Mixed Experience at The Alida – Beautiful Hotel, Severely Understaffed The Alida has a lot going for it—clean rooms, a fresh scent throughout the hotel, incredibly comfortable beds, and thoughtful touches like complimentary water and fruit in the hallways. Rhett’s restaurant was the highlight of our stay—the food was absolutely phenomenal, easily the best I’ve had in years. However, the experience was overshadowed by the hotel being drastically understaffed. When we arrived around 1:30 pm, there was no valet in sight. We waited for a long time before finally handing our keys to the front desk associate. She was juggling everything—checking guests in, running food, answering phones—while the valet was simultaneously trying to assist with luggage and manage front desk responsibilities. It was clear they were both doing their best, but the staffing level simply couldn’t support the guest load. The room itself had a couple of issues—the bathroom doors weren’t properly installed and banged loudly anytime you moved them, which also meant we could hear our neighbors doing the same. The countertops were stained and outdated, but nothing major there. The next morning, we went to make coffee in the room only to find the creamer had expired and ruined the coffee. I called the front desk to request more coffee and fresh creamer, and while they said they’d send it up, it never came—even after nearly an hour of waiting. Bottom line: the staff was clearly trying their hardest, but with such a low headcount, they couldn’t deliver even the most basic amenities they charge for. Until the hotel addresses its staffing issues, it’s hard to justify a premium price tag.

This property had an upscale vibe with outstanding decor from the moment you walked into the lobby. It had a very distinct, whimsical aroma in the air. We were greeted with complimentary champagne, cookies, and signature refillable water bottles. It had a cute little souvenir shop and cruiser style bicycles you could rent for 2hr increments. The food at the Rhett restaurant on the ground floor was immaculate and service was great. The pool area was lovely and clean. I loved the brownstone aesthetic throughout the hotel including inside the rooms. I would definitely book here again.

My family was advised that the pool is closed after dark by security after we were already swimming. I booked a hotel with a pool so we could enjoy a night swim after our adventurous day in Savannah. I would suggest closing time be 11pm. Also when I arrived at the hotel the valet assumed immediately before asking if I was staying there that I wasn’t and advised that the parking was private. One should never make assumptions before gathering details.

The Alida is in an excellent location. The rooms were lovely and spacious. Good bathroom facilities too.

There is a rooftop bar on the top level that opens until 1am on the weekend. We were staying on the floor just below and our room was literally shaking from the music. Fortunately there were lovely staff who moved our room so we could sleep. Definitely request a room on a lower floor! We also found the floor was a bit dirty and hadn’t been swept/vacuumed.

Front desk people were friendly and very accomodating. Sparkling wine and cookies at check in. Rooftop bar Lost Square had terrific hummus sampler and cozy warm seating. Good restaurant for Breakfast too Rhett's.

The AC/Heat could not be set below 66 degrees so the room was not at an ideal temp for sleeping. Windows do not open. Dog fee of $150 was much higher than most and did not come with any special dog stuff except milkbones at the front desk.

The location, friendly staff, and cleanliness of room. Convenience of onsite restaurants and rooftop bar are also a big plus. In addition, you are only a 3 minutes' walk to the Riverfront. This would definitely be my hotel of choice if I return to Savannah.

They could provide more flexibility on the usage of the $32 credit for the resort fee. It can only be used in one place. Also, the pool is a little small. You may be disappointed if you arrive after 10:00 AM on hot day, no seating by the pool.

Love the amenities, especially the water refill station. We are always purchasing water to bring back to hotels in which we stay, and it's an inconvenience. Also love the warm vanilla fragrance in common areas. Feels like home; the steps right outside the hotel leading to River Street are so convenient and safe!

Two employees were a bit rude, one serving at the bar and one working valet. The girl at the bar was using obscene language while speaking to another employee and the valet told me that I should've let him know that I was going to request my car so soon to save him a trip. I tipped him anyway to make a point.

Wonderful hotel, great facilities including external pool and loungers (very clean), gym. Great breakfast. Amazing roof top bar with views over Savannah. Exceptionally helpful staff on reception and in the breakfast dining. Very comfy beds and very large beautifully decorated rooms and bathroom. Great location close to the River Street where there are lots of bars and restaurants. Really loved the hotel and would definitely stay there again if in Savannah.

I loved the access to the river and all the different shops and the different places to eat and hangout

I didn't like that the room was as small as it was for the price. Because it was downtown I get that,and the lighting wasn't great in the room. But it was intimate. Yes we were able to upgrade before hand, and would have if had known. Other than that everything was GREAT. THE RESTAURANTS ON SITE WERE EXCELLENT, ESPECIALLY THE ROOFTOP LOUNGE

Beautiful design, comfortable bed, great ambiance. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool, playing corn hole, dining b the rooftop with live Music and brunch at Rhett restaurant on the premises. We will be back !
