I really enjoyed my stay at the Carlyle Hotel in San Jose. The location is great — convenient for getting around the city and close to the main roads, which makes travel easy. The price was very reasonable for the quality, and the room was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. It’s definitely a good option for both short and long stays, as the hotel provides everything you need for an enjoyable visit. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, always making sure guests feel at home. I also appreciated the overall cleanliness and calm atmosphere of the hotel. There are a few shops nearby, which is nice for quick errands, even though the area isn’t particularly busy — perfect if you prefer a quieter environment

There wasn’t much I didn’t like. The hotel is located near main roads, but the rooms are surprisingly quiet, so noise was not an issue. They offer coffee both in the rooms and in the lobby, which is a nice touch — it would just be even better if tea were available as well. Overall, the Carlyle Hotel is a comfortable, affordable, and welcoming place to stay in San Jose. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxed and convenient stay, especially if you’re planning to stay more than just a couple of nights.

Location was great and not far from the event I traveled to. The hotel and room were nicely decorated...maybe a little outdated, style-wise, but still in good shape. I would stay there again. I was on the first floor which was convenient for backs and forth with my luggage, bags. The gentleman behind the desk was very nice, friendly. The room was very comfortable and the price was right compared to the hotel I stayed at elsewhere last weekend where the room was "adequate" but way overpriced. The elevator to the garage worked fine and was very convenient. I might recommend a larger hanging "Elevator" sign in the garage as I didn't even notice it and walked out front on the sidewalk to the front entrance as I didn't see the elevator when I first checked in.

I barely got a parking spot in the under-hotel parking garage after returning from my event around 10:30p. The space I found to park in was in a back corner and took some maneuvering to fit my standard size car into. The condition of the room was fine; however, it seems the broken mirror shelf was tackily repaired and, in my opinion, should've just been removed and new wall mirror put in so as to not have dried glue smeared everywhere. There is plenty of room on the vanity top itself for bathroom stuff of guests. But that's somewhat minor. All else was just fine.

I didn't expect too much when I saw the location and the outside facade. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in the front doors. It is owned/managed by some wonderful Hindu Indians and the decor certainly matches their atypical style. Into the room I went, it was very clean, yet without smelling too, cleaning product scented. Very nice and up-dated mattress, bedding, and TV. The blackout curtains were over-sized for the windows, which gave a true blackout in the morning. The bathroom has recently gone through an overhaul. I know the workmanship and materials as I am a home improvement tradesman. Overall, it was a very good value for my needs.

I got back to the property late, and the smallish parking garage under neath the main building was full. I parked at a closed restaurant 2 lots away. It's not at all a seedy neighborhood, but that scenario might be a little unsettling for some folks.

On a Scale from 1 to 10 ...... THE CARLYLE HOTEL ON CAMDEN AVENUE IN SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA IS........* 11 * !!! TRUE STORY. EVERYTHING HERE IS EXCELLENT! STAFF IS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND THE ROOMS ARE AMAZING WITH ALL OF THE "BELLS AND WHISTLES" AND A HUGE TELEVISION AND I HAVE TO MENTION THE WHITE ITALIAN MARBLE COVERING THE INSIDE OF THE ENTIRE BATHROOM . The front desk guy was a character. I appreciate that he let me check in a little bit early …room was nice. Had a refrigerator and the bed was excellent.

Unfortunately, I had a room facing the street and even with a thick windows,It was very noisy. Next time Id request a different room -there seems to be some issue with the hot and cold water in the sink you put on the cold and it actually was starting to get hot And vice versa ,shower work pretty well but parking is a bit sketchy just an open underground lot. You could easily have some sort of crime down there, and No one would know.

Check in and out were flawless. The room was clean and comfortable. It had great decorations and an old school vibe. I liked that it had a refrigerator, microwave and Keurig coffee maker in the room. The best part of all was that the hotel was close to where I needed to be.

No hair dryer in the room. I specifically didn't bring a hair dryer, and I was very disappointed that there wasn't one provided in my room. Apparently, there was one in my son and daughter-in-law's room - I didn't find this out until after check out. Loud traffic at 4:30 AM. NOT the Carlyle's fault at all! A large truck had an alarm going off at 4:30 AM just outside my room (that faced the street) that woke me, and I couldn't sleep after that. At first, I didn't know if it was a fire alarm for the hotel or what it was.

Room is huge ,clean and bathroom is updated.Complete with microwave,fridge &Keureg coffee maker.Staff are friendly & we were checked in very early for free.There's elevator from garage.

Noisy A//C and our room is facing intersection of the highway so we could hear the loud vehicles/ motorcycles racing middle of the night.Next visit,I'll request for a room not facing the street.

It is close to the freeway and restaurants. It has underground parking and a convenient elevator. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious. Great coffee!

My car was side swiped in the underground garage because of tight parking spaces. No breakfast even though they advertise photos of breakfast being served. It is really hard to get out of the garage on to the street. The TV kept losing channels, leaving little to watch. There is very loud road noise if your room is on the street side.

I booked the hotel for the July 4th weekend with some friends. We brought some of our own food to share with each other. And very pleased to learn that the hotel has a lobby area with a few table and chairs that we can sit together and chat and enjoy our foods in a clean and quiet environment. Jay at the front desk has been so helpful and friendly. The entire stay is very pleasant and enjoyable for us.

I needed a hotel to stay overnight to be close to my Doctor's Office in a town I do not live in, in order to manage to get to my appointment on time early the next morning. This hotel is in a perfect location to reach my Dr.'s office, and has a friendly staff, comfortable accommodations, safe parking facilities below the hotel, with nice elevator, 24/7 fresh coffee available in lobby, beautifully decorated lobby area and eating area.

Though there is nothing they can do about this, I DID have difficulty when pulling out of the underground garage, to turn LEFT to go in the direction of my Dr. Office; I had to turn right, do several blocks until I found a left turn OK lane to do a U-turn lane.
