December 2024

I travel a lot for work. Probably too much. In 2024 I stayed in over 50 different hotels, motels and inns. I’ve stayed in amazing places and places where I wasn’t sure I would wake up in the morning. I say that, to say this: Bling Tiger Inn was absolutely the best overnight experience (we stayed two nights) I’ve had this year and probably in the last 5 years. Let me tell you why. 1. It’s such a great location. Close to everything you could need. 2. The Inn itself is such a unique place. When you walk in you feel like you’re coming home. 3. Each room is unique and awesome in its own way. I’m here with my wife for a weekend away at the Biltmore and our room has a fireplace and a seating area! 4. Super comfortable bed! 5. Really Clean 6. No TV. Hear me out. We spend too much time watching TV. This has really allowed us to connect and actually talk and it has been amazing. 7. The coffee machine is incredible, whatever you could want. It will make it for you. (7a they make sure the bar and snack area is well stocked and it’s all included. Just don’t take it all and ruin it for the rest of us) 8. Their response time is incredible and they’re super attentive to your needs. 9. They actually have a key to your room. Like a KEY you would have on your keychain. That was a small detail but awesome. 10. They had sound machines, fans, bluetooth speakers and other things you need just in case you forgot anything. I could go on. There were so many things that made this a great experience. I’m hesitant to share how amazing this place is because I don’t want them to be booked the next time we want to stay there but it would be a real shame to keep this gem from you. Run, don’t walk, to stay at the Blind Tiger Inn!

My stay could’ve been longer!

The property is generally very nice even if they're going with a ghost-staffing model. Loved the fireplace and super-glamorous bathroom in our room. (Curate.) Check-in and check-out were super-easy. We took snacks with us for the road. There are some restaurants walkable from the location, and the neighborhood felt safe after dark, even if it's about half professional offices.

The room had two basic issues: Couldn't figure out how to make the climate control work so had to rely on the gas fireplace for warmth. Also, wine cooler's compressor rattled loudly at times. Lesser dislikes: Mattress was pretty broken down, and the sleeper sofa was nearly impossible to get up from a standing position. Grab-and-go breakfast was just OK.

This is one of these rare places that is just a lovely inside as the pictures. It definitely lives up to expectations. The snack pantry and drink selection were great. We stayed in the Vireo room and really enjoyed the extra space/sunroom area. We didn’t know what to expect from the bathroom as there were no pictures of it - but we found it to be a good size with a great shower. Location wise, this is in a lovely walkable neighborhood. You can walk to multiple restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores.

The grab and go breakfast was a little disappointing. It was nothing like the website picture.

Shared spaces are very cool. They offer a wide variety of convenient things like snacks, drinks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mocktail mixes, etc. I enjoyed our private entrance and they have a peaceful little walk through area in the garden where you can sit and hang out. We were here for one night for our honeymoon and they went out of their way to give us a little bag, a note and cute rose petals on the bed. We did really appreciate that. Overall, we really enjoyed our time. I did like the paper with local options for dinner, outings, etc. I have just gotten a lot more for that amount but it was good. It’s a good location.

I feel like our bedroom could use a little more thought decoration wise. It’s simple but almost creepy simple. Lamp on the floor next to the bed, a random spread of chairs, paintings sitting on the floor unhung, water damage around our fridge. There also wasn’t any trash bags or anything available for us to clean up our mess, but they were very accommodating so I’m sure they would’ve given if I had asked. Our room was very hot. The mini split isn’t enough for that space (proper). Grace brought us a box fan but I still sweat through the night. The air was very thick when we got in. Assuming they turn off AC when guests aren’t in. Smelled like lots of paint over old wood.

B&B was really comfortable and quite, even when full of guests. I loved the snack cabinet, for that little between meal snack or midnight pick-me-up. Would definitely stay again.

There wasn't a TV in our room, for us that isn't a drawback, but if you are a sport or news nut it may be an issue. Breakfast was more snacky, with things like english muffins, it was good to grab and go - but if you are looking for a hot sit down breakfast this isn't it. It worked well for us, but I could see it being an issue for folks used to more traditional B&B fair.

The Blind Tiger is based on an unassuming street without flashy lights or large lobbies. Inside, it feels like you have stepped into a mid century house and are house sitting for a friend with a few other strangers. There are curated selection of snacks and drinks on hand discreetly behind the bar. Fireplace roars in different rooms on the ground floor which serve as a dining/gathering area. Each spot can be used to either quietly read, play games, warm yourself by the fire or take great portraits and fashion photos. Rooms are unique, well furnished and full of old world charm. They are cozy and furnished with lovingly maintained old style furnishings. A few creaks in the floor & the occasional stuck door jamb end up adding to the ambience rather than taking from it.

The hotel has no sign, which might make you miss it when you first arrive.. There are no heavy food options. My only pet peeve is, as a design choice, the books that adorn this hotel in rooms, lobbies and tables all have their covers removed, which bugs the F out of me.

Loved how eclectic and fun it was decorated. Tristan was very welcoming and did a great job showing us around . We had a long trip and the comfy bed was welcoming!

The only thing I would have liked would have been a television in our room … we were tired and would have loved to watch a movie and unwind. The bathroom was wonderful but the shower was hard to work and did not have great water pressure …also A/C could have been a little better

Stunning ! I would not hesitate to recommend The Blind Tiger. Well situated for enjoying Asheville - downtown is a short walk. The property itself is quite remarkable - comfortable and beautifully decorated, adorned with fabulous art pieces. Parking is easy. The breakfast is a 'help yourself' affair with a good selection.

Nothing - a perfect stay

Breakfast was healthy. Great snack pantry. Excellent coffee/tea. Plush towels, comfortable bed, doft sheets. Nice outdoor area and siting area in tge main house.

Have fans in the rooms and or keep the radiator heat lower temp and use the portable room hesters as needed. The radiator heat was too hot as the weather was unseasonably warm. They did drop the temp the next morning when we informed them. We stayed in suite 2

I loved all of the food plus snack options available to grab on the way up to the room or when leaving.

One thing I didn’t like was the difficulty finding outlets in the room to charge the screens, etc.. My other dislike was the lighting in the room. Needs better lamp light.
