I loved the location of this hotel as it is very serene being on the water. Town is a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive. Other points of interest are a short drive away. Everything was clean and our room was comfortable. We utilized the mini fridge (bring your own beverages), coffee maker (complimentary) and microwave in the room.Three of us shared a smaller room with a balcony. We had room to sit, chat and relax. Sitting out by the fire pit was a relaxing way to spend the evening. Bring your own firewood and bug spray.

There is a very narrow timeframe in which to reach housekeeping/front desk. I would not recommend staying here if you have younger children unless you are renting one of the cottages.

Location and view were both amazing from the main lodge. Room was clean and well kept, but could have used a few more kitchen supplies. Do not expect to be able to cook full meals here. Town was an easy walk. Lots of things to do within 20 minutes, could easily base a 3-4 day weekend from here. Wifi was excellent.

Onsite restaurant was massively overpriced for what you get. Make the walk into Wiscasset town, or drive over to Damariscotta for far better and cheaper options. Not a lot of hot water here so shower quickly and leave space between people, plan your showers ahead for large groups. No fault of the property's but fair warning, be careful turning into this place, as people are speeding up coming off the bridge or don't want to slow down coming down the hill.

Loved that the room had a view and spa tub. Loved that it had a sofa where we sat and admired the view and watched tv. We didn't hear any noise from other guests at all. Parking was easy/convenient. View was such a great bonus. Bed was comfortable. LOVED the shower pressure and spa tub. Room decor was just as I like it--clean and comfortable with a classic "Cape" look. Easy check-in service and they extended our check out time so we could watch the World Cup game in our room. This was very kind as we were otherwise going to seek out a sports bar at 10 am in Portland to watch the game. I loved the complimentary breakfasts at Woodsong Market--tea or coffee and a fresh baked pastry. I almost missed this gem because coffee and pastry at other hotels is often very missable. Don't miss it!! Actually go and get an organic jasmine or oolong or chocolate tea and blueberry muffin or scone or cinnamon bun, etc. etc. While there, I also picked up a WONDERFUL chicken salad on a marble rye bagel for lunch and bought some cute Maine souvenirs. The staff there were SO lovely. Loved the restaurant on the premises. One night they had a real wood fire going and we got a table right in front. And the next night they had live music--such a treat. Both nights, I got the small salad with a very generous salmon portion and the waitstaff was lovely.

The drain on the bathtub wasn't working properly but was easy to just use the wrapping from the plastic cup and a soap holder to improvise a fix...so not a problem. We didn't even tell them at the time because it wasn't a problem that needed urgent fixing...but I'll send an email now. Also, I LOVED the bathroom fan that blew hot air in the bathroom from up above (looks like a timer on the wall) but the hot part only worked for like first 3 minutes in our room and then the fan automatically shut off. Not sure if that's how it was supposed to be. It was an added bonus to begin with...not a necessity or expectation. But if you have one...USE it. Such a nice treat!

This is a delightful a place to stay. It's right on the main US 1 artery. Wiscasset, with its popular clam shacks, was just across the river, and the bustling town of Damariscotta was quite close. Our suite was freshly renovated and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well-equipped. Everything was thoroughly spiffy.

The location near US 1 has a down-side in that getting to beaches of interest involved a 20-30 minute drive. Also, the free-standing resort location means that getting to any commercial activity, even the popular clam shacks across the river in Wiscasset, requires a drive in the car. It also means that some of the rooms have exposure to the highway traffic noise. In this regard, travelers should be aware in making a specific reservation that the situation of the suites varies significantly. The best are on upper floors of isolated cottages with water views, but others face onto the parking lot and highway, or (like ours) are in an almost-basement setting looking out on an earthen embankment.

The location was perfect for our plans. The room was clean and comfy. The view was wonderful.

There was family members that where visiting a staff member and were taking up the entire lobby. The receptionist didn't even notice us standing there because they couldn't see around them. The visitors were taken into what appeared to be an office so we could be checked in which was easy once we got it started.

Breakfast was very sparse, just coffee, muffins and some fruit so we just made coffee in the room. Views from the veranda were spectacular, especially at sunset. The facility is close to the beaches and the town of Damariscotta which has several good restaurants and some shopping.

Room service is on an as requested basis, no daily chambermaid services. Soundproofing could also have been better.

Room was a good size and comfortable. Amazing view over the river. Breakfast vouchers given for use at Woodsong Market, just across the road. Who serve great coffee and tea and have a good selection of baked goods. Fairly central for investigating mid coast Maine (although you do need a car).

Room was booked for four people but only provided towels for two, so had to go to reception to get more, also the toaster did not work. Not an issue with Sheepscot its self, but word of warning restaurants and food outlets close early in the area and surrounding towns/areas and this was in August!

The View from our room was to die for! we even got lucky enough to see a spectacular sunset across the river. the Water’s Edge restaurant next door was delightful with a great view as well. i wish we had realized earlier they have free kayak rentals!

Honestly the pluses dad out weight the minuses, but if I’m going to nitpick- there are a lot of small little touches that could use fixing like needing some kind is sunshade on either door (the sun is a rude awakening in the morning). the door to the porch has a note to be careful to not get locked out that could be easily fixed by using a dead bolt instead.

Great location and view! beautiful room, comfortable and clean! The only drawback was the jetted tub didn’t work but they may not have been aware so we let them know.

The current updates will be beautiful but the bare wood floor was a bit noisy in the hall and we were near the stairs and entrance so it was a little noisy.

The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. It's very close dining, shopping, and spectacular scenery. The staff as wonderful in assisting us with the check-in. We have stayed there before, and will be returning in 2 weeks!

There's nothing we didn't like other than the refrigerator was set too cold (my Gatorade had ice in it after an overnight stay :) ). I adjusted it.
