This hotel is clean and well-maintained. The lobby is cozy, with a comfortable couch area and table area perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. There’s a microwave available for guests to use, making it easy to enjoy meals on-site. A water dispenser is available in the hotel, providing both hot and cold water, which is very convenient. The room was comfortable and spacious enough for a pleasant stay. There's also a laundry room available for guests. Wifi is great. The location is excellent in the downtown area, making it easy to get around. It's convenient to book an Uber or shuttle service from the hotel.

The bathroom is a bit older, and some of the room amenities are of an older style (but clean). While they are still functional, they may not meet modern expectations in terms of design or convenience.

This is a pretty standard fare hotel in a solid location. My first time in New Haven, location wise this hotel was great, and I even got a top floor room with a balcony, which seems pretty rare. Downtown is definitely not the best part of New Haven, but at least there is fairly easy access to the Amtrak station, a grocery store, and a handful of bars and restaurants from here. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything you need in it. Pretty nice lobby to hang out in, too. They even have some products for sale and some beers on tap.

Over the weekend, it was incredibly loud from street noise, surprisingly so for me -- and I was on the top floor. Perhaps it was because I stayed over the 4th of July weekend. The A/C unit in my room was also quite loud, unless I set it manually to low or high. The WiFi was a bit spotty as well, and the speeds were slow.

Have stayed here multiple times. Very convenient to the city, friendly staff, nicely appointed and clean rooms. Just an easy, uncluttered place to stay and feel part of the community.

I have worked with homeless issues at a high level for many years in a major East Coast city. New Haven has a serious, virtually out-of-control homeless problem. Downtown is filthy and stinks. Smoke shops seem to be the main enterprise. Homeless people loitering on every block. For this size of city, there should not be so many people without families, homes, meaningful work, basic services and more. There appears to be a greater than average breakdown of society in New Haven.

Very well maintained, overnight staff was super helpful. I really liked how only hotel guests have access to the parking lot across the street. Made it pleasantly safe and gives one a feeling of reassurance that your vehicle won’t be tampered within the city.

The location is next to a sketchy big open alleyway. Which my room was directly overhead. You can imagine the noise all throughout the night. Since it’s located downtown with a lot of bars. Heard a fight breakout and intoxicated people yelling at different times. Just be careful, there’s a lot of creepy people that hang around the building if you decide like myself to walk a block away to get some food.

The location of the property is excellent, making it easy to access nearby attractions and amenities. The parking area is conveniently situated, allowing effortless entry directly from inside the building, which adds to the convenience of staying here. My room was impressively spacious, featuring a plush, comfortable bed that made for a restful night's sleep. Additionally, the staff members were exceptionally friendly and attentive, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay.

Nothing stood out as negative for us

Our room was a nice size with two queen beds, a desk, closet, and coffee maker. The mattress was very firm. The bathroom is a normal size. Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The parking garage is adjacent to the hotel, connected with a walkway. It is $24 extra per day. Restaurants and coffee shops are in walking distance, as well as Yale University.

Not sure if there is a nightclub close by, or if there was a party going on, but there was loud music playing until very late at night (a Saturday). Being a light sleeper, this kept me up. The toilet flush is also super loud.

Great location approx. 10 mins away on foot from New Haven Train Station. Easy and short walk to Yale campus and the downtown area. Walgreens/Starbucks/dining options, etc. all within close proximity. My room was comfortable, spacious, great bathroom with a tub and also a handheld shower. Very nice interior, kind staff, the lobby looked great, water refill stations available. The area was safe and peaceful at night, I did not encounter any issues whatsoever. I enjoyed my stay at this property, and I would definitely recommend it to other visitors. Thank you so much!

The front desk staff (evening and morning) were exceptional, especially Conner who immediately greeted me with a smile and had a warm and fun demeanor during all encounters with him. Answered all my questions and was more than happy to assist me. Guy deserves a raise, if only due to his exceptional attitude. The housekeeping staff were very friendly also. Can’t say enough about how pleased I was staying here. Parking is across the street via key access and sky bridge from the hotel. $24 a night.

Not one complaint

We had a wonderful stay at the New Haven Hotel! The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated, providing a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. The location is fantastic, with Yale University just a short walk away, making it ideal for exploring the campus and nearby attractions. Parking was convenient, too – there’s a garage across the street with a direct walkway to the hotel. We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. Highly recommend!

We interacted with 3 different staff members while we were there and they were all incredibly nice and helpful. We were in town for a concert at Toad's place and we were able to walk there (15 mins) and walk to a nice restaurant around the corner and walk around Yale (10 mins). The hotel was very clean and he bed was comfortable. The parking garage was across the street but convenient. Normally I hate paying for parking but it was helpful to have a place to park ($24).
