The lady at reception was very friendly and a slightly earlier check in wasn't an issue. You can hire (for free) kayaks & paddle boards or rent a jet ski ($150 for an hour - not sure if price changes according to different seasons) The room was clean and tidy and has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. At check out I was going to buy a couple of their Key like pie lollys covered in chocolate but the lady on reception gave them to us as a gift which was so kind. They were great by the way! Thank you for making our stay lovely. For the evening we went to Key Fisheries for dinner to watch the sunset. The food was beautiful and we had fresh caught crab which was in season when we stayed in October. During the day we went to Sombrero beach which had lovely golden sands and warm seas. This accommodation was in the perfect location for the most beautiful areas to visit! Just wish we could have stayed longer.

The rooms need a bit of TLC, painting in areas, a new cooker & bathroom to be updated. The sofa wasn't comfortable for us to chill on when the children went to bed (it was too windy to sit outside unfortunately)

Location of the property is great, nice area, close to the water, not far from Key West. Beautiful and relaxing! The staff is very welcoming. Propery itself is a bit outdated,so just be aware it's not brand new.

We got a room on 3rd floor, that's considered a 'penthouse' I believe. Very lovely, but only one bathroom for 4 people. This was OK, but not very comfortable. Other than that, it's been an amazing view and stay. Grill looks like not working, we tried, but with no luck.

The outdoor area was amazing, beautiful views. Staff was very nice. The rooms were very comfortable. The only thing is the kitchen and bathroom could be updated. With the way the kitchen is set up it is hard to navigate. But I would definitely staff again. Had great amenities. Comfortable beds and enough pillows which is hard to find. I loved it.

We stayed at Gulf View Resort. Jen, at the front desk, made us feel very welcomed and went out of her way to help us find gluten-free restaurants on the Keys. The room(s) were extremely clean and we loved the location and the spectacular views right outside our bedroom windows. We had an outside patio which was a great place to watch the sunset. The pictures we saw on line are true to what we actually had. What we saw is what we got!

We really can't think of anything. Everything we needed was within a few miles of the resort.

The staff was most responsive and helpful. We asked them about the option for BBQ/grill which was not fully clarified in the property description. They promptly responded and to our pleasant surprise - there is a charcoal grill available any time with all necessary accessories like coal, fire starter etc for free... Simply amazing place.

Nice simple accomodations. Plenty space for four people. Staff was friendly. Beautiful scenery and centrally located. Great restaurant next door as well as dolphin research center. All in walking distance. Better value than staying in Big pine or Key west yet still beautiful and still close enough to drive to Big pine as well as key west for the day.

25 dollar a day pet fee. I'm use to a pet deposit that you get back when you leave.

We booked last minute through a third party for an unexpected day in the keys. For the rate we got this resort exceeded our expectations! Our room was very spacious and there were a ton of amenities we unfortunately couldn't take advantage of due to our time frame. While the could be some basic updates to the facility such as paint or furniture, overall a great value and we would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful location!! Very clean. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Beautiful pool and well kept. Water was clear and clean. Except for road noise (which is totally out of property’s control), it was very quiet and relaxing. Typical hot Florida weather!! BRING YOUR BUG SPRAY!!

Beds were a little hard,for our preference, but very typical for hotel/motel beds. #20 was our room. Very clean but very small. Would be perfect for 2 adults and 2 SMALL children, but with 10 & 11 year old boys it was cramped. (2 double beds) I really can’t complain, though, as we were offered an upgrade prior to arrival and at arrival, also. I made the mistake by not accepting the offer. The office has short “open hours”, 9-5, so making requests or asking questions,after returning in the evening, was not possible, and I try to respect that. Just a bit frustrating for me.

The pool was fantastic and the outdoor shared areas were beautiful. From landscaping to the ocean view, it was so lovely and peaceful. Our room's air conditioning was perfect and beds were very comfortable. Also, this is a great location and close to many restaurants or activities!

Some minor maintenance or room updates would be good. The inside main door latch came off the wall. There was a soft spot in the shower floor like you may fall in. There were pieces broken off in the shower and painted over, but the paint was peeling off. The shower knob also had a piece broken off. The bathroom door doesn't have a lock. The ramp and deck could be updated, as there were weak areas and broken boards. This is a great older hotel and we really just overlooked it's flaws honestly. We would love to come back.

It was quiet and easy to find. We enjoyed the kayaks and fished from their dock. The pool looked nice but we opted for the ocean instead. It wasn't overly crowded even on the busiest day. The iguanas were fun to watch swim. The rooms do have a full kitchenette with stove and dishes pans and everything you would need for a short stay. They have a nice view of the gulf!

Hate to nit pick, but the shower dripped constantly and the walls are paper thin. Their office is on the second floor so if you are disabled that may be a challenge to check in or out etc. We didn't see the famous tortoise :(.
