Really clean,nice large room with nice large walk in shower and bathroom.Staff were so friendly.We stayed for evening meal and we both really enjoyed our meals-piping hot and tasty.Breakfast service is also great-tea,coffee,toast and cereals all laid out to help yourself and then staff come round and take your order for cooked breakfast and you can mix and match your breakfast items.Nothing was a problem for any of the staff,our experience was totally faultless.This will always be our first option when we visit Redcar.

Everything was excellent. Sea view rooms 100%. Comfortable bed. Exceptional bathroom. Large fluffy towels. Heated towel rail shower and jacuzzi. Breakfast home cooked to perfection. All staff extremely helpful and friendly. Dining room and bar very well organised and very clean and Comfortable. Free car park at back of hotel Excellent bus service right outside hotel to Saltburn Staithes whitby . Hotel within walking distance to Redcar racecourse. Plenty of shops and bars even a weatherspoons short walk away.

Great sea front location, away from noise of high street but easily walkable. Staff were excellent, very friendly & helpful. Room was newly renovated, very clean & comfortable with good facilities. No air con in upstairs rooms but fan provided when requested. Very good breakfast choice and quality, speedy service. Lovely old building with character. 13 mins easy flat walk from railway.

Lots of stairs to top floor rooms, no lift due to age/style of property. No air con in upstairs rooms but nice side sea views and sunny/light. Not much sound proofing.. can hear noise in corridors & other rooms.

I had a lovely three-night stay at Claxton. Redcar is a quiet town, and in this season, it was incredibly relaxing to sit by the sea and enjoy the breeze. Claxton is undoubtedly in the best location — just steps from the beach, and I could even see the sea right from my room window. The single room was compact but very clean and tidy, and housekeeping was prompt and efficient. The complimentary breakfast was definitely a highlight: it was generous, served over a good time range, and even offered gluten-free options, which meant I could start each day well-fed and ready to explore. Check-in and check-out were both smooth and convenient. I think booking directly through their website might be even easier next time. Redcar and Claxton have been among the most memorable places I’ve visited during my time in the UK. I’m already thinking of coming back for another holiday next year!

The staircase is a bit narrow, so carrying a large suitcase up might be a little tricky.

Staff where fantastic, sooooo clean , we went for breakfast which was great , loads of choice and cooked to order so was lovely and hot , wasn’t a fan of the fried bread (a little over cooked and the end of the bread) but that just my opinion, hubby loved it . Came back from breakfast and our room was already cleaned. We went out so not sure about the night staff , but the morning staff were amazing . We had 2 rooms 8&9 and the view was amazing. Would definitely recommend this hotel, yes limited parking but we got there and had no problems.

Made to feel welcome straight away. Staff found me a spot to park my motorcycle, with a security floor anchor to lock to. They also had CCTV protecting the parking area. I booked a double room, which had plenty of space, a view over the sea and a great bathroom. I ate in-house for an evening meal, which was fine and had a drink. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. The whole hotel seemed spotlessly clean and the staff friendly. Took a long walk down the sea front which was very refreshing.

I didn't like having to leave, but alas, all good things come to an end.

Everything was good, nothing out of the world but everything left me feeling content. The bed was comfortable, the food was very nice and the staff were incredibly hospitable. Honestly, go see the place for yourselves and realise this is a little treasure trove at very fair prices.

I can't think of any major flaws? Maybe the shower not having a nonslip floor could be considered a very minor inconvenience otherwise, the place is great and I'll be back again for sure!

Extremely friendly helpful staff. Such a warm welcome. Ashley couldn’t do enough to help us. We arrived early the girls popped our belongings into our rooms ready for our return from the races. Ample parking. Lots free parking. Lovely room modern shower lots of hot water. Comfy bed. Brilliant hot cooked breakfast ! Nice little courtyard to the back. Pet friendly. Redcar promenade is so nice We also visited saltburn.. great place. Absolutely gorgeous clean beaches.

Everything was lovely, we had room 1, king sea view with Jacuzzi bath and separate shower, which I love having both. The room was light and airy with air conditioning too. The staff are lovely, always very helpful and friendly. We visit redcar to see family, our second stay at the Claxton, and many more to come. Food is delicious too, very yummy

Personally I think breakfast should be a little bit later/longer, 7-9am, I think it would be better even if it was extended just a little, say 9.30, I like a bit of a lazy morning when I'm away, I felt a bit rushed. Maybe next time not book breakfast and have it later somewhere I guess is an option
