Please keep in mind we are both in our 70's, so these are "old folks" comments. Staff was excellent. Every single person we encountered was bright, friendly, and helpful. That said, we were surprised there was no one available to assist with our luggage. The room was very clean and well maintained. For instance, the AC was loud when we first arrived, and the engineer replaced it immediately. The location is excellent. Walk out the front door, you're on River Street. Walk out the side door, you're in Savannah Market. Parking was convenient, and prompt. Keep in mind it's $45.00 a night.

Things I do not think you can fix. The heavy curtains (not the sheers) actually do not close. They are merely decorative, not functional. Our room overlooked Savannah Market, and the bright light shone into our room right through the sheers all night long. That was annoying. Ironically, when we WERE awake at night, we felt the room was not well lighted. There were a lot of small lamps all around, and the bathroom was quite bright, but even with everything turned on, the room was dim. Some folks might like that ambiance, and/or it might be energy efficient, but we would have liked more light. The balcony was a nice touch, but REALLY small.

They have a small bar but no trained bartender. Most of the front desk staff were not friendly. (Good evening, good morning, a smile, welcome back) just the smallest niceties make a difference.

In the heart of Savannah - we walked everywhere and did not need to use the car. Contemporary and modern room, and we tapped into the pool while we were there. Clean and comfortable with friendly staff

Expensive! Also there are bottles of water in the room - I drank one assuming it was complementary. Nothing to indicate that they were not complementary or that they would cost us. It was a $13 bottle of water apparently as I learned on checkout.

The Hilton Garden Inn is located in/near the historic district of Savannah. It is within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the riverfront. The rooms were spacious, and the staff is friendly. There is a breakfast option, and complimentary coffee and tea is always offered in the lobby. The hotel also offers other amenities...pool, hot tub, mini gym. Close to other hotels in the area.

Downside about the stay and location is, it seems quite deserted in the area at night. There is a good amount of homeless people in the area as well. Did not see a supermarket in the area , closest thing is CVS and Walgreens.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. There was three in particular that just stood out and you could tell enjoyed working with the people. I only wish I would of wrote their names down so the company would recognize them. It was the young man working the evening shift as Valet attendant Thurs and Friday. The young man working the desk check in Thurs night. And the young lady working check out Sat morning. The three of them was a pure joy to come in contact with. The facility was clean and beds very comfortable! Would definitely recommend. Security to the building and the floors was also a plus

Nothing at all to complain about

I will say my husband and I were both surprised to see the junior king was pretty big! The view of the corner was pretty to watch the streets.

The mattress were kinda hard, but that’s personal choice. At the end of our stay. Check out had a issue with the refund. Then we had to wait for the manger. While trying to contain our fussy 2 year old who just wanted to eat. After that the valet parking guy started askin why we didn’t just have someone park our car? I don’t know if it was a supposed to. But we arrived in at 2 am. No one was out there to say other wise.

Room was located on side of busy street that was very noisy all day and night 45 dollar a day was a little much for parking then you had to pay for breakfast if you eat there .Coffee machine didn’t work in room but they had free coffee in dining area Did not realize that you had to turn refrigerator on to get it cold into I checked the unit a day later

Convenient, clean

The valet parking is horrible & confusing. One of our major down falls. They need to fix the whole system.. it's terrible. Also, our 1st night was so noisy, next door was carrying on in the hallway & there room till 3:30am. Was ridiculous

Location, staff and comfort.

the A/C in the food area makes your food go cold so fast . Couldn’t get a hot cup of coffee, it was Luke warm by the time I got cream and sugar in it cup. The parking was really crazy you must get a better system, the attendees are real nice but their parking system is not thought out.

The hotel location was perfect! The staff, room itself, and facilities were lovely. This will definitely be our new hotel of choice while visiting Savannah.

Parking was very high $42 a night, the way the valets word it, it almost seems like you have to pay it to stay at the hotel. We opted to park in a parking garage that was one block over. It was $5 a day and a much better option for us. The hotel has a 50$ per night hold for incedentals, that was also a little surprising at first, on top of the expensive room, so just keep that in mind if you book here. Breakfast is also pricey, I believe it was $15 per person. We ate at a few local places that were more affordable.
