Perfectly located, 5-10mins from Windermere. Dog friendly - staff were very welcoming, very attentive during breakfast, lovely conversations. The double room at the front, very clean and cosey, we fitted a medium sized dog create in the room comfortably. Breakfast was amazing, staff chatted with us, made us feel very welcome, very attentive to guests needs, all in all - Breakfast was spot on, bacon, eggs etc .. my partner has allergies - very attentive. Thank you. The Watermill Inn pub just up the road, perfect for evening meals.
Bathroom, whilst lovely and clean, shower could have done with a bit more pressure - otherwise perfectly fine, just a personal preference.

Easy access with leaving key on arrival. Breakfast - couldn't fault it. Lovely staff and room serviced each day with tea/coffee/biscuits topped up. Ideal location for us to come and go as we pleased.
Parking sometimes bit of a squeeze in car park, but able to park on road no problem. Very noisy road though. Didn't anticipate how intrusive the noise would be with our room facing the road. Had to keep windows shut after about 7am, as sooo noisy and constant. Not too bad late at night. Hence the earplugs left for us in our room, we assume. Didn't use them though. Beds little harder than we're used too.

During our recent stay at Meadowcroft Guest House, my partner and I were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional experience provided. From the moment we arrived, the staff's warm and friendly demeanor made us feel truly welcome. Our room was spacious and impeccably clean, featuring a comfortable king-size bed and large windows that offered a delightful view of the surrounding countryside. The en-suite bathroom was well-appointed, complete with complimentary toiletries. We also appreciated the in-room tea and coffee making facilities, which added a cozy touch to our mornings. Although we didn't realize that breakfast was included in our stay and therefore didn't partake, we've since learned that Meadowcroft offers a generous full English breakfast in their comfortable dining room. The guest house's location in Ings Village is ideal for exploring the Lake District. We found it conveniently situated for visits to nearby attractions, and the ample parking provided made our excursions hassle-free. Overall, our experience at Meadowcroft Guest House was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of comfortable accommodations, attentive staff, and a prime location makes it a perfect choice for anyone looking to explore the Lake District. We wholeheartedly give it a five-star rating and look forward to returning in the future.
Nothing it was perfect

This guest house is a gem, we loved the friendliness of the staff and our room was lovely - spacious, nicely decorated, and the two windows let in plenty of light with gorgeous views over the old church and farm land. The location was handy to several attractions within an easy driving distamce, and only a short walk to the local pub where we enjoyed a nice meal. The breakfast was outstanding!
My only comment would be that the soundproofing could be bit better, you could hear the sound of conversation in the adjoining room. There is some traffic noise but it was mostly in the (weekday) morning and by then we were tucking into the fabulous breakfast!

Meadowcroft is in a great location for exploring the Lakes District, less than 20-30 minutes drive to Windermere, Ambleside, Hawkshead and Coniston. As an old building, it had a few creaks, but also lots of charm and was pleasantly decorated. The rooms are good-sized by UK standards, very clean and comfortable (including the bed), with lots of storage space. Bathroom was good sized and had plenty of towels (washcloths and hand towels and bath towel for each person!), which is an unexpected luxury in the UK. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was great - very generous continental breakfast offerings, plus full flexibility in terms of mixing and matching amongst the hot offerings. Breakfast room was bright and cheerful. It was also lovely to have a sitting room upstairs that guests could use, with a comfy sofa, tv, microwave and extra dishes. As we had to leave early our last morning (before breakfast service started), the team were very happy to let us use the upstairs fridge to store continental breakfast things overnight, so we could still have breakfast. Very easy and accommodating check-in process, even for a late arrival. Although not really in town, there is a fun pub just a few minutes walk away, so we didn't have to drive into town for dinner if we didn't want to. Debbie was very entertaining - a born host!
Only downside is that it is right on the main road heading toward Windermere - a bit on the noisy side from traffic until late evening, when it became very quiet. It wasn't much of a problem for us, and they very thoughtfully provided ear plugs in our room, which was much appreciated.

The Guest House is very well decorated clean and fresh. Our bedroom was a good size very comfortable bed with a TV and tea and coffee facilities. Excellent shower is very powerful in a separate cubicle. There is a small lounge for guests to use with a fridge and microwave. Very nice dining room and breakfast was excellent with friendly accommodating staff. Looked a bit out of the way on the map but perfect location as a base for touring the lakes. Bus stop outside. Londis supermarket next door at the garage that stocks most things you might want including food and drinks. Five min walk to a lovely pub that had a good choice of drinks and great food menu. What we had was excellent. On site car park We were very pleased with our choice and happy to recommend.
Nothing we had a great stay

The whole building was very clean, our room was very comfortable and good breakfasts - the scrambled eggs were done just right (nothing worse than rubbery scrambled eggs!) Debbie and Jackie were friendly, chatty and helpful. We liked their dog, Sally. Dog towels provided. Very hot water. There is a communal lounge where you can microwave your dinner if you don't want to eat out every night. We won't be staying anywhere else on our next trip to the Lakes.
Ummmm, can't think of anything.

We would award 20 stars for this wonderful accommodation if we could... Completely faultless from check in to check out and the best place we have ever had the pleasure to stay. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the bedroom was immaculate and very comfortable with an astonishing amount of storage. Everything we could have wished for was supplied, tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc.. Plus there was a little lounge where we could relax with a reading book, play cards or just sit and think how fortunate we were to have found this gem of a place to stay. There was ample parking outside and the location was just perfect with a lovely river flowing past nearby and a very good pub just two minutes away which provided food and drink of the highest quality where we were made very welcome. Our hosts at Meadowcroft were Debbie and Jackie who are two lovely ladies who provided an excellent breakfast every morning in their first class dining room which wouldn't look out of place in a top hotel. They certainly know how to look after their guests and we came away with the feeling that we had made two new friends. We highly recommend this accommodation and will be returning in 2025.. There was nothing that we could fault in this wonderful accommodation.

Ideal location for visiting surrounding areas and all of the lakes, the facilities were excellent and a hearty breakfast, the local pub the Watermill is only 2-3min walk through the village and serves good food and local craft eyed ales, there is ample parking at the guest house, we had a small pooch with us and the venues are are very per friendly. There is also a local garage next door for any provisions if needed We we’re impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and friendliness of both Jackie and Debbie.

The room we booked was one of the smaller ones - but that wasn't a problem for us, because we only used it to sleep in. It was easily big enough for us for the few hours we spent in it, and - bonus - the en-suite shower room was far larger than we expected for such a room. Breakfast was superb. Plenty of it, and freshly cooked very morning. We went to the pub in the village (Watermill Inn) for our evening meals, which were excellent quality and very good value for money.
Nothing - it was all perfect.
