I love every bit of this resort, it can use a little updating and the particular bed I slept on was too soft BUT the hubs loved it and this was my 3rd time coming to this property and I will continue to keep coming!!! I love this place!!!

Loved every part except the beds in cabin 14, cabin 7 has a great bed. And a few things could be updated but that’s not very important. One last thing I know it’s on septic and there’s nothing you can change about that BUT sometimes you could smell it. Other than that staff, cleanliness, location and ambiance was a hit!!!

Location is devinei!!! It's like being in a magical beautiful forest!! Quiet,green with birds singing . Also like. the visiting black kitty. Outdoor deck is llike another room.

The couch is very uncomfortable. Too low to get in & very difficult to get out. Especially older & anyone with any mobility issues. Should be sleeper& comfortable. TV remote very difficult to use. Couldn't get majority of desired channels. Am. a political junkee & starved for CNN & MSNBC!!! Would be nice to see moreover river from #3 cabin. There should be a barh mat for slippery shower.

Magical property in the redwoods. So serene. Exceeded our expectations. We had private access to a little river in the back and my 3 and 6 year old were able to swim and play safely. Super accessible to anything you could need…there’s a grocery store and a rite aid within 5 minutes. Santa Cruz is 20’min away. And there’s a state park you could walk to.

We liked everything

Location, cozy cabin. Very close to river, and Henry Cowell Park. Quaint town of Felton is very fun to explore as well as some other little towns. One of my favorite places to stay!

I wish staff had been more accommodating in working with me to stay another night. There was a cabin available for me to move to after checking out of mine. I was told check in was still at 3 pm. It would have been nice if I was told that staff would clean it as soon as possible so that I could have been accommodated.

Such a beautiful hidden gem amongst the redwoods. The setting was so peaceful and we could hear the river from our cabin. The kids loved playing and swimming in the river. We ran into car problems and Lisa and the staff were so helpful. We felt so cared for as they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. So grateful for the staff!

The surroundings couldn’t be more beautiful- you’re basically already in the beautiful, luscious Redwoods on the property and the state park is minutes away. We were so impressed with what was available to us in the cabin- we had stopped at a roadside stand to buy some irresistible produce on our drive and to our delight there were utensils, everything we could need to fix a little meal and wash up what we used. They are super thoughtful about the surroundings and environment leaving notes around to explain how they are conserving while still maintaining above and beyond accommodations. What a gem! We were visiting on a road trip up the coast and would’ve carved out more time to stay had we known. Stayed as a couple and loved it- wish we could have shared it with family friends, so we will be back and can’t recommend it enough. Thanks, y’all!

No complaints.

We LOVED the location. It was in the middle of the woods, quiet and relaxing, but also close to stores, gas stations, and even a movie theater. Everything was within a 15-minute range. The environment at Fern River Resort was perfect for when you need to disconnect and recharge your batteries. It's also right next to Henry Cowell State Park and the train rides.

The cabins are well equiped with all you need and we loved the kitchenette, that allowed us to prepare our favorite meals and save money too! I'd suggest having extra blankets for guests as it can get cold at night. The bed was a little hard, and tall, but it didn't bother us too much. We loved this place in general. We would definitely be back!

The location is the winner! Check in process was very well organized, instructions were very clear. Well maintained grounds, each cabin has its own bbq facilities, everything inside the cabin was working properly, the bed was comfortable, sheets clean and crisp. Oh and what I really liked was the feeling of a total privacy (you know how sometimes you stay in a hotel and the hotel staff is very busy always doing something around you and you feel like you are constantly on their way? So none of that was happening , a totally quiet space).

The only minor thing - and it is really about the location of the town, not the resort fault - is the proximity to the main and only road. It was Monday so I woke up at 6am because of the recycling trucks. But I think if you book a cabin closer to the river it shouldn't be an issue.

Log cabin close to the river. Well equipped kitchen with breakfast table. Porch great at dinner time. Just a bit too many mosquitos. Well, it's nature. Great redwood forest around. The state park across the river is really worth a visit!

No walk on this side of the river, all in all rather small for what is called resort.

Staying here is like staying home while cuddling with the redwoods. Had an amazing time here like always. Beth was the person I had the PLEASURE of speaking with and was the staff person I met 2 years ago! She kindly upgraded my room to meet my desires and my stay was nothing but divine. I love the redwoods and staying in this quiet yet close to nature getaway was perfect. If perfectly silent, you will hear the creeks of the cabin continuing to settle, the redwood trees providing you with pure joy, and the river the RIVER! YOU CAN LEGIT HERE IT FROM YOUR PORCH! The sounds of the river is glorious and invites you down. I’m sober BTW LOL. I just love nature. If you’re looking for nature, a peaceful place (with great location to all things you need) THIS IS THE SPOT! The staff is so friendly you will forget that they haven’t known you for 5 years LOL. Stay here! Be joyful, be grateful, be a guest :)
