The room came with a microwave and a good size mini fridge, and a coffee machine in the room. The TV and desk were very nice too.

I was hoping the breakfast buffet would have more hot items like eggs and sausage or a waffle maker. The only hot items were the coffee and the toast. Our room had moldy shower curtains and some minor damage to the tub. Also one of the panels to the sliding doors to the back patio was broken so it allowed light to come into the room and made it feel like we had less privacy.

We did not much interaction with the staff, but when we did it was very positive. Rooms were very clean and spacious. A/C, refrigerator and television all worked great. Bed was very comfortable. We had breakfast at the Big Sur restaurant which is directly in front of the hotel. Our room on the second floor had just been renovated. Balcony was nice. Spent two nights.

I know the owners are trying really hard to upgrade everything. The little things I noticed that needed to be improved were mostly finishes. Painting was a little slipshod and the rusty vent at the entrance hall mechanical room door needs to be replaced, just because it is the first thing you see when you enter the interior corridor to get to your room. The owners were upgrading the lower level rooms at the time we were there but they kept everything very quiet. The "ocean view" is across Highway 1 and over the facing hotel.

The gentleman at the front desk went above and beyond giving us additional shampoos, conditioners and even an android charger for the night. The restaurant across the driveway offers 10% discount if you are a Pacific Coast Roadhouse hotel guest, and their seafood with vegetables was amazing! Thank you

The laundry was old and not too well-maintained, and someone opened and left opened the dryer door when the cycle was in full swing. I had to pay another $1 to start it all over again, and stayed on duty next to the dryer all cycle long 😅

The rooms were nice. The downstairs room we were assigned was dark,and had a patio door looking out on the parking lot. The other side of the building was sunny, faced the ocean, and the upstairs rooms had balconies where you could sit and see the ocean. Fortunately, there was an upstairs room available, and the manager was very accommodating and changed us to this room. Initially, the cost was going to be $69 more. When we declined, he found discounts that reduced the price to $39 more. This really improved our stay. We were able to sit on the balcony and drink wine, and though the view wasn't clear to the ocean, we could see it in the distance. We really appreciated his effort.

Newly remodeled rooms with exceptionally comfortable beds. Decent free breakfast with sausage, eggs, toast & muffins, milk and cereal, fresh fruit, waffle maker and, of course, coffee and orange juice. Looks like the front desk guy does everything including the breakfast. Very nice gentleman, quick check-in and promptly brought us a remote for the huge flat screen TV. All in all the best value on the Central Coast!

Everything was fine!

Pacific Coast is one of the few hotels that continues to provide a hot breakfast of eggs and bacon as well as yogurt, cereal, and pastries. The room has a microwave and refrigerator. I usually bring my own food so I appreciate that convenience. The bed is comfortable. The room has hardwood floors and is nicely decorated. Because this hotel is usually the lowest price when I am searching for places to stay thanks to booking.com VIP status, I have booked this hotel at least 5 times in 1.5 years.

Breakfast was great even though there was some issue with power outage. The staff was kind enough to extend our check-out time due to the late availability of the breakfast. The room was nice and comfortable and it was easy to access Netflix on the TV. The room is nice and spacious and the bathroom is nice and clean. It's located near the sea near PCH if you're okay not being in the city. There's a convenience store and gas station nearby. The view nearby was beautiful in the day and you can hear the waves crashing at night. A great place to stargaze as well as it's far away from the city. If you work out, there's a gym there too which was pretty handy with sufficient basic equipment.

The room was clean and spacious with a fridge freezer and microwave and coffee machine. The view was lovely from the window over the sea. The staff were very friendly and there was complimentary breakfast, which was nice. They also allowed us to leave our luggage in our room whilst we went on our tour at Hearst Castle which was very helpful and above and beyond what we expected.

Steps up to the rooms

The staff was great. Had nice rooms with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was nice...protein, fresh fruit and a variety of cereals. Very close to the beach and seal beach...Hearst Castle was just a quick trip away. The restaurant next door was really nice as well

I'm wheelchair bound...the bed was way too high and the staff had to scramble to find a step for me to get into bed. We gave a few suggestions on making the room more handicap friendly and the staff thanked us for the suggestions

The rooms are spacious and very clean!! The hotel looks old but the rooms are updated and as nice as other hotels at double or triple the price. The location is not exactly beachfront (as listed on the site) but it is walkable to the beach. It is about a 5-7 min drive from Cambria. It's close to Hearst Castle and the Elephant seal viewing boardwalk. The breakfast is average: good bagels, English muffins, yogurt, and fruit. The eggs and bacon were not good. Overall, for the cost, it is excellent. Everything in Cambria is expensive so saving money on this hotel allowed us to do more on our vacation. Would stay again.

If you want to sit in your room (or on the balcony) and see the ocean, this hotel is not for you.
