The Osney Arms was well located close to the railway station and also central to enable an easy make walk around the city. The self check in was well communicated and we advised we were arriving before official check-in and were allowed to leave our bags in the communal dining room. Breakfast was self serve and had a variety of cereals tea/coffee, toast, yoghurt, juice etc. We were in room 9 and looked over the side road, the beds were very comfortable and we slept well and didn’t hear any road noise.
We were in room 9 and shared a bathroom with room 10, I didn’t realise( although it was in the booking information) that there was only a bath (a very nice bath) and that made it a little difficult sharing the bathroom and a shower would be better. I washed my hair and there was a jug and it worked fine. There was only one towel rail in the bathroom and none in the bedrooms so there was really no where to hang your towel. Room 9 also has a sloping ceiling which is quite low at one side, my husband is 6ft 6 and found that challenging.

Charming B&B with self check-in and self catering breakfast. City center is in walking distance (800m). Private parking (two spots, we were lucky 🙂) Nicely decorated room. Most rooms have en suite bathrooms, with the exception of two rooms (no 9 and no 10) on the second floor. Our room was no 10, it was tiny but charming. The shared bathroom is spacious and sharing it was no problem for us. Nice coffee in the morning from good coffee machine. Breakfast is self service but sufficient. Nice smoking area outside behind back entrance.
Outside smoking area could have been a bit cleaner (ashtrays, flowers...)

I contacted the owner at 1200 and he stated the room was ready. He also sent pictures of the entry system. It was very warm weather and the desk fan was much appreciated. The room and shower worked perfectly and the breakfast was comprehensive and of good quality. The other international guests shred the breakfast room on one table which was pleasant. The local long term road works meant that anyone taking a taxi to the Osney Arms from the train station would have a long expensive detour and it only takes 5 minutes to walk! All in all a good choice, thank you very much.
All good.

Conveniently located close to the station and reasonably close to the city centre. Usefully on a bus route which would have covered all requirements had Osney bridge not been closed during our stay. Not the ultimate in luxury but clean and comfortable enough. Self-service breakfast better than expected (and breakfast itself is rare in these "room only" houses)
It's not so much a guest house as a building full of rooms. We're more comfortable with some staff on site overnight. The door on our room was the wrong way round making it very difficult to get in and out.

Room 6 - Kingsize room clean. Plenty of sockets, towels, good sized TV on wall. Big shower and powerful - so not sure why people are moaning about the shower heat or speed, mine was fine. Tea and coffee and biscoff biscuits provided which was nice. Great room, easy to access and clean.
Parking is poor. Wifi is poor too. I did report it wasn't working and the guy fixed it, but it is very slow! Breakfast is poor too - continental which was cereal and bread. wasn't great.

I chose the property against some of the familiar chains available, because of the parking. Despite there being only 4 spaces, I was always able to park during our 3 night stay. The property is of typical "English" construction and was therefore interesting for my Russian wife. The breakfast was more than adequate and the place was clean. Although the check-in procedure is unsupervised, it was all very smooth and well-organised. We were even able to say hello to the owner one morning, while we sipped cava at a table outside, when he turned up with provisions on his bike.
While the breakfast included plenty of fruit, we would have liked something like cucumber and tomato, maybe peppers to slice onto bread.

The communication from the property was great - they left detailed instructions about how we could get in and had confirmed in advance that we could leave our car there for the whole day. We arrived in a heatwave and, as our room was on the top floor, we appreciated the fan in the room. The room was really quiet at night. Breakfast the next morning (eaten in the courtyard because of the heat) was nice too - plenty of choice. The location was great for us, about 20 walk into the city centre.
Maybe I didn't read the description properly, but our room had a shared bathroom, which I didn't realise in advance. The bathroom was large and super-clean. My one complaint was that it only had a bath and not a shower.

The guest house is very well maintained, even if from the outside the building looks quite run-down, inside is really nice. The rooms are very elegant. My parents had a king room ensuite which was very large. I had a single room with a shared bathroom: it was small but comfy. The best thing was the self service breakfast in the open kitchen that you could actually access at any time. And you can have coffee and tea both in your room or in the kitchen. It feels far from the centre despite the fact it is only a 10 mins walk from the station. Oxford is a small town anyway.
The shared bathroom was very beautiful and clean, but unfortunately it only has a bathtub, not a shower. Not ideal, still I had a relaxing bath in the morning but I was the first using it. Maybe I wouldn't have liked it if I had to use it after someone else.

I know Oxford well. I needed one night's accommodation at modest cost at a time when other accommodation was fully booked. Osney Arms is no more than 15 minutes walk from the centre of Oxford, exactly what I was looking for. The guest house provides good accommodation. Obviously, they economise - and keep the charges down - by not having any on site staff. There was no need. My bedroom was clean and smart. A good continental style breakfast was provided - self-served - in the breakfast room. I need to be gluten free and had mentioned this in my booking. I was delighted that gluten free items had been specially provided for my breakfast. Thank you, Osney Arms.
Everything good.

The room was large and comfortable. It was also relatively quiet for being on the corner with the main street. The breakfast was really good with lots of choices. It was a short walk from the train station and had a nice, large grocery store nearby. It was pretty clean and had a nice bathroom also.
well... we had some issues with the lock on the back door, but that was quickly resolved. The bathroom could use a rack or something for toiletries.
