I booked this hotel looking to save a few bucks relative to the hotels I have stayed at in Boston in the past, like the Fairmont, the Liberty and the Intercontinental. The Copley square hotel was less than half the cost of these. I came to Boston to visit my daughter and see the city. I didn't care if the hotel had a gym or restaurant because I knew i'd get plenty of exercise walking everywhere and I didn't plan on eating there. I didn't go into the restaurant though I looked at the menu and it looked really good. In all honesty the caliber of the restaurant seems a bit better than the caliber of the hotel. I was looking for something less expensive this trip so I'd have more money to put towards meals and experiences outside the hotel, i.e. museums, shows, I rented a car for a day so we could day trip, etc. If your'e here to see Boston on a vacation or look at schools, this hotel is ideally located. The location is fantastic for a visit to Boston actually. The lobby is almost nonexistent, it is not a luxurious hotel, it is not brimming with amenities. The " fitness center" has one treadmill. But Boston was my fitness center. I logged about 10 miles a day walking. There is a washer / dryer you can use which can be handy and there is a small communal kitchen, which I would have only used for the microwave, but it is there if you need it. The rooms themselves aren't the biggest but they aren't cramped, at least the double double I stayed in wasn't. I wasn't planing on ballroom dancing in the room so It was perfectly fine. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the beds had nice fluffy comforters. The room and bathroom were clean and cute. The shampoo/ shower gel/ lotion provided had a beautiful lavender smell that someone actually complimented me on when I was out and about. The bathroom was up to date, not old or dirty. I plan on staying here again.

For myself, no complaints. Understand that the hotel restaurant is only open at night. There are next to no amenities. That includes no coffee maker in your room. Go out and enjoy the city of Boston. Go to a local place for your coffee. It will be a five minute walk.

Room 617. Kingsize bed. Room size was acceptable. Bathroom was very small. But it met all of our needs. We were surprised that there were no hooks and only one towel bar to hang wet/used towels. Nor were there signs regarding use of towels and re-use as we have seen in most of the hotels on the West Coast. For economics and the environment, those hotels ask that guests re-use towels by hanging them to dry on the many hooks/towel bars and if guests want fresh towels on any given day, to leave their used towels on the floor. So at Copley Square we got fresh towels every single day, which as a very pleasant and welcomed surprise. Also, every single staff member we came across, no matter how far away they were in the hallway, greeted us with a 'good morning', 'have a nice stay', etc., AND a warm smile. One gentlemen commented to me after seeing me several days in a row working out in the exercise room that next time I was there, if I needed water to let him know and he would bring me some. So thoughtful and kind. Every single staff member was very welcoming, friendly, and customer service oriented... unlike some of the other people we ran across in our exploring of Boston for a week. Highly recommend this hotel! Also, even though there was no microwave in our room, there was a guest kitchen with a microwave, free coffee/cappucinos/espresso, paper plates, plastic utensils, etc.... that was very CONVENIENT and thoughtful of the hotel to provide us with those. We had leftovers many nights and all of the kitchen amenities came in very handy. Thank you for that! Staff at the front desk were also very helpful with recommendations for what to see, where to eat, etc.

The exercise room temperature was set pretty high for people working out. I recommend a temp of 67 or so rather than 75 degrees.

The room was small but neat and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was lovely with really nice personal products. The complimentary water was a nice touch, and there was also a refrigerator. I really liked the Boston-themed wallpaper in the bathroom and the original stairway was beautiful. We walked down from the fourth floor every time.

I would have preferred a coffee maker in the room but the kitchenette downstairs did provide free tea, hot water and cups. I didn't expect much of a view -- and didn't get one -- but would have liked a screen in the one small window to allow in fresh air. We did open it for short periods but closed it when we were gone, as there were obvious indications of birds using the sill.

Location! The hotel is near back bay train and subway station (Amtrak and orange line, respectively), as well as Copley Place Mall and Prudential center. Back bay station can be easly underground accessed through Copley Place Mall. At the hotel side there is a great market (Star Market) that you can easily buy food and drinks. In the back bay station you can get the subway to downtown and the main Boston neighborhoods easily. The room was large and the heating system was working well and silently. There was a refrigerator and safe in the room. Beds and bath were comfortable and the staff very attentive.

The hotel do not offer breakfast and there was no coffee maker in the room.

This hotel is outstanding . It seems like a vintage hotel from outside to the core. Great decorations and charming colors and atmosphere. Rooms were spacious. A very functional refrigerator. A bathtub. Very comfortable bed that made me want to get one in my home. There is a common area for eating that contains tables, microwave, plastic utensils and the surprise is that coffee and hot beverages were served in it all day long and it was a very good coffee. The location of the hotel is great in a very stylish street close to the Back bay station and walkable to downtown with a large supermarket just a minute walk.

The bed was comfortable and fitted out with good basic bedding, the little desk, desk chair and desk lamp provided enough room and visibility for reading and correspondence, the closet was suitably roomy and supplied with sturdy hangers, ironing board and luggage rack, and the bathroom was nicely finished with an attractive and generous sink, spacious and easily used tub/shower, and an adequate toilet. The room was attractively furnished, quiet and effectively air conditioned.

A radio would have been a nice amenity, an easy chair would have been welcomed, and dresser-type drawers for clothing would have been convenient.

Location is perfect for work in downtown Boston. Very easy access to Prudential Center (5 min walk to back entrance), Hynes convention center and to plenty of shops and restaurants. The public library is around the corner. The Logan express stops are 1.5 blocks away so it is very easy to access to/from airport. Staff was very kind, rooms were spotless and the guest kitchenette in the ground floor is a great service (microwave, coffee/tea machine, sink and tables).

A few extra plugs in the rooms would be desirable. I would also recommend adding small shelving and extra towel hooks in the bathroom.

The location is fantastic - right in the heart of Back Bay - making this hotel good value for money. My room was a decent size with a desk and chair, closet and luggage rack making it a great pied-a-terre for my four-day trip. The reception and housekeeping staff were friendly and the housekeeping staff does an excellent job - my room was spotless and they made the bed and tidied / cleaned the bathroom each day.

Although this hotel has been nicely renovated, the infrastructure is old. The heating is quite loud when it turns on / off which woke me up multiple times each night. There was only one rather dim overhead light above the bed (apart from bedside lamps) so I couldn't really use the full-length mirror / easily find things in my suitcase at night. There is only one elevator so there's a bit of a wait each time - and the elevator broke down on the second day of my trip, luckily we could use the backup original elevator instead. Lastly, the housekeeping staff (who did an awesome job with the rooms) loudly called out to each other in the hallway from 7:30am - noting as this is a quick fix that could enhance guests' experience at the hotel.

I loved the location and ease of getting there. My room was clean and cozy but had everything I needed. Bathroom was tight but worked great. Having a fridge in the room was a bonus and being able to open the window to let air in was nice.

My room was on the 4th floor and faced teh side of the street with the dumpsters which are picked up in the middle of the night. I woke every night to noises below when glass bottles were thrown into the trash. Room was a little warm and you can't adjust the thermostat in the room.

The bed was outstanding and the room very spacious and well equipped. Location was excellent for attending conference: easy to get to on foot from airport shuttle and short walk to the many hotels for the conference center. The price was competitive for Boston prices. Staff at the front desk were helpful with printing items and checking my bags for the final day. There was a coffee machine in the basement that provided drinkable coffee

limited breakfast options that didn't require a walk of some sort.
