Good enough and close enough to GAMH (straight down Polk) for son’s concert, but out of Tenderloin. Desk/Damon was friendly and helpful. Good neighborhood with activity, food, etc on Polk. Quiet enough. Elevator. Free parking.

A bit older than some. All SF motels - excessive city extra taxes and many too expensive. This motel was cheaper than many and I appreciate that. Would have liked a pool, but still with it.

The rates were decent for being in the city. The free parking was a huge plus, because most of the hotels there charge exorbitant daily rates for parking, and there were a lot of great restaurants and places to visit within a short walking distance. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and it had plenty of security cameras around the premises.

The bed was a little too soft for my preference, and the nightlife could be heard from my hotel room, but I just turned on the A/C and the fan covered up the sound.

The staff was very nice and gave helpful suggestions. The hotel is centrally located, easily accessible and felt SAFE. The room was clean and well appointed.

The property was great. It was wonderful to have parking available. As noted in other reviews, the parking spaces could be quite tight … but it just made for more entertainment getting situated.

Hotel was accessible to the places we wanted to see: 15-20 minutes walk to Fisherman's wharf and bigbus tour stop, 3-5 minutes walk to grocery and Walgreens. We felt safe walking at night and very early in the morning. Less traffic noise so we were able to sleep well.

The carpet looked very old and needs changing; probably better using non-carpet flooring.

I was so impressed with this place. I had stayed somewhere else the first night of my trip, and I was blown away at how quiet and peaceful the Castle Inn is. With staying in the city, most places are loud and rowdy. The Castle Inn was so peaceful and quiet. I WILL stay here again. And GREAT parking! In their underground parking garage there's an alarm that rings when it senses someone is there. It gave me peace of mind.

I liked everything. If I have to stay one negative thing, it's that the elevators are old. If you have a disability, I would contact them beforehand just to make sure your needs are met. There is a flight of stairs you must go up to get to the office that I didn't see an alternative accessible route for

The hotel was located in a great location - walkable to many attractions in SF. The room was clean and comfortable, it was also a good size room! The price was very good!

Visitors should just be aware this is a no-frill hotel. There is no lobby and no amenities (hence the good price). I would have liked an extra pillow on each of the queen beds (each bed had 3 pillows).

The location is tops! Everything was clean and comfortable and for the area reasonably priced. We loved the fact that it had free parking, though it’s better for smaller cars.

Our only complaint was the WiFi. It’s free but it is not strong or consistent. We could not stream videos on our computers or phones.

Check-in was easy and parking were easey, and check-out was simply leaving the key cards in the room. The location is great: Castle Inn is near some SF tourist spots, but we were there primarily for a dinner at House of Prime Rib, which is a short walk away. The room was clean and well laid out.

The room was clean, bed was very comfortable, the bathroom and shower were nice. The microwave/fridge was a nice touch. Location is great, safe and close to everything you need. The reception team was very helpful with tips, places to go, places to avoid, etc… We were able to store our luggage upon checkout for several hours due to our late night flight. We would definitely stay here again when in SF!!!

Location was great. Nice neighborhood and close walking distance to some attractions. Room was spacious. Parking lot was much appreciated

Bed was very saggy. The bottom sheet was about 12 inches short of the foot of the bed. So no sheet where my feet were, just mattress. The towels were very thin.
