Very pleasant staff. The hotel is very central, a few minutes away from the main train station. The rooms are above a pub, which is lovely, and they even had a d-jay spinning some music on Saturday late afternoon and later on at night.

It didn’t affect either my partner or me, but some quiet sleeper might have an issue about the music finishing around 1am and the pub users leaving the premises being very talkative. I hope people read comments since from a previous guest I was made aware of it, same about previously reading in the comments about the 2 floors to climb to reach the room. We have no mobility issues so it wasn’t a problem for us, we were very happy to book. But people with heavy luggage and/or with frail knees wouldn’t be jolly about this.

Hotel room was exceptionally clean & spacious, though there was a space behind the door that we thought was wasted space. Looked a bit weird, maybe put the wardrobe there? Instead of next to the window. The view from the window looked out onto a rooftop beer garden that is no longer used, luckily! Otherwise ppl could see in. Not enough tea/coffee/milk to make a drink. Bed very comfortable Breakfast was plentiful & delicious 😋 Staff friendly. The building looked really nice & big with a pub downstairs. Would definitely stay here again. Booked this hotel as we were invited to a friend's birthday party & it was close to where we needed to go, 15 min walk, it's also close to the shops, beach & leisure centre.

Owners so kind and helpful. Attentive, and carried heavy bags as lots of stairs. Location perfect for us as needed to be by the high street yet close to beach for dog walk. Bed very comfy. Being realistic you get what you pay for.. it is a cheap night away, yes there was loud music but we joined in, yes was dated but was low fee. The building is beautiful and must cost a lot to maintain back to its glory days. The stair case is insane and craftsmanship in the woodwork beautiful. The restaurant area is also a wonderful mix of cultures. Sadly I don’t think it’s appreciated by the locals

Lovely clean and tidy hotel and room. The staff were friendly and it was easy to check in late (but before 11pm) despite the doors being locked as they were around in the bar area and there is a number to call if they aren’t. The breakfast was good and very affordable for a Royal Hotel! The location is excellent being in central Sheerness

The main light in the room didn’t work so had to rely on using the lights next to the beds. Hot water in the shower takes a while to come through. No one at the reception desk most of the time but it was easy to drop the key off in the box after the stay. Also be aware the hotel bar closes early! No hotel parking available

It was a good place for the money. Very carrying people. Great food! Truly dog friendly. £15 for a dog accommodation. My dog was able to have meals with me in the restaurant. It's unusual in UK. Usually I have to eat at reception. The building is 200 years old with big rooms and a big bath. Probably more suitable for younger people over weekend due to the music night downstairs. I will definitely come back.

The location. A nice historical building. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. A very comfortable mattress on a kingsize bed.

The room and bathroom were very basic, the curtain was hanging off the hooks which I climbed up and hooked them back in place. Very rattly windows (old sash style) we had to use paper to jam the windows, otherwise would not have been able to sleep.

Convenient location that is quite easy to find and has shops surrounding it. It's very good for a quick night out, plus it has a pub at the bottom of the building. Heated floors in the bathroom as well.

Above the bed, there is a weird white railing that makes it uncomfortable to fit up right as it sticks into your back. Also, the pillows are quite thin as well as the covers. Mattress and bed itself are very comfy, though. Stunk of tobacco on our floor, but I put that to the fact that the smokers spot is right outside. It didn't smell in the room, which is the most important thing.

The building was very historical and had a lot of it's original features. Although located on top of a pub, it was not an issue for us. Restaurant was nicely decorated. Staff friendly and polite.

As out of season, breakfast was limited to full English or toast. Food tasted okay, but could have been warmer / hotter. Also would recommend some background music in the restaurant.

Our second stay at the hotel, the renovation works are indeed making it an even more lovely place. Staff very friendly and professional, breakfast very good and abundant. A nice, warm welcome back and another very pleasant stay.

A very pleasant stay for four nights in a family-run hotel. A quiet break out of season gave us the opportunity to enjoy personally-prepared dinners. The price was appropriate for the level of comfort. The location is a stone’s throw away from the town centre and railway station while a two-minute walk leads you to a Blue Flag beach. The hotel, which is a listed building, has much character appeal, although some of the décor could do with updating. This is not a hotel of flat-pack standardised furniture that gets ripped out and replaced every few months. Some furniture was quite dated and the shower initially had a small leak (this was immediately rectified), but all was in good working order and, most importantly, clean. Often such buildings are quite cold, however this was not the case here and despite staying mid Spring, no expense was spared on heating. The staff are fantastic and no request is too much bother, whether it is extra towels, herbal teas or advice on finding a local garage. The breakfasts are hearty and dinner is a la carte and cooked to order, with traditional pub classics on the menu, as well as Sri Lankan specialities. Our stay coincided with Tamil New Year and we were treated to a delicious rice Kiribati.
