The ease of secure parking is excellent albeit 400 yard from the front door. The courtyard outside the room is a really nice space, especially so in the summer when you can sit outside your room.

Unfortunately dog owners are all the same. There are plenty of signs asking you to clean up after your dog and even a dog mess bin but there was still a pile left for some unsuspecting person to stand in. It was there when we arrived and even though cleaners were busy going past it, it was still there when we left the next day. One gripe was the shower over the bath. I'm quite tall but my wife isn't and the shower head is fixed just below the ceiling and has to be held by hand if you can reach it to get it down. Very inconvenient. Access for guests is through a delivery tunnel from the road and all the hotel and restaurant waste is stored there. Fish must have been on the menu because the smell was awful every time we had to go past it.

There was a good choice for breakfast suiting all our tastes, vegetarian, fruit, cereal, pastries, various types of cooked breakfasts, eggs as you like. The location was ideal for the castle, just a few minutes walk also for other tourist attractions too. There was a good menu for evening meals and the ambience was what lead us to stay and eat at The Old Fourpenny. We were not disappointed, we all had 3 courses and could not complain about anything. The staff were very accommodating, friendly, professional. Room was large and spacious, as was the bathroom. The car park was huge, although not on site.

The car park was free for our stay and the only negative, which really wasn’t a deal breaker was the short 2 minute walk to it, at the race course, but this was t a problem for us but could be if you had severe mobility issues.

Fabulous stay at the Four Penny. We highly recommend it. The pub and garden are beautiful. Lovely place to stay cool in the shade and have a drink. The rooms are very nice. Bed is comfortable and everything is thought of. Water, tea, coffee, cookies. They have it all there. Breakfast was perfect. Having fans in all the rooms was great considering it was super hot outside and the tavern was also quite warm.

Our only complaint was that the tub plug drain didn’t work. It leaked water out and was very difficult to get closed and open. I was so excited about the bath and in the end was disappointed. The tub would not hold water.

I spent a lot of time in my room during my four-night stay, and I couldn’t have been more comfortable. This hotel has the most amazing staff—truly going above and beyond to make your stay special. The restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious options, and the pub has everything your heart could desire. I enjoyed several different lunches and dinners, and the daily specials are absolutely worth trying—especially the smoked haddock mac & cheese, which was a standout! Breakfast is also a treat: generous, tasty, and with lots to choose from. My room was spacious, beautifully decorated, comfortable, and spotless. They thoughtfully provide coffee, tea, cocoa, and biscuits—lovely touches. The bathroom was also large and clean, with surprisingly luxurious washcloths and high-quality toiletries. All in all, a wonderful experience. I would absolutely stay here again.

Very welcome fan in the bedroom. Tea/coffee maker but the instructions were in the folder, probably better next to the machine. The extractor fan didn't seem to be working in the bathroom but still an excellent facility. Room was at the front of the building but still very quiet. The parking is very easily accessed and included in the room cost.. Lovely rear decking and comfortable chairs, however, at about 10pm, were asked to not sit near the outside annexe rooms. Inside bar area, also used for an excellent breakfast, were air conditioned - a very welcome facility when we visited..

The owners & staff are very friendly. I like all the different areas of seating weather your having a social drink or dining with family. very well decorated, The beautiful conservatory is lovely in summer & winter.the courtyard is lovely with some undercover seating very comfortable chairs. Benches decking & astro turf in different areas The rooms are very comfortable. I've been in a few. Food breakfast is lovely & the main menu i would recommend the steak 😋 👌 or the fish & chips the cheff is the best 👌 never had any problems.. Booking early is recommended for rooms or dining.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. There were lovely little touches such as fresh milk, a fridge, a table and chairs reserved outside. Breakfast was excellent- the food quality was first class. The pub is on a residential street that is not in the historic centre of Warwick but it’s only a short walk in to the centre and there was no noise at all so we had a great night’s sleep. Whilst there was some on street parking available outside the pub there were spaces reserved at the nearby race course car park.

A lovely side street pub with an extended area and large beer garden to the back which we didn’t use as it was February ! We were greeted warmly and check in was quick and easy , our room - number 2 -was large warm and comfortable with a large shower room and all of the promised amenities and a useful information folder was also available. We ate in the pub enjoying lovely home cooked food ( see photos!) and a choice of wines and ales all well kept. It is situated just off the Main Street and easy to find,we parked on street but you can also use the nearby racecourse parking , a short walk (10 mins) takes you to other pubs and eateries ! We slept well as the bed was extremely comfortable and h the room quiet and awoke to a plentiful breakfast with hot and cold choices served by pleasant friendly staff.

I personally would have preferred a kettle as there was a coffee maker in the room ( with instructions for use !) and I don’t drink coffee but I guess I could have asked if it had been desperate for a cuppa !!

From the moment we walked through the pub door we were pleased with everything. The pub was warm and friendly, our courtyard room (number 12) was clean, tidy, comfortable and had everything needed for an overnight stay. There is a coffee machine, water and biscuits and a kettle and milk on request. The bed was very comfy, we both had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was outstanding. There is cereal, fruit, yogurt, croissants and a hot breakfast cooked to order. The food was all high quality and tasty.. I had the vegetarian full English, the soft poached eggs had orange yolks which were yummy… the best I’ve had in years! My husband had the normal full English and he enjoyed that too. The jams were homemade and absolutely delicious. Free parking a few minutes walk away. Easy walking distance to the Castle and the small town centre.

Staff were excellent and did everything they could to ensure a comfortable stay for us. Nothing was a problem for them.The room was exceptionally clean, nice and warm and well furnished. Piping hot water in the very modern ‘wet room’ type bathroom. The breakfasts were appetising with various options on offer. First morning I had the salmon and scrambled eggs which was delicious! Everything was freshly cooked to order with plenty of other breakfast items available. We ate in the restaurant for our three night stay and the evening menu was unusual and just as delicious as the breakfasts! This hotel is ideally located on the edge of town in a quiet residential area, (with parking just a very short distance away at the nearby racecourse car park) and within easy walking distance to the town. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who likes good quality and great hospitality!! Our room number 7: rated 9/10 Although our room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated it could have got 10/10 from us for our three night stay with the addition of a small wardrobe or a rail to hang our clothes.
