I absolutely love this hotel! The decor is stylish and immaculate throughout. The staff are incredibly friendly and always go the extra mile to help. The rooms are spacious and offer a stunning view of the river. The beds are so comfortable. I’ve had some of my best nights sleep here, and I usually don't sleep well away from home! There is also no noise from the corridors, surrounding rooms or from outside which has always been a problem for me at other hotels. Breakfast is a real highlight, with an impressive variety of delicious options to choose from. I also love the thoughtful touch of a complimentary drinks voucher, allowing guests to unwind at the bar while enjoying the beautiful river view and watching the world go by. I rated the location 4 stars only because reaching the city center requires either climbing a lot of steps or tackling a steep hill. However, this minor inconvenience wouldn’t stop me from staying here again, it’s absolutely worth it!

Again happy to return to our preferred location and hotel, when visiting the most vibrant city the NORTH. The Copthorne hotel is brilliantly located along Newcastle Quay side next to the river Tyne. As frequent runners, we enjoyed having several options for staying local and still have miles of popular running routes just outside the door. Helpful and super friendly staff recognising us from previous stays made us feel very welcomed. Superb service and cleanliness throughout our 12 nights stay. For lovers of Newcastle, who appreciate quiet comfort despite from being right in the city centre, this hotel can only be highly recommended.

Clean, great staff, excellent location within walking distance to millennium bridge. Parking was right next to the hotel at a discounted rate £12.50 per 24 hrs. I travelled from London and didn’t get there until really late in evening. I spoke to Abbie earlier in the day and was worried about check in process she was very professional and extremely helpful with all my queries and very kindly allocated a twin room with nice view to ensure my daughter and I could get a good night sleep after a long journey. Exceptional customer service :) Thank you !! Adam was also welcoming, friendly and very informative about the area and places to visit. All staff were friendly, polite and welcoming will definitely reserve a room with Copthorne Hotel next time we are in Newcastle .

Very good all round . Location superb for us as seeing a show at the utilita arena which was less than a 15 minute walk and riverside location had several restaurants close by including Hard Rock Cafe where we ate only a 5 minute walk . Room ver comfortable staff great and breakfast had a good choice
Only a minor gripe which hotel can do nothing about but one side of hotel where we were , is close to one of Newcastle's famous bridges which carries the city’s metro , so from 5am till very late at night you get the loud rumble of trains as they cross the bridge , so suggest if light sleeper ask for a room well away from that side

It was our first time visiting Newcastle, and the Utilita Arena and the Copthorne is located very close by. Lovely friendly and helpful staff checked us in and explained all we needed to know about the hotel and its facilities. Our room overlooked the river and was ideal. Comfortable beds and all the facilities required for a relaxing overnight stay. Nice to see two chairs in a twin bedded room for a change. Exceptional buffet breakfast and tasty dinner completed our stay
Not so much a criticism as a suggestion. The tea tray was located alongside the bed. It would be better to have placed this on the desk under the mirror.

The location was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful
The majority of the food was good however the steak fajitas had a lot of gristle so it wasn’t nice, we left the meat and ate the accompaniments. Breakfast on Saturday morning was chaotic, we got to the dining room at 9.15 and there was almost no hot food left. Some sausages, tomatoes and hash browns but the other trays were empty and there was a long queue waiting for them to be refilled. it took 20 minutes for bacon to arrive. No clean cups for tea and coffee and the juice dispensers were empty. We actually had our beverages after we’d finished eating. They advertise breakfast is served until 10am so it should have been a lot better organised

The hotel is a 12 minute walk from the Arena and has a carpark (extra charge) so perfect for our needs and good value for money. The room was large, with a balcony facing the river and a fridge so we could keep drinks and snacks cold. Nice breakfast room with river views and a good selection of hot and cold breakfast items. Staff all lovely and welcoming.
The bathroom was clean but in need of updating as it was tired looking around the sink, bath and bath panel. There was no extractor fan either so got very steamy after showers. I couldn't find any plug sockets near the bed for my phone charger, I like to keep it near me to check the time in the night. The fridge kept making a loud noise when the thermostat kicked in throughout the night which disturbed our sleep a bit.

Beautiful views of river Tyne, bridges and area. The rooms are very clean with good quality pillows, bedding, towels etc. The quality of the products in the bathroom are really good.. But on the whole. It was one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. Thanks Copthorne
My only criticism is the tea and coffee supply. I paid for a double room for 2 days/nights. But even for one d/n. 2 coffee sachets. 2 tea bags. 4 milk. 6 sugars. And 1 pkt of broken biscuits was very mean. With a view so beautiful. It would have been lovely to be able to make as many cuppas as I’d have liked. And sit watching the world go by, without having to go to reception and ask for more sachets. I’d rather pay an extra fiver on my bill than embarrass myself by asking for more. But on the whole. It was one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. Thanks Copthorne

I enjoyed my stay and thought the staff at every level were excellent. Perfectly cheerful polite helpful attitude no matter what their task from room cleaners, dining, bar and reception
Given how well run everything else was I thought the menu and food was underwhelming. Essentially, Pub grub on a plate. But I was not there for haut cuisine. Many guests walk down the road to eat at Wetherspoons I note. And so I followed suit for a steak meal with a drink for £15, and a breakfast. I would happily have paid more for better food in the hotel.

Great location, friendly, helpful staff and very good breakfasts. In particular their electric porridge urn provides a delicious start to the day. The Sunday lunch is as good as stated in the many positive reviews.online. We booked the larger river view room and the team on the front desk helpfully grouped us near the very good friends with whom we were meeting for a reunion. The room was great - very comfortable and with a lovely views.
Only very minor issues. Some unsliced bread at breakfast and a cask beer/real ale option at the bar would be great although the latter can be a challenge if demand is limited.
