Rooms were beautifully furnished, comfortable and clean. We stayed in a cottage and it was great to have a lounge area to relax in as we stayed 4 nights. Spa was gorgeous and clean and treatment was wonderful. Breakfasts were lovely and the dining areas were really nice too. Our room was extremely hot on arrival and we struggled to sleep the first night but after we managed to turn the underfloor heating off it wasn’t too bad for the rest of the stay. Everything was very expensive from the mini bar snacks to the brasserie. We only ate in the brasserie once during our stay so agree with other review that a more lighter/cheaper dining option would have been welcomed.

Loved the hotel. Welcome drink on arrival was a lovely touch. Staff are very attentive and friendly. The size of the room was great. Large Comfortable bed. Liked the fridge and the safe in the room.
Quilt was a bit smal for the bed. Extra cost of £45 each to use spa and pool due to booking through booking.com. I don't mind a dog friendly hotel, but there should be rules, such as no dogs on the furniture and certainly not being fed whilst sitting on a chair with paws on the table. Lots of staff interacted with the dog whilst it was sat at the table and didn't ask the owner to keep it on the floor. And owners should not allow dogs to jump up at other guests. Orangery benching at the tables is extremely uncomfortable, and some of the easy chairs are too low to eat at the table.

My son and I stayed at the beach house which is a 2 minute walk from the main hotel and spa. We chose a double room with a terrace and a big bath outside on the terrace. My son is 6 and we both loved everything about this place, I don't know where to start. We filled the bath with bath pearls and used it like a jacoozi / paddling pool and sat in the sun on the terrace. We got a buggy ride for fun up to the main building and had a lovely dinner in the Orangery which is very child and pet friendly. We walked around the beautiful grounds with its lakes and bridges. A lovely treat for us both. The only down sides were our room was too hot during the night, and there were construction works going on which is a bit off putting if you don't know in advance because it's not a cheap place to stay. The staff are lovely and they put a birthday card out for my son. You can walk to the beach easily I was told but we stayed in the grounds as it was such a lovely day. Most people I know would not want to spend as much money for one night but for us it was a treat and an experience and only an hour and a half from home. As an interior designer it was also a chance for me to see the refurb as it had been featured in one of my interiors magazines which is why I had found it. Thank you.

The food is amazing , and the rooms are amazing
The only reason I booked to stay here for that price was to use the spa , that was down all my stay only the pool was open ,

The weather forecast didn’t look too good, but as we drove south the rain was moving north and we had 2 beautiful days. This was our first stay in the Main House and was very impressed. As always the staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Will be back.
My wife and I are 76yrs old and the shower over the bath was not perfect but we managed,I should have asked for a walk in,otherwise the stay was excellent.

Lovely, relaxing atmosphere throughout. We stayed in the Beach House and really enjoyed our room with the outdoor bath—highly recommend it! It's just a short walk to Sandsend Beach and the town, and only a brief drive into Whitby. The staff at the Beach House were especially friendly, and the overall vibe was peaceful and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again but eat elsewhere in the evening.
Spa and pool access was £45 per person for two hours, which felt a bit high for the time allowed. Food and drink were also quite pricey—£17 starters and £29 for a simple drink order. Our evening meal came to £160 with just two drinks each. While the food was good, it didn’t quite match the premium pricing. We chose to skip breakfast, which was £25 per person without drinks, as it didn’t feel like great value. Room service for light snacks or drinks was not available for us, but there was a small bar at the beach house, it just didn’t offer cocktails.

Everything about Saltmoore was lovely. From the friendly greeting upon arrival to our beautiful Room. Staff were very helpful and made me feel welcome and comfortable staying just me and my daughter. We loved the spa facilities and the food was excellent too. The hotel was very quiet and perfect for a relaxing break.
It was a shame we had to pay so much for use of the pool..my daughter only swam for an hour each time and I thought £45 was a bit much for that, I appreciated the booking system however as I felt with a full hotel the spa would have been over crowded. So that was a good system in place. Perfect for couples and the spa really is lovely.

Stayed here multiple times, and it's a fabulous hotel! I will be booking directly with the hotel in the future though. I booked on here as I always have when it was called Raithwaite estate, and was told that booking via a 3rd party does not include the use of the pool and spa facilities, and it was an extra £45 per person for the duration of the stay. Other than that, I had an excellent stay as per usual. Great staff, lovely hotel and grounds. Excellent location too.

Staff were fabulous, They were very attentive. Hotel was calm and clean and in a lovely peaceful setting. Classic room with private balcony was stunning the underfloor heating and easy controls for the room and bathroom were appreciated. Breakfast was amazing, plenty of choices available and everything else that we didn't have looked superb. Little game options like cards etc on tables in the bar area was also a lovely touch that we very much enjoyed whilst sampling a few drinks.
Nothing to dislike from us at all and we are very much looking forward to booking again in June.

Hotel is lovely and staff very friendly. The food in the brasserie was amazing. There were a couple of things which let it down sadly but putting this down to not having been open for long. Booked a classic room and whilst amazing decor thought it was quite small. The bed wasn’t overly comfortable and would benefit from a mattress topper. We ordered cocktails pre dinner and they were poorly presented and didn’t taste very nice. It is in a stunning position though and may go back once they have established themselves a bit more.
