Had a family suite - great size. Good sized fridge and microwave a real bonus. Coffee machine in room with pods provided. Location great - very easy to find. Very easy to get onto Highway 1 South for a drive along coast. Nice walk into Monterey - took us about 45 minutes to reach Cannery Row and aquarium. Staff very welcoming and friendly - drinks machine in reception (as well as coffee in room) which had a wide selection of other drinks - Hot Chocolate was highly rated! Had an indoor swimming pool but didn’t use.

Only negative was loud bathroom fan - so could hear from other rooms.

We were very happy with this property - it was very easy to reach from major roads and had plenty of free parking, while also being located within 10-15min walk from Monterey downtown (20min to Fisherman's Wharf). We actually ended walking there for breakfast at Peets (< 10min) and to dinner, since the weather was very pleasant. It's also a short (10min) drive to the Aquarium, which was about $10 with Uber if one wants to avoid the crazy parking lot fares around the Aquarium. The staff was also very pleasant and friendly!

The room was a little bit cold, probably because we were are the corner of the building, so it was not insulated from most walls.

Loved the two queen suite, as we were traveling with our adult son. Having a separate but adjoined bedroom was ideal. Loved the size of the room and the very comfortable beds. Loved the pump bottle dispensers for the soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion - a huge plus in my eco book.

The pool could use a little update. I went there early in the morning and there was standing water all around the edge of the pool in the walkway area. I don't like that the hotel charged a $200 deposit and four days after the deposit hold, the fee is still on my credit card as a pending charge.

The property was beautiful and timeless, and reasonably priced considering how close it was to Cannery Row and the beach. The rooms themselves were modern, and my partner and I stayed in a beautiful suite that felt very romantic. The staff were kind and professional and the pool was clean and beautiful. I have zero complaints about my stay and my partner and I will be coming back.

Super nice owner/managers, went out of their way to make my stay excellent. Employees at front desk, took the time to talk to me, and make me feel appreciated. Swimming pool and hot tub were amazing, no disappointments. Very clean and fresh room, bed felt luxurious. A beautiful, large, planter with amazing baby tears and ferns? right outside the motel doors. Looked like gardner was there quite often.

There was nothing to dislike, actually can't wait to get back!

We enjoyed the pool and hot tub which was very clean and functional, we felt it had too much chlorine though that burned my familys eyes, we rented the Family Suite which had 3 queen beds, was very spacious and accommodating with plenty of pillows, blankets and towels. The housekeepers were very helpful and friendly when we needed more items. The location of our room #224 was perfect being a quiet spot away from noise in the back building. We had originally been reserved for next to the pool but checked in early and we were very happy with that room. Bathroom was not as clean as I would like.

I would like to see breakfast buffet be provided especially for those who rent a Family Suite or Any room with two or more beds suites. Also the bathroom and shower/Tub had previous guests hair that I had to clean before our family could shower. Housekeeping needs to be checked up on to make sure rooms are cleaned properly.

Vintage look, but not vintage feeling! Beds were wonderful, pillows comfy. Very very clean. Staff intentional with personal touches. Had a warm welcome here. Great communication during booking and prior to check in as well

No elevator to the 2nd floor, but didn't impact our access. It is good to be aware if stairs are a challenge. I'm sure staff would accommodate if you need a ground level room, they are very responsive to communication.

Simple, clean, had what we needed to sleep two nights. We weren't there to spent time at the hotel.

At the front desk, a man couldn't find my reservation with my name on it. He kept asking my boyfriend for his name and if we were sure the reservation wasn't under his name. The man couldn't accept that I was telling him I made the reservation. It seemed like he didn't want to deal with a woman. In the end, a woman came out to rescue him and found my reservation.

Comfortable. Good location.

No plug for taking a bath. Maybe have an "adults only" hour or two each evening/morning for guests that don't want to have screaming, running kids in the pool/spa area. The only reason I chose this hotel, over others, was to have somewhat quiet time in the pool/spa area, but that was not possible, with families loitering there the entire time the pool area was open. Which makes me not to want to visit again.

Quiet room, comfortable bed.

Very minor mold in the corner of bathtub that can be easily removed with a mold remover spray & good scrub so cleaners are getting lazy. The rooms are bland & so is the pool & bathtub area. A little color warmer lights in the pool & cool art, this place will be the trendiest place in Monterey. It’s called “The Stargazers Inn” with a name like that you should have pink or purple walls, led warm lights in the pool area, star maps, astrological art. Romanticize the garden area this place will be a hit. So much potential but yet as it is so bland.
