I've stayed in a number of Upper Munras motels in Monterey over the years and this one ranks as one of the best. My king room was large and comfortable with a good bathroom with a tub/shower combo. It was close to town (about 15 minutes walk) and was easy walk to old wharf and downtown dining. Good parking in the back section that offered exit onto Cass Street. I walked to Trader Joe's. Front desk was pleasant and helpful and check-in was easy. There's ice available too. I look forward to staying here again. It seemed like a good value too.

The Inn is incredibly beautiful and feels quaint for having so many rooms. The flowers around the property add to its charm. I had asked for a room upstairs away from a lot of noise and I was given a corner room at the back of the property. It was great, except it was also on a fairly busy street. Luckily, the street got quieter after dark. Staff was very pleasant.
The beds were not as comfortable as I’d hoped. Too firm for me. There was also a lot of noise in the walkway near our room and a banging sound we couldn’t quite pinpoint. Could’ve just been inconsiderate neighbors sharing a wall. Also, we were hoping to sleep in late on our final morning and housekeeping stated banging around in the walkway before 9 and the room next to us around 9.

The rate was affordable and in a decent location with lovely landscaping. We recieved a free upgrade to a King suite and everything was very clean.
When we asked for extra pillows and a blanket, they told us they "didn't have any" despite the fact that it's a basic thing hotels should have available for guests and they had vacancies for the entirety of our stay. I suffer from chronic pain and an extra pillow would have made the difference between a painful morning and a pain-free one. I didn't appreciate the lack of effort to accommodate my needs as a guest.

A spacious quiet unit with a comfortable bed king size bed. All facilities including microwave, fridge, coffee maker,tv, and a fireplace! The managers are extremely helpful suggesting places to go and we appreciated the upgrade to a king size room as we were staying longer. A very affordable inn in an excellent location within walking distance of Fisherman’s Wharf, old Monterey buildings and down town Monterey. An 8 minute drive to Cannery Row. Plenty of free off street parking. We have already recommended The Arbor Inn to friends in Canada, the US of A and New Zealand.
A wider, heavier curtain on the door side window would help block out the verandah security light.

Arbor Inn Monterey is a charming place conveniently located to everything. We came to enjoy the area on our bikes and one of the bike paths is across the street from this Inn. The staff here has been helpful and gone the extra mile in our opinion in assigning us a room that was big enough and on the first floor so that we could bring our bikes in at night. We had not thought about that need but they did for us. We are in our 60’s and Good Customer Service often feels like a thing of the past, but not here. And it is not just for us, I saw the woman who helped us be as kind and helpful to the couple ahead of us during checking in as well. We will stay here again and recommend this place to our friends and family.

Convenient location. Our second time staying. Booked a king our second visit and had a downstairs room. It was different in comparison to our first visit having a king room upstairs. I do prefer the latter because of the aesthetic it gave, nice color in the room and the spacious appearance of the vault ceiling. Regardless our recent room was sufficient and good value. The room provided our basic amenities we needed with the microwave, fridge, hairdryer, coffee machine and tv with sufficient channels (we don't watch much tv) playing mainstream movie hits. The location is reasonably walkable to the wharf. Overall our go to back up place. I do appreciate the convenience to toss our trash located by the parking lot if we ordered food by uber and was too big to toss in the room.

The room with two queen beds and fireplace(which I especially appreciated) was clean, A/C & heater, fridge & microwave worked well, plenty of hot water and the attendants were very nice. Parking was great - right downstairs, so I could see it from the room. The bathroom area/sink & floor was polished granite, carpet was nice & clean. Basic hotel towels seemed a little thicker than the standard really cheap ones. Pretty quiet too and road noise could be blocked out by using the A/C.
It was second level, so had to carry items upstairs. I mean, bellhops are always nice - as are elevators, however, the price point was good. It was a good value and comfortable. Felt safe as well, however, an extra upper door lock latch would have been welcomed. I would stay again =)

I really loved my stay at the Arbor Inn. Friendly reception and the room was great. Spacious with a high ceiling (I did get upgraded from a regular queen to a double queen room, all for myself, which was nice), very private, very comfortable bed and clean. Coffee maker and microwave came in handy (a few more refills for the coffee pads would be nice). Walking distance to Monterey town. And it was quiet at night. And the price was affordable compared to some other places. Recommended! If I'm ever in Monterey again I'll probably just stay at the Arbor Inn again.
Nothing really.

Great little gem of a property! Laxi the manager was so kind and welcoming. Our second floor room had a fireplace - super easy to turn on with a switch and high ceilings. Beds were very comfortable - in the middle of firm and soft - just right with lots of pillows. Fridge and microwave were handy and there was a little table and chair to eat at or do laptop work. Bathroom was very clean and hot water was hot in sink. Water pressure was right on also!
We were on second floor so used stairs. No elevator but we made it work as we requested second floor.

The room was clean, and the two double beds were nicely made, attractive, and comfortable. The location was great. It was on Munras Ave, which is a great street to be on because it's very close to the center of town, Fremont Ave (which leads you to the CA 1 freeway, an easy route to Carmel, Carmel Valley, and more! They have a bench for your suitcase and an extra folding suitcase bench in the closet. Microwave and refrigerator, It's only 5 minutes to the pier and shops.
Parking could be a challenge. The room has a 24" x 24" table and one comfortable chair. Other than that, there is nowhere else to sit and relax (except for the bed). Logging into the free WIFI was awkward.
