Our experience overall was positive. Front Desk Supervisor Aisha Bello was helpful and answered my emailed questions quickly. She also helped us check in and took care of everything we needed. The hotel offered secure storage for our bicycles, which we appreciated. Our room was quiet and had a nice view toward campus. The hotel is a few blocks from some good restaurants and the Yale University Art Gallery and Center for British Art.

Our main issue was with passenger and luggage drop-off at the entrance to the hotel. We had bikes on the back of our car which we wanted to unload, and the valet parking area is very congested. The staff tried to help us, but it was stressful not having enough space and then having to back out into the street. If possible, I suggest that the hotel set aside more space for unloading and less for parking. It's an awkward situation that makes checking in and out difficult. Also valet parking at the hotel is expensive. There’s a cheaper multi-story parking lot a block or two away at 231 Crown Street (less than half the price of valet parking).

The room was spacious. It was clean enough for a hotel (I do my own additional cleaning. The towels looked clean enough, but I brought my own. My favorite part was the kitchen with a microwave, stove, and even dishwasher!!! That means you could totally bring your own food. However, there is a bar/restaurant downstairs. There are MANY local restaurants and things to do nearby if you want. Quite a bit is within walking distance. For a city, it wasn't too crowded or loud outside.

I absolutely hate barn doors because they don't lock or close completely. Be prepared for that with the bathroom of all places. The artwork downstairs is hideous, but that's not important. I didn't like having to ask after attempting to check in, if the room was ready. They should've been looking for me to tell me the room was ready.

Lobby very nicely laid out. Room was nice.

The greeting at the lobby was very random when checking in. Seemed my booking had come through as ambiguous name - not my fault - but it felt very much like my fault. Strange but could have been handled better. It was almost embarrassing Room was nice but very very cold temp on entering. Also, room was very very sparse. Felt uninviting. Not a great view for the price. Could have reviewed this a little on check in

The fitness center and the restaurants. Most of the staff is so very nice!

My tv in the room didn’t work but the front desk was very kind and accommodating. Moved me to another room. One or two staff members seemed annoyed about helping with bags/luggage cart, but all others were very attentive and kind, including valet and housekeeping.

The Blake itself is very conveniently located. There are many fantastic restaurants and things to do in walking distance of the hotel. The room was well appointed and clean.

The property itself was great. The front desk does not have the capability to do anything with cash and be weary with the vallet parking if you drive something with a manual transmission

The friendly staff delivered morning coffee and cleaned our room every day with care. The front desk team also very professional and friendly. Their excellent care made our stay extra special. The spacious deluxe room with the king-side bed and mini kitchenette was just what we needed for the 3-night stay as my trip was a combination of work/pleasure where I needed to work from the room in most days. The reception/lobby area is very inviting and equipped with sofas and work areas. We did not get an opportunity to use the bar area but it seems like a good place if you prefer a quieter spot to unwind in the evening instead of any of the more vibrant eateries in the area.

Nothing I can think of. The front desk tried to accommodate my late check-out request (Tablet Plus Member) but was not able to do so due to the sold-out situation. However, they did allow me to use a little section of the banquet room so that I can have a 30 minute work call in the early afternoon so that was very much appreciated.

The air con operate at 72F and if you adjust 73F there is none! In auto mode. Shower water flow is on the low side though the pressure is good

I was up early, spending time in the lobby, and the night manager, a lovely lady, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We chatted and I appreciated the warmth and conversation. The room was excellent, modern and had everything I needed. I appreciated the free water!

Great location, great amenities, friendly staff. Everyone we encountered - and I mean everyone - who worked at the Blake Hotel were friendly and helpful. Comfy beds, great rooftop bar, and access to a free laundry room (came in very handy during our stay). Valet parking was very convenient. We found our "go to" hotel for our trip to CT to visit friends and family.

The Blake is a really lovely hotel with well appointed rooms and an extremely attentive staff. We have now stayed here on many occasions and it truly is our “go to” in New Haven. The location is great, walking distance to Yale and the museums.

Our only criticism is that the last couple of times we have stayed, the restaurant has been closed.
