The food was really good, staff were very welcoming in a truly glorious location. Lovely big room with a comfortable bed, good shower and turn down service was appreciated also. This is an exceptional hotel and I would highly recommend it!

No fridge or mini bar in the room. For a luxury hotel, this is a must. Service was slow at times. We went to the bar for a drink and nobody was around at all, we had to go find someone then wait another 10-15 minutes to have a drinks order taken. Dinner service was slow and relaxed, this was fine up until another table complained and they became the staff’s entire focus, we felt a little abandoned. Price is also extremely steep, obviously you are paying for a lovely location but there was some extra touches that could be made to truly make this a luxury 5 star experience for guests. You could go as far as to stay they were short staffed. No one staffing the bar post dinner, just a waiter and cleaner arguing in the dining room.

2nd visit to Eriska love it’s unique location the sense of relaxation,the main house is lovely with open fires great lounge area etc , our spa suite was very comfortable and private and we enjoyed the upgraded spa and gym . The staff are friendly efficient & highly attentive . Overall another relaxing enjoyable stay .

Only dining option is min spend £200 for two …£85 for a fixed 3course menu (with really poor quality tasteless mains) & a couple of aperitifs . Wine prices also very expensive vs vintage . We were so disappointed after 1st nights dining experience we then drove out the subsequent two night which was inconvenient as Eriska is remote and really not acceptable that guests are faced with that lack of choice in a hotel of this standard .

Lovely spa facilities, so relaxing and very well maintained spa. I had a massage which was fantastic. The therapist was lovely and friendly. The gentleman at the spa reception also explained everything so well and made sure we had everything we needed. We had booked a cottage with a hot tub too which was excellent. The food in the restaurant was absolutely phenomenal and cooked to perfection. We were also offered some complimentary champagne on arrival as it was a special occasion which was much appreciated. It was a nice touch. The staff were so attentive.

We were offered the chance to enter a ballot for an upgrade, which we did but when we arrived we were told there were none of the rooms available. A bit disappointing after thinking we might have had a chance to upgrade (especially considering it was our honeymoon) but it we were still happy as we had booked a lovely cottage.

We would definitely come back, the only feedback I would give is, dinner at the restaurant is slightly dated. I feel for what the price is for dinner it’s a bit stiff and portions were a little wee. I say this with positive feedback and not too sound on myself I have eaten at Rick steins, been to fabulous restaurants around Scotland Australia New Zealand Norway etc. we would definitely come back just think the restaurant needs to relax a little more and some music also.

From start to finish our stay was excellent. Staff gave us a great welcome and couldn't do enough to make us comfortable. Our room had a great view and both room and bathroom were large with every facility. The upgraded spa and deck restaurant has been tastefully done. The small plates served were delicious. And the location is spectacular. Wonderful views in all directions.

Breakfast was excellent - except for the toast (see below). The location is perfect for a peaceful break in a stunning part of Scotland. Dinner in the main restaurant was very good. Service was very good.

The toast - we had to send it back 2/4 times to be toasted. A silly point, but a detail that should be corrected in such a luxury hotel. We dined in both the main restaurant and the Deck. The former was very good, but I am not sure the Tapas concept at the deck is fully worked out.

You couldn’t want for a more beautiful environment the island is a little piece of paradise. These hotels are old and notoriously difficult to maintain but this team really have made huge efforts to ensure that the fabric of the hotel are maintained to an extremely good standard given its age.Tasting menu was worth every penny!

Having said the above it is difficult to then pick holes and it is for me very picky but here it is. I felt they could be more caring regards the emergency fire lighting. It was very bright in our room. Recessed lighting would have been far more conducive with the age of the property. Also the tv behind a mirror was a neat idea but actually made the sound very muted. Not weary to watch TV for that reason.

Beautiful building from the outside, stunning grounds, gorgeous trails to walk, lots of wildlife. Inside the hotel a lovely ambience, live open fires, nice spa facilities, the staff very helpful and friendly. Great views. Loved it.

Breakfast buffet poor selection, bit dated. Spa only open until 6pm with last entry at 530pm.

I found the food too rich!

Views were excellent as were the services and politeness of staff. The comfort of beds was exceptional.

Hilltop suites were comfortable. The cleanliness of living room carpet and sofas could be better. No instructions on house to use thermostats, gas fire and TV’s was very frustrating. Biggest issues was road to hilltop suites with major pot holes.
