Upon entering the lobby, a flowery scent filled the reception area. The lovely receptionist Ingela, was attentive to us, giving us insightful details on local fun attractions. She was so kind to give my three babies, ice- cream vouchers, and my elderly mother and I, a drinks and snack vouchers which instantly made our long road trip not so bad haha lol. The two rooms we stayed in, were clean, with a decent size double bed and comfy sofa bed, a TV, reading table, chair and storage cupboard. We even had a mini fridge, which was great to store water. Breakfast was a bit pricey at £12 per adult, but kids eat free. There was large selection of food and everyone was happy and full. The bed was super comfy, and we slept well, even though it was close to the live airport. The only downside was the water in the bath was slow going down the sink and there was strange water pressure noise or air con sound switching on and off during the night. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we felt so welcomed and want to say big thank you to Ingela and her colleague that gave my mother extra hot water during breakfast to use for her medication, and the bar hostess that gave me an extra shot with our well needed cocktail haha lol. It is the little things that make a difference, and help ease traveling with babies and an elderly parent ;-). We will definitely be returning soon for a longer stay.

The staff were excellent and very helpful. Usually when you read previous reviews they don't always match what you, yourself experience, however, this hotel was excellent in all aspects. Having one of the premier rooms with airport views was fab. Location was very good as Southend is a very busy place and we were so pleased we didn't go to a hotel in town as parking was very poor at some other hotels. The food served in the restaurant both in the mornings and in the evening were varied and tasty. We had booked a deal with dinner included which was very good value for money. We would stay here again and have let friends know about it.

Everything about the hotel. Friendly staff. Loved that.

The restaurant. There was nothing on there that I wanted. A very over priced steak. Lots of garlicky food, which I am allergic to. One burger. 🤨. It was my Wifes Birthday Celebration, and we left the restaurant, very flat. And went to a nearby restaurant.. I was also told by reception, that. If I did not exceed the tab a set up in the bar. The difference would be refunded. I cannot believe that 4 drinks emptied my tab. Bernard Melly. Call me if you want more.

Clean room, nice bedding including pillows, comfortable bed, good breakfast, nice staff, food/snacks nice, nice hotel, quiet location, the family bedroom with a good size second bed,

The shower's temperature was very inconsistent, going from cold to hot each second so very unpleasant, the sink in the bathroom is blocked...water going down very slowly, parts of the bath apparatus just fell off without being touched, £10 parking was not great, parking ticket to be handed over to reception every time we left the hotel so it can be validated, TV could be updated with new one with apps. The channels available were very basic.

The staff were all very friendly. The food I had in the evening was absolutely divine. A 2-course meal at a good price and very tasty.

Breakfast. There were plenty of good options to choose from, though. I just thought for the fry up the bacon and sausages weren't for me.

Quiet hotel, nice room with good views, very comfortable bed and bedding. Good breakfast. Very convenient for the airport and train station.

No breakfast bread rolls! Must be sorted, they used to be and is needed with cheese and cold cuts. Four star hotels do. Better choice of eateries within an easy walk, but the hotel can't do anything about that. Only relevant for guests who don't have a car and stay for several days.

Buffet breakfast was fabulous. Staff were excellent, from having a laugh with us to going the extra mile, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely large room. Full length mirror. Well stocked bar. Great views from the restaurant.

The mattress was a bit of a roll together. The mirror by the dressing table was fabulous if you were sitting but not suitable if you were standing. When it was busy there was sometimes a long wait at reception to get the car park ticket validation.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. The Hotel TV page was most helpful. The location suited our needs and was good value for money. The breakfast was self service and well cooked. Decaffeinated drink options was a bonus.

Not enough milk for more than one hot drink in the room. The member of staff who served us at breakfast failed to advise us of the process of the self serve system for breakfast, we had to ask her; however, we noticed other members of staff asking their clients if they had breakfasted there before.

Phil particularly liked the airport view Staff were very helpful at breakfast,getting any thing extra quickly and without fuss. We came to visit friends and family and as we didn’t bring the car trains and buses were close by and frequent. We liked that the toiletries were in dispensers still nice quality but less single use plastics.

Breakfast eggs were hard after being under heat lamp. However staff were able to get boiled eggs for me which were cooked perfectly.
