Roomy dainton suit. Comfortable. Clean. Amazing huge bath. Quiet room. Ironing board. Iron. Hair drier. Shower gel. Soft towels. Bigs rooms. 2 additional walk in shower rooms. Not too hot. Our 4 stay and will continue to stay each year due to location to children’s hospital.

Booked for 4 people. Only left 2 bottles of water. Had to call down for another 2. Which were supplies. £9 additional parking charge for 24 hours n some had taken 2 spaces leaving a very limited space in the car park. We book this room every year when visiting the children’s hospital. This year the price had increased by over £40. Coffee machine in foyer should be free to over night guests instead of £3.50 per cup.

The staff were very engaging and the reception was super friendly from the moment I arrived until departing. Breakfast there is exceptional. Room was great and the bathroom shower facility suited me.

Not an unlike, but having stayed in Sheffield on a few occasions, this was the first hotel I have stayed in that did not have a hotel bar. Rather an order a drink from the reception facility. The effect of this, especially for the individual guest, is the lack of social gathering you get when meeting people in a bar atmosphere. Having said that I did meet some lovely people in the evenings sitting on the few tables at the outside area of the hotel. Shame we all didn't have a chance to engage in a more comfortable hotel bar.

Its a very charming hotel in an ideal location with great staff and transport links the mattresses are very comfortable and the single rooms a brilliant size the communal areas are lovely and welcoming just like the receptionist who welcomed us

The cleanliness of my room was a bit shabby there were body hairs in the bathroom on the sink and the floor/toilet Also there were damp patches in one corner above the lopsided tv that to be honest was hung very poorly and looks unstable with wires everywhere. Also the choice of an extra pillow would really help as the one small flat one was extremely hard and lumpy

We stayed in the suite and it was very spacious and clean. The shower was great and the bath was huge and very comfortable! The hotel itself was in a great location, the staff were lovely and the freshly cooked and made to order breakfast was exceptional. Decor wise it could do with a bit of modernisation; although it did have an overall rustic feel to the place so I can understand why they wouldn’t want to reduce that.

The only reason I’m not giving it a 10 out 10 is because of the two reasons that I feel could be easily rectified. First off, the tv wasn’t a smart tv. I think a suite of that size and in this day and age a smart tv should be a given. The second reason is that pillows on the bed were very flimsy and again, when staying in a suite I would expect a bit more luxury.

Our stay here was just for one night as I had an appointment at the Hallamshire hospital which was a very comfortable 5 minute walk away the room we had was very large with a double bath and huge shower and a huge comfortable bed the full English breakfast was very nice which also included tea/coffee juices toast cereals and toaster the staff were warm and welcoming There is a charge of £9 for 24 hours I would definitely recommend this hotel and I'll definitely be booking again when I have to go back to the hospital for my treatment Thank you Rutland Hotel for a wonderful stay x

If I was to be very picky they didn't have a lift

The room was comfortable and spacious, tucked away down a bit of a maze of corridors and steps. Bathroom was a good size and everything was clean. Breakfast consisted of a good range of cereals, tea, coffee, yogurt, fruit etc, toast and cooked items, and gluten free options were available on request. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and they were happy to refund one breakfast when my partner was ill and stayed in the room. Late checkout worked well and the parking was convenient and, although not a secure area, there was CCTV overlooking the lot. Overall a good option for a night or two with public transport nearby and walking distance to shopping, restaurants and pubs.

Breakfast was absolutely lovely & well worth £10. The bed was lovely & comfy Staff were all very friendly from reception to in the dining room & the cleaners. (They hadn't got our booking/reservation from Booking.com which sent me into a panic but we were given a complimentary drink & within 15 minutes they'd found us another room.)

Parking is very limited. Both car parks were full 1/2 hour after checking in. (Luckily we could park on the road free as it was a Sunday & Bank Hol Monday.) Lots of parts of the hotel need some TLC. The breakfast room especially - missing lampshades off the light fitting, wallpaper hanging off, huge damp patches on the ceiling. The USB charger sockets in the room didn't work, only 1 bedside lamp worked. Shower was lovely but flooded the bathroom floor (shower screen not big enough) . Curtains didn't quite meet & we were woken up by a big glare of sunshine in our faces in bed. Everywhere needs a fresh lick of paint - the doors, skirting boards etc.

Staff at the Rutland Hotel go above and beyond to make sure you have a comfortable stay. I was on a first solo trip with my five month old baby and was struggling to put up his travel cot and a member of staff came to help me. Another member of staff helped me carry the buggy down to the breakfast room. The rooms are clean and spacious and for an extra £10 a day you can have a cooked English breakfast!

Rooms could do with a bit of updating, there’s not enough plug sockets and the lights near the beds buzz quite loudly when you turn them on.

Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, large room, great location for the Hospital and pubs/cafes etc. Nice blackout curtains, big new radiators in the room, tea/coffee facilities, TV working well, lots of pillows, clean bedding, nice hot shower. I reported a flickering lightbulb and it was changed instantly.

The shower gel hadn't been topped up and I was already wet by the time I realised. The tiled shower base had missing grout and didn't have the correct angle on it to drain properly, I left a note for the staff to let them know it needs regrouting although it's probably best removed and replaced with a formed tray.
