Location, value and staff. Amy at the office helped us out immensely and made us feel at home. Being a dog friendly hotel was huge and even though our dogs didn’t bark, she reassured me that if they did while we wheeler out that it wasn’t a big deal because it’s a dog hotel. We had one minor hiccup occur and she resolved it very quickly and with no attitude or problems. Julian is a housekeeper and was very helpful and offered to do whatever we needed.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Trailhead and was super impressed with the staff! Extremely friendly and helpful - definitely made the stay very pleasant. Highly recommend for anyone that wants good place to rest their head after a fun day in Tahoe nature!

I liked that they have parking and the convenience of the location.

I did not like the pillow quality as I woke up with a stiff neck.

There was no breakfast, or extra amenities, the room was clean and comfortable... it needed a couple of chairs, so you didn't have to sit on the bed, but overall, it was comfortable. I'd consider booking again with this establishment.

I wasn't expecting the shower/tub to be in with the bed area.... that seemed weird to me.

carpeted floor - would prefer wood or tile, BUT, carpet was VERY ClEAN, missing coffee pot (Covid tenants destroyed coffee pots in area motels with tic-toc motel room cooking videos), BUT, McDonalds just blocks away.

This was a quaint, small hotel with a cabin throw-back feel. I prefer smaller hotels and this was quiet and clean, and appeared to be popular with young families. It was easy-walking to a variety of food establishments.

There wasn’t a place to hang multiple towels in or near the bathroom.

The lighting was a little darker than expected. The bathroom was small, no place to really put your clothes.
