Large attractive room with a nice comfortable bed. Good food well- executed in the restaurant, lounge bar very nice

Cafetiere coffee was a bit of a faff so maybe coffee bags would be good if they don't want to use pod machines for eco reasons - found the underfloor heatng very difficult to manoeuvre- seemed to come on for a v shortwhile then go off again. Room a bit stark maybe could have done with a couple of cushions for the chairs. Lounge bar was cold and no heating at all on, though staff are very friendly service was quite slow at times Seems mad to stay at a hotel which bills itself as a wellness place yet charge you a further £45 pp to use the facilities - can understand paying for treatments but have never been charged for using a pool/sauna in a hotel not even in the five- star London places.

The receptionist was lovely, had to change rooms when we arrived as our room overlooked the food outside area, there was lots of children and dogs barking so wasn't ideal, got a room change to 205 which was perfect. Food was outstanding, lovely man served us for breakfast, he was super friendly. The Australian lady in the spa is a credit to your hotel, her service was outstanding.

Apart from the room change, the amount of children and dogs wasn't brilliant, no big issue but the pool area was full of children splashing around at 5pm which forced us to move out of the pool area, dogs I love, however some of them were not brilliantly trained and not ideal having food in the restaurant with panting hot dogs next to you while you eat!

Rooms were beautifully furnished, comfortable and clean. We stayed in a cottage and it was great to have a lounge area to relax in as we stayed 4 nights. Spa was gorgeous and clean and treatment was wonderful. Breakfasts were lovely and the dining areas were really nice too. Our room was extremely hot on arrival and we struggled to sleep the first night but after we managed to turn the underfloor heating off it wasn’t too bad for the rest of the stay. Everything was very expensive from the mini bar snacks to the brasserie. We only ate in the brasserie once during our stay so agree with other review that a more lighter/cheaper dining option would have been welcomed.

Beautifully designed and refurbished. Beach house very pleasant and dog friendly which was great. The outdoor bath was lovely. The grounds were beautifully kept.

I felt that £45 each for 2 hours spa access slot was very steep. Especially since it wasn’t a very spa-like experience as there were a lot of children in the pool, they were just being kids but it was at odds with what we’d hoped for. I don’t think it’s clear from the listing that the pool and lounger area is open to children. For this reason, although I would return, I wouldn’t return to the spa. Just a little note, I would have loved a welcome email to tell us where to go as we went to the main reception rather than the beach house. Also quite a long walk in robes in the rain to the spa which is at the main building, from the beach house. The only comms received was something to tell us to book the spa.

Loved the hotel. Welcome drink on arrival was a lovely touch. Staff are very attentive and friendly. The size of the room was great. Large Comfortable bed. Liked the fridge and the safe in the room.

Quilt was a bit smal for the bed. Extra cost of £45 each to use spa and pool due to booking through booking.com. I don't mind a dog friendly hotel, but there should be rules, such as no dogs on the furniture and certainly not being fed whilst sitting on a chair with paws on the table. Lots of staff interacted with the dog whilst it was sat at the table and didn't ask the owner to keep it on the floor. And owners should not allow dogs to jump up at other guests. Orangery benching at the tables is extremely uncomfortable, and some of the easy chairs are too low to eat at the table.

My son and I stayed at the beach house which is a 2 minute walk from the main hotel and spa. We chose a double room with a terrace and a big bath outside on the terrace. My son is 6 and we both loved everything about this place, I don't know where to start. We filled the bath with bath pearls and used it like a jacoozi / paddling pool and sat in the sun on the terrace. We got a buggy ride for fun up to the main building and had a lovely dinner in the Orangery which is very child and pet friendly. We walked around the beautiful grounds with its lakes and bridges. A lovely treat for us both. The only down sides were our room was too hot during the night, and there were construction works going on which is a bit off putting if you don't know in advance because it's not a cheap place to stay. The staff are lovely and they put a birthday card out for my son. You can walk to the beach easily I was told but we stayed in the grounds as it was such a lovely day. Most people I know would not want to spend as much money for one night but for us it was a treat and an experience and only an hour and a half from home. As an interior designer it was also a chance for me to see the refurb as it had been featured in one of my interiors magazines which is why I had found it. Thank you.

The food is amazing , and the rooms are amazing

The only reason I booked to stay here for that price was to use the spa , that was down all my stay only the pool was open ,

Such a fabulous location and the staff are exceptional in all areas of the hotel. This is our second time to stay this year and we loved it just as much as the first ! The location is great, the Sunday bbq was just lovely and the room was spacious and had everything you needed with a wonderfully comfy bed !

The only thing I didn’t like which spoilt a part of our stay… we booked for the sunday BBQ which is where you would have breakfast. We were unable to have a space outside so we sat inside on the green long sofa in the conservatory, dogs are obviously allowed to sit on the sofa too as it was filthy with stains and marks , dog hairs all over and we had to sit with our lovely clothes on it ! It needs a very good clean and surely people should be told to keep their animals off the sofa and furniture. It could do with a very good clean as it is very off putting especially when you would be eating.

Most of the staff are great and friendly (with the exception of a couple in the restaurant where communication was difficult). The rooms are always nice and clean and the location is great.

The evening meal was average at best. The food has really gone downhill since the rebrand from Raithwaite to Saltmoore. I ordered the grilled chicken, it was pink and slimy and I really wasn’t impressed. There was no discount offered at all, I really should have refused to pay. You can’t charge premium prices and deliver average food. I will come back to the hotel but I won’t be dining there in the evening anymore . I enjoyed the breakfast though that was nice.

We loved everything about this hotel and are looking forward to going back in the very near future for a longer stay. The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly, the restaurant was great (a couple of tiny glitches but nothing major), the food was good, breakfast was lovely. The room was large and very comfortable, and based on our last stay we will almost certainly upgrade next time, just for the fun of it. Initially we thought it was a bit pricey but in all honesty it is worth every penny. Rarely so impressed. Looking forward to using the spa next time, as we couldn't fit it in on this occasion, but it looks great.

There was nothing we didn't like. Anyone would be hard pushed to find anything in this hotel they didn't like.
