I loved the location and ability to walk to the center of Monterrey. The rooms were clean, up to date, with nice linens and pillows. I liked having a balcony with a green space facing it.

The included breakfast was basic and minimal. There is a ton of small print to read and so many warnings that it made you feel unwelcome. I would not have booked here originally if I had received the information upfront. We are normal travelers who just want a comfortable, safe space to stay and it felt like they must have a ton of questionable people staying there in the past with all the warnings of fees if you did "this or that"

This is a casual place that is walking distance to a lot of restaurants. Parking is easy once you get inside the wall. Our room was on the second floor. It backed up to the elevator which we never heard, so that was a relief. Breakfast was included but not fancy, mainly oatmeal, breads and cereals and an assortment of bottled breakfast drinks, but it was easy and there was plenty of it at 7am.

While the parking was easy once inside, finding the entrance on approach the first time is tricky. It's right as the property starts, there's a telephone pole and only a single lane wide separation in the brick wall. The exit at the far end is similar, come out of here slow, there's no visibility of the sidewalk.

The hospitality was a key factor in our having a pleasant stay. Breakfast was ample enough with boiled eggs, and standard breakfast food -- delicious coffee, oatmeal, toast, bagels, fruit, juice, etc. The dining area was comfortable and cozy with a fireplace. Front desk clerks were friendly and courteous. Check-out was at 12 noon -- late enough so that people could choose to have a relaxing morning and not have to rush to pack up right after breakfast. Cookies and tea/coffee were provided in the lobby in the evening with cucumber-enhanced cool water available at all times. The layout of the rooms was different -- not your standard motel, and the rooms were quiet enough.

Wish the cost per night could have been a bit less.

The staff. They made the family environment and they showed the desire to make our stay comfortable. We will be back.

Need more coffee pods. At least 4 for two people, especially if we just want sit and watch the news on the morning. And maybe share with guests where they can get extra coffee- in the lobby. My husband went to the cafeteria and he could not find the coffee. Even with that, this was a great place to stay. and will be staying again.

The room was clean and comfortable. Good lighting and an arm chair for sitting. Breakfast was pretty minimal, but adequate. Free, on site parking was a positive. It would have been a longer walk than I want to do to walk to restaurants or bars. Neighborhood was quiet and felt safe to take a stroll.

Breakfast was pretty much the bare minimum. More selection of fresh fruit and juices and some muffins or pastry would be nice. Exterior corridors and stairs needed cleaning.

Location is perfect for either walking to Monterey, driving to Big Sur or Carmel Beach, the location is nestled nicely right outside of all of the traffic but in reach of everything around you. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Breakfast is enough but could be better. Consists of donuts, croissants, cereal, heard boiled eggs, frozen waffles, orange juice, coffee. Perhaps they could add a little bit more with a waffle maker or donut maker, it is challenging bc there is limited counter space.

The Colton Inn was wonderful! From the friendly staff at check-in who were eager to help us with recommendations and the yummy continental breakfast to the clean and comfy room to the wonderful location, I would stay here again tomorrow!

The only thing that may be a drawback for some was the thin walls - we ended up hearing outside conversations in the morning. We're heavy sleepers, though, so it didn't bother us at all.

The continental breakfast had a large selection of foods for everyone and the room was very comfy - the heater worked especially well. Nice that we were in walking distance from restaurants and stores.

The tub faucet was a challenge to figure out how to stop it from leaking. One evening there was no coffee available in the office and we were told only that there were a lot of coffee drinkers that day.

Good sized and very pleasant quiet room, very comfortable clean beds and bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Prefer bedrooms without carpet, they never feel quite clean…. Ice machine not working but am sure that was temporary. Breakfast ok but could maybe do with a little more selection/ quantity, also the eating area is not very big so it got a little crowded especially round the toaster.

Great location, very clean rooms, basic but convenient cold breakfast offerings -- a great deal!

There are some unusual noises outside. Some sort of regularly intermittent very loud, electronic buzzing from the next-door property. The seagulls are also... um, effusive. (AWK! AWK! AWK! AWK!) Bring earplugs and you're golden! Still a lovely stay -- and we'd stay there again!
