the Dinner was excellent, good value and well presented. The service in the dining room was attentive. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Very pleasant and peaceful pleasant surroundings to wander around. We particularly liked the lake with its islands.

Internal decorations and furnishings are looking a little dated. The common parts had an institutional feel. The breakfast was bad. Piles of greasy bacon and slippery hard fried eggs cooked earlier were desperately trying to keep warm under heaters. No fresh yoghurt and poor fresh fruit offering.

Great location, very nice surroundings. The room was clean and comfortable, and while we didn't need our room cleaned a bundle of fresh towels, toiletries and tea/coffee were left by our door every day in case we needed them. Food was very good, plenty available for the breakfast buffet, and there were good options on the dinner menu. We used the pool & jacuzzi while we were there, both were clean and pleasant.

Bit of a minor annoyance to walk between buildings to get to the restaurant when the weather is unpleasant, but it's not a great distance so not a huge problem.

Clean & comfortable, staff were pleasant. Great buffet style breakfast. Spa was small but very relaxing, we purchased a Twilight Spa evening just after we checked in.

Wifi was an issue, we couldn’t get it at all when we were in our room (courtyard) I enquired about the spa before we stayed, only to be told they didn’t know & just gave me the telephone ext number. It would be more helpful if staff were aware of spa offers for hotel guests as basically it was £35 for a morning/afternoon/evening.

A great overnight stay to break our journey. Despite an initial issue with Internet connection in our room, the staff were able to relocate us. Our room was a long walk from there reception area, but in all honesty, this probably insured a quiet night stay. The room was comfortable and clean. A huge bed and nice to have a bath. We loved the pool and surrounding areas. So much better than many places we’ve stayed in. It all seemed to be pretty well maintained, especially considering this early on in the year. The grounds are stunning. Must be even better in the sunny weather as we could see there were ample areas for outdoor seating. We used both the bar and the restaurant whilst there. On both occasions, the senior and Junior staff were extremely professional, helpful, and friendly - making us feel welcome. It’s a rare find especially, to have young people working in this environment who all seem to get on with each other and enjoy their work. Their efficiency shone through! Thank you to all. A short overnight stay to break our journey but a very happy one.

Disappointed that there were no bottles of water in the room. Other stays on our trip have provided a coffee machine also but maybe we need it to upgrade to get this. We were told by reception, we could get gowns from the spa area, only to find there was a charge of £16. We felt this could be included in the room cost, especially as the booking clearly stated the spa facilities were available to us.

Lovely property in a great location. We love to play the golf course. Room was lovely and clean and quiet until the party started by the pool. Went to Reception and they found a room in the opposite corridor and although you could still hear the music it was nothing like it was. We have stayed many times and we have never had a problem with noise. Staff in the bar area were friendly and helpful.

Tea and coffee at breakfast were served in large vacuum flasks. Some staff could be more friendly.

The library for some peaceful reading, the tranquil lake area and ease of parking.

Would not recommend staying in room 223. Angled ceiling caused me to hit my head on two occasions. Sarah and Stance's wedding in the Arden room on our last night woke us at 1.15.am with voices beneath our window at the entrance, followed around 1.50.am the sound of trolleys carrying crockery etc as they rattled along. Credit/debit card service only.

We stayed on the second floor in the modern block across the courtyard from the main hotel building. This building has the 'wedding' reception rooms on the ground floor. The room was spacious and comfortable with nice views. The breakfast was buffet style and was decent but not exceptional. The breakfast room was light and airy with nice views over the gardens. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but visited nearby Henley for an excellent Chinese meal. We used the tennis courts (which are bookable at the leisure centre reception) and they are excellent. This was the main reason for choosing the hotel and we weren't disappointed.

We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night in July so the hotel was very busy. On the Friday night there was a wedding as well as a separate event in another function room. Consequently it was very noisy until after midnight, even with the windows closed. To be expected for a hotel that provides weddings but something to bear in mind. It also seems to be popular with 'lads' golfing weekends so even though there was not a specific event on the Saturday night, we were still disturbed by guests returning to their rooms very drunk late at night. Again partly due to the fact that it was a very hot weekend, but having the windows open meant the chances of being disturbed were much greater. Recommend a white noise machine/app on your phone for weekend stays.

The Spa facilities were wonderful including an outdoor swimming pool. Guests can book 3 hours in the various saunas & outdoor pool for £25 pp. Individual treatments are also available. The grounds were spectacular. The small indoor pool & excellent gym are available free of charge.

There was no a/c in the room. Room was stuffy although it was an exceptionally hot day 33 degrees C. However staff quickly provided a fan when asked which helped.

Great location Great size of the room I was doing spa day whilst my partner went for a golf day out. Great course! Great spa facilities! But there is a catch. Spa access isn't for those that pay for a room. You got to pay separately 25£ for access to use outside pool and spa sauna and steam room etc. Included is only indoor pool and steam room. Suggestions to get destination spa and get spa treatment 25min, light lunch and access to spa facilities.

Warm welcome, great room - clean, large and good temperature. I love to be able to open a window, so I appreciated this too. There is a lovely spa/swimming pool. It's a beautiful place to stay.

Breakfast was ok, but I'd finished and left before anyone asked me about the promised cup of tea, but its a work stay so I wasn't being leisurely. No complaints really, its a lovely place to stay and I got a great rate.
