We booked in for three nights, our room was lovely, a nice shower, and a very comfortable bed, also a very clean room, we loved the fact you are a short distance away from the pub restaurant, no noise. We had full English breakfast each morning, all fabulous 👌  We decided to eat all our evening meals here, seeing that the first nights meal was first class,  Cherie and her team looked after us 100% which ensured our stay was faultless thank you so much. Perfect dog friendly place to stay after a long drive south. Great dog friendly pub with good food and plenty for gluten free requirements. Friendly helpful staff. Comfy bed. Quiet at night time for good night’s sleep. Good hot shower. We regularly stayed here before making permanent move south. Our collie dog loved arriving here and would bound over to the front door of the cottage style accommodation, happy to recognise her holiday home!

The Cherry Tree was in a lovely location. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the adequately furnished breakfast was great, especially as we are vegetarians and that was catered for.

They allow dogs in the rooms and the previous guests had obviously had a dog. Although the bed linen was clean after the room had been swept dog hair had settled on the clean bed and was on the cushions which were on the bed. I would maybe just have one room for dog owners and keep the other rooms dog free.

Location, decor, staff

The reservation I made nearly a year previously was cancelled 3 days before our arrival by yourselves because the payment card declined causing stress and anxiety. A simple email to ask for an alternative payment rather than just saying it had been cancelled would have been more acceptable. This happened to both myself and my sister. Not only that but when we had to rebook the same rooms you cancelled you then charged us more!!! I think you will be hearing from my sister separately on that matter. It will make us think twice about using Booking .com in future.

Excellent shower and having experienced 5 star facility hotels the complimentary toiletries were 5 star. The food was excellent in the bar. I am gluten free and there is much more choice for me than other places I have stayed.

I feel it would have been helpful if there was an information pack,about the cherry tree and local facilities,bus times etc. The kettle was difficult to fill as the kettle didn't fit under the tap. I filled it filling up the kettle with the cups,also I feel mugs would have been better to handle. The shelves above the sink were too close to the sink.

Comfy beds, friendly staff, good food

Towels in room are slightly bigger than a hand towel so not really big enough to dry yourself after a shower. A big issue is breakfast which is not served until 10.00 which completely mucks up any morning activities planned. The Bar shuts early at 10.00 pm and last orders is called at 9.00pm . If you have gone out for the evening and get back after 9 it would be nice to have a drink before retiring

Breakfast was great as was the service. Good selection of beers and nice relaxing areas to sit and liunge around chilling.

Accomodation was fine but shower/bathroom was rather small and huge issues with regards to condensation and moisture when using shower to the point where walls are dripping and everything is completely misted up. Could look at improving extraction. Sink very very small and hard not to splash water.

Very clean and comfortable, the roo. Was nicely decorated and had everything ypu would need.

The road noise in the morning, it is a really busy road now and lots of traffic when coming out of the carpark. I think some sort of welcome pack or A4 piece of printed info on the check out, where you leave keys on departure, taxi services, info on things in local area of interest,. I only had a menu for the pub food, not even opening or food service times. This room is a bit more expensive than I'd expect to pay.

Breakfast is far too late at 10am. I didn't realise it was this late at the time of booking. If i was to stay again id book room only. Bed although a double was quite small. For some reason only 1 set of towels in the bathroom so i had to share with husband.

Staff were very friendly and check in was simple . The location was perfect for our stay, close to Rochford & set in a quiet rural area. The breakfast is great. The pub has a good choice of food and drinks with a welcoming atmosphere.

Breakfast is from 10am and worth waiting for although we would have preferred it a little earlier.
