 30 minutes from the airport. Really good deal in the area! Highly recommended!

What a gem! Set on a farm just off the motorway so easily accessible but the rooms back on to beautiful countryside view. Rooms are so clean, got everything you need. Love the addition of the communal area, lounge, dining area kitchen; again has everything you need and clean. Host was wonderful, breakfast was amazing, all home cooked. Would 1000% love to stay again.

Nothing not to like

Room 5 (where I stayed) is very quiet, clean and comfortable, albeit a little basic. The most important thing for me on business travel is a good nights sleep and the quiet room made this possible. The owners are really friendly, accommodating and helpful. The breakfast is outstanding and freshly cooked. Location is perfect for exploring Glasgow, Edinburgh and surrounding areas.

Spotlessly clean, very comfy bed, nice bed linen, very friendly hosts, good breakfast. Use of the kitchen/dining/lounge area was a bonus - you can use it to cook/reheat your own meals or just eat a takeaway there. Useful info on local restaurants/takeaways/deliveries available. Good access to M8 motorway as just off junction 5 but no traffic noise heard in our room.

The staff were super accommodating, especially as I messed up my booking and forgot to mention a check in time or having multiple guests. They didn't mind at all and were happy to have us to stay :) Breakfast and the vibe is amazing - would definitely recommend!!!

The only problem was that it was super warm in the room overnight (r a ther that than too cold tho!)

The whole experience from start to finish was wonderful. We had to visit Scotland for a sad occasion and the hosts could not have been more accommodating, they allowed us to check in early and even remembered the reason why we needed to and wished us well. The rooms were very cosy with everything you could need (including amazing views, especially when it snowed!) Comfy bed, TV, tea and coffee, hair dryer and a great shower! Breakfast was cooked to perfection and the little added touch of oat milk (I advised I had a milk intolerance when choosing breakfast) meant I could enjoy a nice hot drink on a very cold Scottish morning. All of the staff/owners were so friendly as are their dogs and horses 😍 Would 100% recommend and are already talking about using them for another trip we are planning next year. This was a great place to base ourselves for a few days, being half way between Edinburgh and Glasgow, and not far South of Falkirk, with a 5-10 minute drive to trains and buses.Our room and unsuite well set up, and the attached kitchen/ TV room was great with everything we could need for meals, etc. The cooked breakfast prepared by Wayne and Heather, our wonderful hosts, was fantastic, with my partner especially liking the syrup porridge. Would recommend.
