Great staff, very helpful, they go out of their way. Excellent location. Beautiful interior. Loved the little touches: cookies, wine, etc. They texted to check on us, and it worked very well. Clear messages, checked to see if we needed anything, and I felt cared for. Lots of little personal touches.
Parking is not available, so street parking is required. The parking options immediately around the hotel are fairly restrictive. We're still waiting to see if we somehow will receive ticket(s). Staff knows about parking, but there isn't much they can do about it. Also, breakfast has very limited options. If this is really a BnB (not advertised as such, but it seems to be one), it has the least breakfast of any BnB I've experienced.

The property is in a great location and is within walking distance to downtown SLO. The rooms are nice and very homey and I immediately felt comfortable and at home. Wine & Cookie hr was fantastic and much appreciated.
The staffing is a little short, I had to wait an hr to check in as the only staff person was out on a meal break. Breakfast is served at 8am. I was attending classes that started at 8am so I was never able to participate in a hot breakfast. I was packed a continental style breakfast with fresh fruits, muffins and boiled eggs that were delicious, but I would have preferred a hot breakfast in the morning at 7-7:30 am.

We absolutely love the location in downtown SLO. The room was very clean and very comfortable. Bed was comfy. Nice linens. The staff was friendly and professional. The breakfast was made to order. All in all we would recommend this Bed and Breakfast.
Minor things to know. Super steep stairs! We were okay but for some this could be a problem and most guest rooms are on the second floor. And there are steep stairs outside to the front door. There is no parking provided. There are parking meters in front; however you can't park overnight. There is a 3rd party nearby parking structure. None of these issues would prevent me from staying there again..just good to know in advance.

Great down town location, quaint historic home, lovely room. Our view was of the bank parking lot, but we sat upstairs on a deck for our welcome drink, and it was quiet at night. Nice to have a breakfast in the morning, and for expensive SLO, this place is spot on for price.
The cleaning staff were giggling and sitting on the floor in the main hallway eating muffins at various times, which was very strange. It would appear no management are present and the place could use some TLC, perhaps run a bit of a tighter ship?

The location is perfect (just around the corner from Scout Coffee and within a few minutes walk of restaurants and bars). The property itself is stunning, beautifully appointed and the whole place has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Impeccably clean. The room I had (called ‘Close to Home’) was large and the bed was very comfortable. I was only staying for one night, but had the best night of sleep in a while. Breakfast was delicious. Mack and Kava (I hope I have spelled names correctly) were beyond helpful, looking after my suitcase after checkout, as I had a few more hours in SLO due to train delays. Loved this place.
Nothing.

Fantastic location, right in the town center, gorgeous charming building and decor. Breakfast was outstanding with homemade banana bread and a fantastic avocado toast with chili oil eggs on top. The staff was extremely kind and let me and my husband check out late and then stay for a few hours in the entry/dining room to work on our laptops. They even brought us a freshly baked pastry they were preparing for the following breakfast (after I inquired about the heavenly smell coming from the kitchen). The lovely and extremely talented chef is the best part of this wonderful place. Thank you!
I liked everything, my only suggestion for improvement would be to enhance the patios in the rooms with patio/balcony, as they are fairly bare for now and do not match the rest of the fantastic place. A few plants and a cute outdoor sitting set would go a long way.

Very nice stay at the Garden Street Inn. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and clean. Liked that complimentary coffee, tea, and wine are usually available, along with the yummy cookies they put out in the afternoon. The location is perfect for seeing SLO downtown on foot. Parking was no problem at all; we were always able to park just two or three blocks away on Garden Street. Dining recos: Luna Red, Locanda, Buffalo, SLO Provisions - all excellent!
I wish that we could have opened more windows in our room; two of the three were painted shut. Also, the furniture in our suite could use a bit of an upgrade. I realize that what's there now kind of fits with the "old timey" vibe, but a larger and more comfortable sofa would be a big plus.

The location was the best part of the stay. The Inn is located a block away from a main street in the heart of San Luis Obispo. Holly and Kava were very pleasant staff members and the decor in the reception area was very warm and friendly. The bathroom was spacious and modern with a large shower area.
We were disappointed as to how small the room was. We basically had to live out of our suitcases over the two days we were there because there was no closet and minimal drawer or floor space. What was described as a balcony (on the main floor) was a porch that you had to step over sandbags to get to. The breakfasts were a single preset offering and there was no possibility of special requests. While 2 of the 3 staff members we encountered over the two days were genuinely warm and friendly, the person greeting us when we arrived did not make us feel overly welcome.

Staff all freindly and helpful. We enjoyed complimentary wine on the second floor deck. Room like the entire hotel was maintained and decorated in period decor. Well, except for the wall mounted TV. Breakfast was a treat. Fresh fruit and the surprise of Turkish Eggs - Cilbur! Thank you for the recipe. Check-in and out were seamless. Entire stay was enjoyable.

Staff was excellent. Historical elements were charming. Location close to the farmer's market was a big plus. Breakfast was delicious.
This is not necessarily the hotel's issue but it was very, very noisy. Seems like young people use the surrounding parking lot to do donuts, party and yell at each other late into the night. Honestly, this will effect our decision to stay again.
