Favorite place to stay in GR. Several food options inside allow you not to freeze when it’s -7. It also has a skywalk attached to DeVos Performance Hall, so it’s very convenient when catching a show there. The location is great with winter activities, like ice skating, mini curling, etc. and a lot of restaurants surrounding. The valet services cannot be beat. They’re beyond helpful, especially when you have to leave very early as they’ll have your car waiting for you.

I like everything. I’d choose the charm of the Pantlind over the modernity of the tower. You’re paying for the convenience and reputation of the hotel. It will never be a bargain.

The staff was spectacular! Very helpful with everything. We are very familiar with the amway and location so it is exactly what we wanted for a little get away.

The room that we booked was never available even though booking said it was which has now happened at 3 locations so we will not be using booking.com again. The room that we stayed in was small, the bathroom didnt have enough room for toiletries, the Bed was a rock and the sheets were like sandpaper. To the point that my wife had basically rug burn on her face from the pillow. We will not be staying at the Amway again.

This is not an AI-written review. True to its name, the Amway Grand is an opulent, stunning hotel in the heart of Grand Rapids. Its architectural style is French classical and baroque, a remnant of the time it was The Paintlind Hotel until 1981. You see the gold leaf-lined ceiling in the lobby. The rooms are grand and exceptionally clean. The customer service is excellent. Valet parking was efficient. You have access to The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, Rendezvous bar, Ruth's Steakhouse and a Starbucks all within the extensive hotel. They also have a beautiful gift shop and a boutique. They are also pet-friendly.

Although pet-friendly, I would have preferred at least a small grass patch near the hotel's back entrance. the nearest patch is a 2-minute walk away in Rosa Park's circle, not ideal if you have an older dog.

It's a beautiful place, I had fun exploring the reception and ballroom areas. I requested a room as high up in the tower as was available and the staff at check-in were happy to accommodate this request and give suggestions on nearby places my 13y.o. daughter might like exploring. We were there to celebrate her birthday. Several of the tower rooms facing the river are set up to give corner views and the view was amazing. The hotel itself has a cool bowling type lounge, a couple nice/fancy restaurants and some upscale shops. None of these appealed to my daughter but there is so much within walking distance it wasn't a problem. We had a great time renting scooters and she loved the food and atmosphere at Stella's Lounge. The pool was nice but not as special as I had expected for a rooftop pool. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was delicious, no complaints. Because it's so expensive, to me it's not worth going unless it's a really special event but if that's what you are looking for this is the place.

The staff is always exceedingly professional and lovely. The room is clean and we used the pool and hot tub, which were also clean. At check-in, we were invited to join the Hilton Rewards program and because we decided to, they upgraded us to a suite! It was an incredible (and generous) surprise.

The ONLY small thing was that we were invited to enjoy the bottled waters in the room free of charge (because we were upgraded to a suite) however we didn't have any in our room. Truly not a big deal- I know if we had called and asked, we would have received them immediately.

The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows allowed me to sleep all night. The view from the window was oversaw by the waterfront very good. There was very little noise from other guests throughout the night. The maid service was excellent..

The bathroom sink had fine crack on the inside bottom, recommend replacement. Construction was ongoing inside the hotel and outside the hotel which was inconvenient getting around the conference rooms on first and second floors.

I loved the view and the location. We were able to walk to our destination. We were able to walk to find dinner and breakfast was right in the building. Beautiful facility. Friendly staff even other guests staying were friendly. It was a lovely stay. Very affordable and comfortable. I do wish they had had an extra blanket on the closet shelf instead of an extra pillow but the lack of one did not stop me from sleeping. Our room was quiet, we never heard any of our fellow guests staying in the other rooms. I hope to stay again some day.

This was my first stay here, they set the bar pretty high for any follow up stays I have here. I was a little disappointed that there was not a tub in the bathroom, only a shower. Also, another packet of coffee would have been nice. There were three of us staying and only two packets of coffee for the morning.

The only thing that could be a problem was that our shower door didn't have any kind of seal on it to prevent water from leaking out. It didn't bother me at all, I just threw a towel down on the floor. But I can see where if someone didn't realize it, they could slip and fall as the tile is slippery when wet. I am not sure if all the shower doors are that way, but it would be a good idea to seal that somehow. Other than that tiny issue, our stay was exceptional, and I'll definitely be back!

Booking.com gave us a total price of $243 for the room and we were billed $270 total for the room. Also I think hotels should have an earlier check in time. It doesn’t give you time to enjoy the room when you are coming for an event. We checked in just before 4 and the event started at 6. We only had enough time to get something to eat and go to the venue.

The room was enourmous, the beds cushy. Super clean. Felt very swanky and posh. Plus we loved the character of the old Pantlind side of the hotel. We kind of felt like we went back in time!

The only complaint I have is parking is expensive, but I think that is to be expected in any larger city with a little more upscale hotel.
