A stone's throw from the Cliffs Pavilion, which is where we were going on Saturday night. Chargeable street parking cost us £5.86 which covered us for the night until 11am Sunday morning (check out time). Dinner was really tasty and breakfast was good with all the cooked items required + fruit, yoghurt, cereal, toast etc. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, although slightly dated. Our bedroom was big and the bed was comfy. The shower was a bit of a faff, but roomy and absolutely good enough. The toiletries were a nice tough.

The room cost £152.95 on Booking.com, but only £97 if we'd booked direct with the hotel. Sadly, I discovered this the day before, so it was too late to cancel. The lift was tiny! Not a problem if you're with your partner, but it could be a bit uncomfortable for two strangers with big bottoms and a suitcase each :-D

Location is brilliant as it’s in the quieter area of Southend in Westcliff . Local newsagent nearby for water etc and short 15 minute walk to Southend central for pier snd adventure land theme park. Car parking is street via Ringo but discounted cost. Staff on reception and kitchen friendly and night porter Vince was brilliant. Bed very comfortable and I paid extra for the buffet breakfast which had a good cross selection of cooked, pastries , fruits and yogurts. A few People did seem to moan about the hot water. But if you run the hot tap and then go make a cup Of tea after 3-5 minutes the hot water runs! Shower was lovely, good water pressure and soft water compared to London’s hard water area. Evening food menu was also good value and a good chef with homemade mayonnaise and tartare sauce!

I liked the location the view scenery staff were very friendly and welcoming even the kitchen staff very careful and very helpful when it was concerning my sons allergies they made sure he was catered for well so that was appreciated enjoyed the breakfast 😀

I will be honest when we arrived when I entered the family room there was an unpleasant odour I obviously didn't want to come down making the complaint as it was our first time we stayed there and even visiting Southend on sea so I did open all windows and stuff the carpet wasn't the best but again the beds and sheets were clean and my kids slept well I didn't see an iron in the room as stated on the list but we managed it but if it was needed I would have asked down at reception bathroom was clean but I did notice the toilet may have needed some bleach or a little wipe down which I did whilst I was there as it was stained at the bottom but over all the room was a great comfortable size so despite a few hiccups I still enjoyed my stay at the hotel ☺️

The closeness to the westcliff theatre

No restaurant open on a sunday afternoon/evening. We had arranged to eat elsewhere but wasnt notified it was closed.

the bathroom ( I was on 4th floor) was very nice bath and power shower with 24 hot water, with window. The hotel is in a nice position with sea views only downside there aren't many shops close by (15 mins walk) it's possible to buy food at the bar in the hotel which isn't too expensive. The breakfast is very generous (buffet) full English, cereals, continental, lots of choice.

Maybe would be good if the hotel bar took cash and not just cards, also because there is nowhere to eat close by when the weather is bad.

Executive double room-Jacuzzi-few rooms(#112) have this facility, we booked specifically for this and it dint disappoint. Amazing sea view. Spacious room. All basic of a good room was covered. Good English and continental breakfast was included, chef did help to make fresh egg dish for us.

Location- if travelling by train or bus then it's a good 15-20mins walk. Also, it's same distance from the pier/happening area. Cleanliness - room was clean but could have been better considering we booked one of the best high end rooms - window had some stains/watermarks, chair had some stains.

In the quiet end of southend nice gardens nearby. Room is clean, they have a first come first serve attitude to the rooms no paying extra for views wich is nice. Hotel looks worn but adds to its character. There is a restaurant in the hotel I did not use but looks nice.

Street parking uses a strange app that you can only have a certain amount of hours at a time on, so you have to remember to keep filling the virtual meter. It is a long walk to the touristy bits probably 1 mile. They are using one set of stairas it was easier for me to use the lift.

spacious suite,lovely charming hotel. great facilities. staff cheerful. well stocked bar. Great location and views. short walk to beach or town.

bar area a little dark and gloomy. toilet didn't flush properly. balcony could do with chairs,and a bit tired looking. cigarette butt's and old coffee cup and spoon on balcony. mattress quite firm. clean balcony before guests arrival. breakfast standard,kept warm affair. lacked lustre and effort. Bit quiet and awkward feeling. maybe some background music on low? Staff chit chat not really required/professional. At breakfast or bar.

Location brilliant and we were lucky to have sea view from our room.

First night sleep brilliant, second night the spotlights outside were on all night shining right through our window. We phoned reception and asked if they could be turned off but was told they couldn't. We said they were not on the night before which he didn't believe?? He told us to just close our curtains and we explained we did only have a blind with a gap all around the edge. That was the end off the conversation and we had a bad night sleep. Funny enough the next night they were off from about 10pm???

The staff were amazing, the breakfast was magnificent.

The building is showing its age but beds and cleanliness top class.
