You don’t need to bring an alarm clock with you- the trash trucks come to collect trash sharp at 6 o’clock in every morning. However, still a good place to stay.
One of the life was out of order during our stay so the was only one lift left for the use of all residents and staff. In one occasion, a janitor / housekeeping lady occupied the lift and no one could use it. Many residents had to use the stair instead. Good exercise after the good breakfast.

The location is great - super convenient when traveling by bus or train. Town centre is also a few minutes away by walk. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and pubs nearby. The room was okay - small but cozy. Breakfast options were amazing and the ladies working in breakfast area were super friendly.
I wish we received face towels, not just the large bath towels. Room cards are are disaster, as if they’re near your phone, they’d lose the room access in a blink. We had to go to reception every day to fix that. Breakfast was good with hot and cold food options but I wish there was a little more variety daily. If you stay with them for 5+ days, you’d fancy at least different pastry or fresh fruit/ vegetable options. The gentleman that welcomed us on the check in day was very friendly but other reception staff during the week couldn’t event bother to say hi.

Amazing hotel ..hard to believe it's in city centre@ so quiet and best night's sleep for many months. Such helpful and cheery staff who go and above to assist you with queries. Room is big and a large shower which is unusual. Cleanliness is extremely high standard. I will most certainly be recommending this hotel and, without hesitation, be staying here again. Thank you to you all.
My only problem has been with accessing my room several times with the card system. Several times, I have had to return to reception to have it renewed . An easy task but sadly one one lift was working which made it a little time consuming. But it certainly did not affect the overall wonderful stay.

(It was my very first time in Reading, went to see Bring Me The Horizon at Reading Festival.) The hotel is a short walk away from the train station. There is a Sainsbury's, a Wendy's, and all sorts of restaurants and shops around. I believe one of the buses to the festival also stops nearby. Check in was quick and simple, took less than 5 minutes. The room was small but nice, large double bed, comfortable mattress, and pillows. The toilet was also small but for a solo traveller it was perfect, I took a nice shower after I arrived back from the festival. I didn't hear a peep all night, I had a relaxing and restful sleep. Check out was just as easy as check in, I dropped the card off in the little box and went on my way.
Not a big issue but the bathroom felt/looked a bit outdated, I expected it to be more modern. The plug sockets were quite far from the bed, if I hadn't just come back from the festival, I wouldn't have been able to plug my phone in and scroll while charging it. (Luckily, I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow so wasn't really an issue, I just charged my phone and watch in the morning.)

Location is perfect for access to train station & town, it was clean & great value for what we needed.
I managed to mend the air con which was rattling like a tractor - but it appeared to have just slightly come off its bracket and was ok after that. Unfortunately There was only one lift in operation which was pretty horrendous & hot in the corridor waiting to it going down out of the hotel. We waited 20 mins on one occasion because everytime the lift came back to us it was full, would have used stairs if hadn’t of got all our bags. We were told we could use lifts next door but some people had come to our lift as had waits there too.

Excellent central location. Room was very clean and had decent air con which made for a comfortable nights sleep. Staff were approachable and friendly. Really enjoyed the breakfast buffet too, lots of variety and it filled me up nicely for the day.
Only one lift out of two currently in working order, so at busy times you could be waiting for 5 minutes for a lift and when you did get in the lift, people on other floors request it to stop, so be prepared for a bit of yo-yo. Not an issue if you're ok with climbing stairs, but as I was on floor 10, stairs weren't a viable option.

The location was very good, close to Reading train station and the bus stop for the RailAir bus to and from Heathrow. I could walk from the bus stop to the hotel even with a large suitcase and other bags. The hotel is on one of the main streets in Reading, so there is easy access to shopping and restaurants. During my stay my room was very quiet-I didn't hear any noise from other guest rooms or from the street outside. The room was a good size, with a desk that had enough room to use my laptop and tablet. There are power and USB sockets in good locations which allowed me to use and charge my electronic devices. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The shower was good with good temperature control and water flow. Breakfast was included in my booking and was very good, with a buffet that had a large variety of hot and cold food items. All of staff from the front desk, to the breakfast staff and housekeepers were very friendly and helpful. Tamas Racz the Front Office Manager was particularly helpful - I had problems with the card-key in the lift and to enter my room. Tamas came with me in the lift and to my room to check the problem. It turned out it was partly user error on my part. I would recommend this hotel, for a stay in Reading particularly if you are travelling by public transport.
I can't think of anything.

Really great location. Stone away to the railway station, bus stops, supermarkets and chained restaurants. Easy walk to high streets. Room is a nice size and seems to be with good soundproof. Bathroom is clean. Staff is generally friendly.
The key swipe in the lift is not easy to operate. Everyone we met in the lift shared the same struggle of getting the swipe to work in order to get to the floors. Breakfast bar is ok but wish there are more vegetarian/vegan options. Great selection of tea though.

The big stand-out about Ibis in Reading are the staff. They are helpful, efficient and friendly. A particular call out goes to Marta, who greeted me, a windswept half drowned traveler battered by Storm Bert at checkin. She was very kind, helpful and generous with her time. Thank you Marta, and thank you to all the other staff who contributed to my stay. On more mundane notes. The room was well laid out and comfortable, everything was nice and clean. The location is excellent for the station, buses and town centre and the views from the 14th floor are wonderful.
A couple of things would improve the experience. There is free WiFi and I had no problem connecting to it, however, it is so slow I felt nostalgic for the old dial-up days. Maintaining a consistent temperature in the shower was very difficult, a thermostatic mixer would be a boon.

I was stranded by a cancelled train and booked a room at the Ibis in Reading. The room was quiet, clean, and conveniently located near the train station. The room had a nice selection of coffee and tea. I only drink decaf, so was very pleased this was an option. There were a selection of restaurants closeby. I also walked to many tourist attractions. They also extended my reservation for another day with ease.
That the price jumped by 30 quid on the 2nd night. I understand this was probably due to dynamic pricing (all trains were cancelled for 2 days). It is just annoying, but I understand it.
