overpriced restaurant onsite, food not so great there

I recently stayed in the Kona Rock room, and while there were many highlights, a few aspects could use improvement. First, the unique room design was a standout feature. The rock shower was a refreshing touch, and the fireplace added a cozy ambiance that made my stay feel special. The pool area was lovely, and I enjoyed the convenience of the bar and restaurant right on site.

I was disappointed by a few details that seemed out of place for such an expensive hotel. The curtains were old and dated, which detracted from the overall aesthetic. Additionally, the shower faucet was difficult to use. I also found it strange to have the coffee machine in the bathroom while the iron and ironing board occupied the center of the room. A simple swap would make the layout much more practical.

Bed was comfortable. I enjoyed my spa treatments and views from the hotel. It’s in a beautiful area.

Room was nice, but way overpriced. They need to drop the $30 resort fee (it’s hardly a resort) and reduce the nightly rate. Room was not soundproof, as I heard the gentleman in the room next to me coughing all night. Room key cards are super sensitive. If they get anywhere near your cellphone it wipes the card. As a result I was unable to put my room key card in my purse with my cellphone, and I ended up accidentally leaving the key card in my room. It’s just inconvenient.

The service at the cafe was excellent. The room was unique and fun - definitely most everything about it fit the "Pioneer America" theme. The pool was the best hotel pool my daughter had ever experienced, especially with the two jacuzzis and the size of the the main pool. In addition, the horses that were in the field across from our rooms on the morning we left were a great bonus. My daughter got to feed them and we got some fabulous photos with the mountain background of that.

We liked everything A LOT, but there were two particular things we could see be improved, specifically In our room. At night the outside lights came through our door window a little too brightly, because we only had blinds, which made it harder to fall asleep. An option for a pull down blackout shade would have been fabulous. In addition, every time we moved in our bed, even a little bit, it shook the side table lamps because the bed and side tables appeared to be connected, making a rattling sound, that also made it a bit more challenging to get to sleep. Not sure how to improve the bed/sidetable & lamp situation, but wanted to bring this to your attention. Thanks so much.

Absolutely incredible!! I have been waiting for years to stay at the Madonna Inn, and it surpassed all of my wildest dreams! Our room was so cute and the bathroom was the best part imo. We loved the pool!!! Literally my only complaint is that we didn’t plan our trip well and weren’t able to spend enough time to really appreciate the Madonna Inn’s magic!

I didn’t dislike anything! Just keep in mind: this is an older hotel, so it isn’t going to smell brand spanking new, and some doors might stick a little. She’s got years on her, but she’s still worth every penny!

poor room service lack of room updates such as charging sockets next to bed. Sandwiches not great. On check in we were not advised to book a table for breakfast on what was a busy weekend so we were greeted with a 75 min wait. We ended up standing near the bar until 2 seats became free.

The Inn is situated in a great area near lots of eateries and sites. The pool area is the best part of the hotel: it’s beautiful and the temperature is perfectly warm. The guest services were responsive to our requests. There is a lovely secret garden with blooms and butterflies.

At first, I thought the rooms would be stodgy but the cleaning and maintenance staff must be very good - everything was well-maintained and very clean.

The room was fantastic and whimsical. All the staff from the bar, spa, check in and restaurants were so friendly and accommodating. The danishes and cake were very yummy ! Everything was clean and quiet. The pool was very nice to lay at. The pink cloud drink was a must try! And you can’t beat the views .

The only thing disappointing thing is they cancelled my massage last minute due to a sick call. It was very disappointing as we were only there for one night and drove 4 hours to get there. Although I know you never plan to be sick - I would maybe hope in the future they can have a back up plan/staff for sick calls especially on a busy weekend. The staff did their best to make right with a gift card and a goody bag. I did not catch the girls name but she did go over and beyond to try and rectify the situation. Greatly appreciated . I probably would have rated the property a 10 if it weren’t for this event.

I liked the decor and multiple activity spaces on the property. We played some pickleball, checked out the pool and multiple shops. The dinning room was spectacular, especially with the live band and people ballroom dancing. It felt like a time capsule.

We thought we booked the "Room 149: Old Fashioned Honeymoon" room and I was excited for the in-room bathtub. However we were actually booked for the "Room 163: Old Fashioned Room" which was a bit of a let down.

The unique atmosphere, historical background, and sense of place were fantastic. It's a combination of hippie culture, old Hollywood glam, and open spaces to look at. The Tesla superchargers were easy to use, always had an available charger.

The menu at Gold Rush Steak House is a bit overpriced, although it's understandable that they can't always get the cheapest ingredients, given their location. I wouldn't order the Prime Rib salad again--the greens are so cold, the Prime Rib congealed immediately upon contact, so when it got to the table, it was unappetizing.
