The breakfast was always cooked to an exceptional standard. The breakfast menu and availability was excellent and the staff were absolutely fantastic. The hotel was located at a great location,local transport was nearby. The bedroom was located as requested,upper floor and it met ALL our requirements. Very clean, superb views,natural sunlight coming into all of the room from different angles. The bed was very comfortable and the location was very quiet. The electric shower was extremely powerful and efficient. The bar and the food was outstanding ,very good quality,all at a reasonable price.All the staff and local users of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We picked this hotel for our 30th(Pearl) wedding anniversary and we couldn’t ask for any more in our celebrations. We will definitely be visiting this hotel in the very near future. We would like to congratulate and thank “ALL”concerned with their hard work in making our visit absolutely fantastic!!. Many fond memories which will be precious forever.****THANK YOU****

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, and pillows. The breakfasts ( full English) superb . Plenty of choice ,to cater for everyone. We also had meals from the hotel bar / restaurant in the evenings.I would recommend the food and prices are very reasonable too. The hotel is situated just a 5 minute walk from the bus stop.From here you can visit Whitby ,Scarborough etc. The staff here are very friendly and helpful, from the bar staff to breakfast staff.

A little noisy on Tuesday night,a band on.Our room directly above. We had been aware before booking ,having read the reviews. Something to be aware of. However, It did not spoil our stay.

We loved our stay at the Grosvenor. Delicious breakfast served every morning of our stay, the room was very spacious and clean. It was a little noisy on the Tuesday night (live singers play here on Tuesdays but it didn’t bother us at all as the live singer we heard sounded great) Lovely evening meals are served here too, I have to say the Grosvenor burger was a huge favourite of mine. The staff were very friendly and chatty too. I don’t have any complaints at all about my stay here as I enjoyed every single minute of it. The Grosvenor hotel is a 10/10 for me. I’m definitely returning here.

As a location we couldn't have asked for more. It was an easy walk to the beautiful little town and right on top of the Cleveland Way which is what we were there for. The guy who checked us in was really welcoming and professional and the breakfast in the morning was great.

There was live music that night (Tuesday) that was still loud from our room. Some may have found that a nuisance. However, they had finished their performance by the time I got into bed so it was no problem at all for me.

The room we was in room 2 first floor was lovely however at times it was very noisy coming from the ground floor on the second night of our stay we were rudely awoken at the early hours of the morning 3.40am by whom we were led to believe was the owners son ? scraping a ladder through the back yard and clattering against his bedroom wall then climbing up onto an air condition unit opened his window then jumped through into the bedroom which caused unrest as at the time we believed this was a burglar , next morning we brought this up with a member of staff who said she would get the owner to contact us as she new this had been a very upsetting incident unfortunately that contact never came

The room and indeed all the areas I saw were exceptionally clean, well maintained and well decorated in neutral colour schemes and pleasant artwork. The mattress was sooo comfortable, toiletries in the shower room were a nice touch too. The staff at breakfast were professional and friendly. My breakfast was piping hot and there was a good selection at the buffet. I would definately return. For its price it is a lovely hotel to stay at.

The windows could have been a bit cleaner and as my room was above the breakfast room I could hear there was music being played from below from 8.30 inwards. Didnt mind as I wanted breakfast anyway. It was good too.

We would have liked to sit in the bar at the night but the music was enough to make our ears bleed. It was terrible too. We ate in the ‘restaurant’ room but it was totally devoid of character and orders had to be put in at the bar. The person taking the orders really struggled to hear us and we couldn’t hear her at all. It would have made more sense if the orders were taken where we were eating. I definitely would not eat there again.

Booked what said was a "budget" room but it was far from budget. It was a good size for just one person. Room was an attic room with a slanted roof and dorma window which opened fully for fresh air. I believe the bed was a Queen, lovely decor and very fresh, bathroom was clean and big with a great bath/shower combo and a window that opened to let all the steam out. Towels were lovely and fluffy and the supplied toiletries were great to use.

The kettle had water in it from previous occupants which should really have been cleaned out and the mix-match of coat hangers in the wardrobe is a bit rubbish considering the cost of plastic hangers to have them all the same.

Young man who I met at the bar on arrival (no welcome) told me breakfast was 8.00 to 9.30 and no earlier breakfast possible even continental. Nonetheless, I went for breakfast at 7.30, raised a lady in kitchen and was helped, reluctantly at first but with charm after their surprise.

The young man I met could benefit from some customer service training, but he was very hard working in the bar restaurant. I opted for two starters at dinner - tiger prawns and seared pigeon breast. Both were outstanding.

Good location, across the road from station car park which cost me £7.50 for 24hrs parking. We stayed in the family room number 10 which was nice, comfy beds and clean.

Only annoying thing was at breakfast there wasn’t enough 4 seated tables for me and my children to all sit together, too many 2 seated tables meaning I had to sit with my youngest at one side of the room and my other 2 children were sat away from us at the other side of the room. Also breakfast fruit and cereals were all cleared away before we had finished, my youngest wanted cereal and then fruit but by the time he’d finished his first bowl of cereal the other cereal and fruit had all been put away even though there were still people eating!
