All of the food was well prepared and delicious. We had more than enough to eat and snack on. Our cottage was nicely stocked with drink options including tea and hot chocolate. The bathrooms were very spacious, and the separate tub was wonderful! The beds were also very comfortable. The staff was exceptional as well. We had car trouble on the way had a 4 hr delay due to a flat tire. When I called the hotel, they were so understanding and concerned for our wellbeing. They knew exactly where we were and called me a few times to check on us. We finally arrived at about 9pm and they had soup and sandwiches waiting for us. We also loved how inviting the island is. You are encouraged to explore at your own pace even in the rain!!There are harry coos, horses and goats to delight you and the coast line is stunning. My friends and I loved everything about our stay at Isle of Eriska!

Having a fan in the room would be a nice option.

The food was really good, staff were very welcoming in a truly glorious location. Lovely big room with a comfortable bed, good shower and turn down service was appreciated also. This is an exceptional hotel and I would highly recommend it!

No fridge or mini bar in the room. For a luxury hotel, this is a must. Service was slow at times. We went to the bar for a drink and nobody was around at all, we had to go find someone then wait another 10-15 minutes to have a drinks order taken. Dinner service was slow and relaxed, this was fine up until another table complained and they became the staff’s entire focus, we felt a little abandoned. Price is also extremely steep, obviously you are paying for a lovely location but there was some extra touches that could be made to truly make this a luxury 5 star experience for guests. You could go as far as to stay they were short staffed. No one staffing the bar post dinner, just a waiter and cleaner arguing in the dining room.

The location of this hotel is amazing being on its own island accessed by a short road bridge. The hotel itself is surrounded by trees but the view from the Spa, Deck Restaurant & island walks are spectacular. The staff could not be more helpful & welcoming. An amazingly relaxing place to stay.

Other reviews mentioned the small portion size for dinner & I would agree. The Deck Restaurant menu lists `wee plates` & suggests 3-4 per couple. We found it to be 3-4 plates per person (it was all delicious though) The portions for the main hotel restaurant were also on the small side.

We loved the Spa Suite which was huge. The location was stunning and the walks around the grounds were great. We dined at the Deck restaurant where the food was fabulous and the view pretty stunning too.

Staff attentiveness was moderate. Having never been before, the arrangements for breakfast were a little confusing and not explained to us on arrival - we had similar for the evening meal where we were left for quite a while before being able to order more of the amazing tapas dishes. Also our breakfast order was incorrect (very minor inconvenience).

Lovely spa facilities, so relaxing and very well maintained spa. I had a massage which was fantastic. The therapist was lovely and friendly. The gentleman at the spa reception also explained everything so well and made sure we had everything we needed. We had booked a cottage with a hot tub too which was excellent. The food in the restaurant was absolutely phenomenal and cooked to perfection. We were also offered some complimentary champagne on arrival as it was a special occasion which was much appreciated. It was a nice touch. The staff were so attentive.

We were offered the chance to enter a ballot for an upgrade, which we did but when we arrived we were told there were none of the rooms available. A bit disappointing after thinking we might have had a chance to upgrade (especially considering it was our honeymoon) but it we were still happy as we had booked a lovely cottage.

2nd visit to Eriska love it’s unique location the sense of relaxation, the main house is lovely with open fires great lounge area etc , our spa suite was very comfortable and private and we enjoyed the upgraded spa and gym . The staff are friendly efficient & highly attentive . Overall another relaxing enjoyable stay .

Only dining option is min spend £200 for two …£85 for a fixed 3course menu (with really poor quality tasteless mains) & a couple of aperitifs . Wine prices also very expensive vs vintage . We were so disappointed after 1st nights dining experience we then drove out the subsequent two night which was inconvenient as Eriska is remote and really not acceptable that guests are faced with that lack of choice in a hotel of this standard .

The grounds and spa were just perfect ! Room was beautiful

We would definitely come back, the only feedback I would give is, dinner at the restaurant is slightly dated. I feel for what the price is for dinner it’s a bit stiff and portions were a little wee. I say this with positive feedback and not too sound on myself I have eaten at Rick steins, been to fabulous restaurants around Scotland Australia New Zealand Norway etc. we would definitely come back just think the restaurant needs to relax a little more and some music also.

From start to finish our stay was excellent. Staff gave us a great welcome and couldn't do enough to make us comfortable. Our room had a great view and both room and bathroom were large with every facility. The upgraded spa and deck restaurant has been tastefully done. The small plates served were delicious. And the location is spectacular. Wonderful views in all directions.

Breakfast was excellent - except for the toast (see below). The location is perfect for a peaceful break in a stunning part of Scotland. Dinner in the main restaurant was very good. Service was very good.

The toast - we had to send it back 2/4 times to be toasted. A silly point, but a detail that should be corrected in such a luxury hotel. We dined in both the main restaurant and the Deck. The former was very good, but I am not sure the Tapas concept at the deck is fully worked out.

Location, facilities, staff & grounds.

New staff not up to speed of standards. The glasses used to serve Spirits and Soft drinks were thick rimmed and unsophisticated. Cooked breakfasts were not great. Potato scones were not cooked and we think scottish breakfast should be served spread out on the plate, not in a tower in the middle of the plate.
