Beautiful guesthouse. New facilities, large bedroom with living room and plenty of technological accessories. The hotel lobby is a very pleasant space. The decor of the inn is sophisticated, making the place very pleasant.

The location is far from the city of Santa Barbara. It is necessary to take the highway for a trip of around 20 minutes. The location charges a daily parking fee of US$35.00, in my opinion not fair, since there is no valet service and the location was not in a big city. Unnecessary charge, especially considering the rate already charged by the hotel. The charge was not friendly.

The very large suite, lots of space, nice bed and beautiful outdoors area.

We were 4 adults in the room, but everything was set up for 2 : 2 mugs, 2 glasses… The parking is overpriced ! I don’t understand when an hotel is outside the city, on its own property, they make you pay $30 to park ! Also mentioned it was a birthday celebration and they replied by email saying they will try to accommodate something special on arrival, nothing was done. In this case, don’t mention anything

We had the most amazing experience at The Steward in Santa Barbara! My family and I booked this hotel for my wedding — a small elopement with just our immediate family (10 of us total) — and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The property feels secluded and peaceful, with so many beautiful areas where we could gather together. It made everything feel intimate and special, exactly what we were hoping for. My husband and I were given a room in a separate building, which was such a thoughtful touch and allowed us some private space away from the rest of the family on our wedding night. The staff were incredibly sweet and accommodating — they even let me store my wedding cake in their fridge! Breakfast both mornings was absolutely delicious, and every little detail of our stay just added to the magic of the weekend. I truly can’t imagine a more perfect place to celebrate such a special moment. We can't wait to come back and visit for our anniversaries!

The only small disappointment was that we were promised a decorated room for our special day, but unfortunately, we didn’t receive any decorations. We also noticed one of the robes was missing from our room. It wasn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but a little extra touch would have made it even more memorable. I also hope they expand their gym one day, as it’s a bit on the smaller side. Overall, it was an amazing stay, and The Steward truly was the perfect setting for our wedding.

Room was spacious enough for our family of 5 and large dog, and had a little patio the looked out over the pool. The grounds were lovely and the pool area was great. The decor is very clean and modern, with tasteful furnishings and comfortable beds. The gym is small, but nice.

The soundproofing is not good, and we heard the kids above us every morning. If you think this would bother you, I would select a second-floor room. Thankfully, we brought our earplugs. The air handler was very loud and we kept the system turned off for the duration of our stay. Not that hotel’s fault, but they were cutting down an chipping a giant tree beginning at 10:00 p.m. each night.

I like the location and the rooms at this hotel. But I think they charge far too much for their “Pet Fee”. Its $150.00 and I’m not sure why this fee is so exorbitant- I don’t find the rooms to be particularly pristine- there were stains on the couch in my room- so if that charge is for stain removal - well that’s not happening here. Also, the ice making machine appeared to be vandalized and there are more signs of damage and graffiti around the property certainly not caused by dogs. I feel that this place should forgo the pet fee and police the grounds better and check up on their facilities. It’s silly to be so precious about pets causing damage, when obviously management are neglecting the entire property. A year ago this place was super nice, but now it’s just okay and really they chage too much for what you get.

Pet fee is ridiculously high.

We did enjoy our stay very much and would recommend this hotel, especially due to the great service that was offered. We arrived late & got assigned a different room type than what we booked. The staff at reception couldn't be more apologetic and made it worth by offering compensation. Nice grounds (incl pool with comfortable seats), nice rooms, comfortable beds, restaurant with great food & excellent cocktails, breakfast restaurant with good options and good coffee.

Price was on the high side, especially because the hotel is located quite a bit outside of Santa Barbara, although it's an easy drive into SB. If you want to park your car, the hotel charges a parking fee that is higher than most places in Santa Barbara.

I loved the grounds and the buildings of the hotel. It created a very nice atmosphere. The rooms were as well nicely decorated, spacious and no noise from aircos etc. The car we could park right in front of the room, which was great and the pool was only a minute from the room. Breakfast was of a very good quality and enough choice.

It felt like there was never enough staff for the front desk check-in/breakfast could take quite long before being served/ordered etc. Everybody was friendly and hopefully this was just a moment in time issue for the hotel.

This is a really nice hotel a bit off the beaten path for a visit to Barbara - yet that is what is so nice about it.. no parking or traffic issues here. The grounds are well kept and the trees are lovely. The room is nice, modern and clean- all amenities are available. The staff were helpful and friendly- I would recommend a second floor room - as the folks above me during my stay were very loud. Other than that, I would recommend The Steward.

Newly renovated one bedroom suites with tasteful decor. Gorgeous lobby/bar area and beautiful patio/garden area with luscious vegetation. The hotel restaurant is great, and the gourmet breakfast was delicious. Don't forget to see the Sexton historic house, which is in the middle of the hotel property.

I booked a suite with garden view which is a little more expensive than the standard suite. I arrived Saturday evening at around 8 PM and we were given a standard room with a view to the parking lot. I asked the girl at the reception, and she said the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing she could do.

The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and inviting, and the pool was well stocked with towels and very clean. We loved our stay and appreciated the friendly staff. Parking was very convenient and close to our room.

There are a few missing touches, probably just because the rooms are so new. For example, there’s no hand towel by the sink, so after you wash your hands you have to open the bathroom door to reach a towel. The shower didn’t have large bottles of product yet, so miniature bottles were balanced on the ledge. These things will be sorted out over time!
