We booked this B&B as we had a rescheduling of our ferry to the Isle of Mull and needed to depart from Lochaline instead of Oban. As such, we only booked one night and that pretty much last minute. However, we were received with a very warm welcome and the room was just perfect for us (family 4, with 2 kids at 6 and 8 years old). As we were taking the first ferry from Lochaline and would thus miss the breakfast, we were immediately asked if anything could be prepared for us to be ready as take-away breakfast. The hospitality and room were fantastic and we'd highly recommend a stay in case you're looking for accommodation in this area of Scotland!

What an absolute joy and pleasure to stay in Coille Darach. Mary was so welcoming when we arrived. Our room was lovely, the view of the woods from the long window was so nice I didn’t want to close the blinds. The location is one that brings calm. Food is available over the road at the Ariundle centre, but you must enquire early, either eat in or bring back to the B&B, it’s delicious and home cooked. Mary’s breakfasts are very good, and all diets are catered for. Highly recommend a stay here. We didn’t want to leave. We will be back next year. A score of 10+

There isn’t anything not to like. I should have mentioned there is ample parking. Lots of activists to do nearby and some stunning walks on the doorstep.

The property was exceptionally modern and well appointed with everything you could possibly need. The bed was fantastically comfortable, the bathroom just perfect with daylight bright mirror and waterfall shower, heated floor and super soft towels. The hosts Mary and husband were very friendly, helpful and communicative, both in the initial texts and throughout providing numbers for local places to eat. The standard of cleanliness was immaculate and the morning breakfast was to die for. I would not hesitate to recommend Coille Darach to anyone without hesitation.

The accommodation was very modern. Everything was almost new with Highland theme. Our group of 6 was able to relax together in a sitting area and enjoy a mild evening on the adjoining balcony. The breakfast was excellent, with many courses. The shower was perfect. The lady owner was friendly and helpful. Just opposite there was a Centre where we had a very good evening meal There is a very pleasant 5km circular walk which starts just outside the property and many other pleasant walks nearby.

Everything was wonderful and perfect for a one day stay.

The location was excellent for us. Everything about the house and rooms is really well looked after. The sitting area for guests is a nice touch. Breakfast, including a 7:30 option, was exceptionally good. Place for evening meals just opposite the B&B, check availability directly.

Nothing really. We don’t like cigarette smoke, while the rooms were all nonsmoking, sometimes a slight smell of smoking would drift up from the owners.

A cozy BB in the middle of nature. When we arrived we felt very welcome. The room was spacious, very neat and comfortable. There was a small fridge that comes in handy. The bathroom facilities are all new and had everything we need. The hearty breakfast topped it all! We were full up to our ears when we left the breakfast table. We felt very welcomed ♡

An excellent bowl of perfectly cooked porridge followed by bacon, egg, and beans - what's not to like? The area is also very beautiful though we didn't have as long as we would have liked to explore it further.

If anything, our room was over-warm, even though we kept the door to the bathroom (with its very nice heated floor) closed. Mind you, we'd been camping for a week in cold weather beforehand, so we'd probably got used to being chilly at night.

The lady who runs it is very kind and helpful. The room was very beautiful, tidy, clean and spacious. The breakfast was tasty, fresh and filling. Strongly recommend. I will be back! With love Marios from Cyprus

The whole of Ardnamurchan is tough to drive in, the roads are a single lane so if you are not confident driving in narrow roads you might need to consider it. But personally I would still book it, If you like peace and quiet the place is ideal. Just bear in mind that driving to and from it is about 50 percent slower than what Google maps show. Compared to all the positives though I would gladly risk driving on tiny roads just to visit this amazing area and to stay in coille darach

The B&B is incredibly beautiful and clean with modern facilities. The surrounding area is quiet and tranquil with lots of nature walks and stunning scenery. The breakfast is delicious with a great selection to choose from. The owners are such lovely, accommodating wonderful people.
