Staying at the Roslin Beach Hotel was an absolute joy. When we booked our trip to the UK last November we wanted a hotel that was close to our daughter & son-in-law. It is a small boutique hotel (62 rooms) situated in a lovely neighborhood. Since we don’t travel often, we like to treat ourselves when we do & the Roslin did not disappoint. We decided to book an ‘executive king with sea view & balcony’ for April & our daughter laughed since the weather in April is usually quite cool & rainy. Well, Mother Nature was on our side and for 10 glorious days & nights we were treated to sunshine & warm temperatures. We used that balcony every morning & evening and the view of the sea was spectacular. The room was large & beautifully decorated with a sitting area, desk & large screen TV. The spacious bathroom had both a Victorian clawfoot tub and a large shower with a rainfall shower head. Other amenities included a blow dryer, iron & ironing board, safe, mini bar, robes & slippers and a coffee maker & kettle with a selection of coffees, teas & biscuits. At the time of booking we decided to get a full breakfast included and we were so glad we did. The breakfast room was sunny & inviting and the food was always fresh and delicious. Our favourite dish was the waffles wth fresh fruit & cream but there was a large selection to choose from & the continental breakfast (included for all guests) had a large selection of pastries & fresh orange juice as well. Lea always greeted us with a warm & friendly smile and also was kind enough to arrange for us to get our breakfast early the last morning as we needed to get to the airport early(Gatwick) which was several hours away. All the servers & staff especially Zamira (Xamira?) & Mihayla (Mihaila?)(sorry if I’ve misspelled your names) were friendly & attentive and always made sure to find us the perfect table by a window.

I have lived in Southend a lot of my life and have often driven or walked past the Rosilin . My husband and I booked to celebrate our ruby wedding. We loved the room and I chose the executive suite with balcony . It was lovely waking up to sea view and having breakfast in our room extra special. We were touched by the little things like the note in our room congratulating us , plus petals on the bed and the complimentary Bellinis we were given with our breakfast . The room is immaculate and tastefully decorated with a lovely seating area looking out over the balcony and sea .

The room was spacious with all the amenities you required. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and a good selection at breakfast. The hotel was very welcoming.

Parking. Arrived late evening and car park was full. It was a large car park but was full, mostly with people dining at the hotel. We had to park a 10 minute walk away. It may be good if there is an area for hotel residents or you could reserve a bay. In the Winter local roads have no parking restrictions but in the Summer restrictions are in place so would be difficult to find alternative parking.

We had a lovely luxurious stay. As we mentioned it was a special event on the booking form, the Roslin upgraded us to a luxury room for no charge. I particularly liked that a gramophone and records were provided in the room. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent.

There was no sense of a required dress code in any part of the dining area; vests, extensive tattoos and scruffy jeans proliferated; this rather detracted from the ambience and was completely out of keeping with the 5-star cuisine

The location, good parking, welcoming, accommodating staff throughout the hotel. Great breakfast, lovely meal in brasserie, comfortable bed in room with complimentary tea/ coffee, soft drinks, biscuits, toiletries.

Rude customer having a loud conversation on his phone in breakfast area, using foul language. Unacceptable, especially with children present. Felt maybe he could have been asked by staff to take his conversation elsewhere. Spoilt what was otherwise an excellent breakfast.

The staff were so kind, caring and professional. Finn (I hope this is correctly spelled) kindly took our suitcase to our room, the reception lady gave us some pastries and coffee as we had paid for two nights bed and breakfast but due to a family crisis we were only able to check in on the second day we had paid for. The lovely lady in the dining area kindly made us some lovely coffee and looked after us so well on the following morning when we were able to have the lovely breakfast. She was very professional and very caring.

The room was a small double but it was tiny, you had to walk sideways between the bed and the wall to get to the bathroom. In our opinion it was a single room. It was clean and the bed was comfortable but so small.

This is the third time we have stayed here. The staff are always superb and go the extra mile. The rooms are always very clean and the food on offer is always delicious and there is even a vegan menu. There was no additional charge for room service which was good. The Elemis bath products are great too.

It was possible to hear the person next door whilst they were on the phone. I think this room may have been an interconnecting suite as there was a locked door in the room, so perhaps a little bit more soundproofing would be better but this wasn't too much of an issue so I didn't fell the need to tell staff about it.

This was my second visit staying (fourth to the actual hotel and I brought my elderly father for the first time who loved it. We both had balconies which I loved as you can just sit with a tea or wine and relax. We came on the train and it was so easy to get the bus from Southend Victoria. We all had a lovely lunch and went to the bar area in the evening when my daughter arrived. It was lovely to be waited on. Breakfast as always is good and the walks around Thorpe Bay enjoyable. The rooms are always exceptional and the staff are always very helpful. Thank you to the male staff member on reception (apologies on not taking his name) who helped explain how to make stays easier if your father's hearing aid is not particular good! I had not travelled without my mother previous to this trip so needed a bit of advice on travelling with an elderly parent.

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel. The room was large, with a balcony and even a record player. We had breakfast, dinner and drinks at the hotel, which were all fabulous. There is a wide range of cocktails, and the mango pina colada is particularly good. They also have a vegan menu where there are a lot of options, and the staff are very knowledgeable about the menu. Customer service is exemplary, and the hotel is immaculately clean. There were also high-quality, Elemis products in the bathroom.

The light from the corridor and the electronic control panel means the room is not that dark when trying to sleep. All of the food was superb but the margherita pizza was slightly mediocre in comparison.

Our room was spacious and even included a small terrace garden, the bar,lounge had a lovely buzz, it was busy but not noisy, the restaurant was superb, staff were very attentive without being intrusive, we travelled with our dog and were accommodated in a room that was spotlessdogog bowls and a dog bed were provided. There were certain areas where dogs were allowed i.e. the bar,ounge and areas where they are not which was as expected.

A complimentary coffee machine was provided but was located inside a unit which made it difficult to use, a bathroom mirror had a light built in which we couldn't turn off.
