Though I loved this Hostel, here are my suggestions on what could be improved: - Shower Issues: Though the bathrooms are clean and spacious, the low water pressure and lukewarm hot water made showers less comfortable. - Self-Service Bed Setup: Collecting towels and linens at check-in felt inconvenient after a long journey. - No Lift: Carrying luggage up four floors was exhausting. - Outdated Plugs: Adding Type-C plug options would better serve for travellers. - Water Filters: Installing filters on each floor would save guests from hauling water bottles upstairs. - Dorm Privacy: Adding bed curtains would enhance privacy and create a pod-like feel. - Bed Quality: Squeaky beds disrupted sleep—regular maintenance is needed.

First of all, the four days we spent in Philadelphia with my friend were great and one of the reasons for this was the friendly people we met in the hostel. Everyone working in the hostel was very friendly, especially Gamze, who helped us with everything and gave us tips about the city and had a great conversation. She was very sincere and friendly. Since the hostel is close to the city center, we did not use any public transportation and there are markets and restaurants near the hostel. The hostel was clean and fun. In the evening, everyone met each other and chatted. I am sure that if I come to Philadelphia again, I will stay in this hostel again. Thank you to everyone who was helpful.

Overall the stay was very positive. Every day the facility plans something that makes it possible to create bonds and friendships even for those traveling alone. I was particularly impressed by the staff, all very friendly and helpful. Among these, in my trip, João stands out without a doubt, who welcomed me upon my arrival, taking care of my check-in and helping me with my luggage, and Pablo with his cordiality always available for advice on what to visit and how to appreciate Philly as much as possible. Both really sunny, they are able to bring at least one smile to people's faces every day for the entire duration of their stay. If I were to return to Philadelphia I would choose this hostel again, for sure.

The location was great, many tourist spots, if not all, were in walkable distance. The rooms were nice and even though we had to keep the windows open, it was relatively quiet outside. The kitchen was clean and the people were really friendly! The were some events for most evenings like pub tours or an open bar for half an hour, that was pretty nice!

There is no elevator which can be very annoying if you have heavy luggage like I had. Luckily I only had to go to the second floor, and I think there are only 3-4 floors, but still this is something to consider as I had some trouble getting my luggage to my room.

I enjoyed staying here so much that I stayed another night and booked a single room which was really nice, spacious and comfortable. The female bathrooms were on another floor but it wasn't too bad because the stairs to it were right out front. They gave you clean sheets and a clean towel when you check in. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. There was some noise outside on the streets randomly or outside in the hallway but it wasn't too bad plus, it wasn't located on a main street where you'd here a lot of traffic. I'm not sure if I went during off season but the noise wasn't too bad at all. I didn't utilize the common area for my short stay but it seemed really cool. Loved the decor and expose brick. Nice staff too. Didn't have any problems and it was an enjoyable and very comfortable stay and would definitely recommend this place.

no elevator only stairs. It seems that the hostel is splint into two buildings but I was lucky to just stay in the same building as check in. You have to make your own sheets and then take them all back down to check out/check in. It can be a problem when you have a lot of luggage and you have to carry your sheets and towels at the same time. I had to put a $100 deposit for booking a private room and i was worried I wouldn't get refunded and some of the staff were a little unsure when I would get the refund. I eventually did though after 2 days which worked out fine but it just made me nervous.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The lounge and communal areas were super comfy with nice sofas and chill out spaces. Really appreciated the free tea and coffee available, so it was nice spending time chilling in the lounge with a coffee. I was only staying one night but it looked like there were events on each night - the night I was there was a ghost tour with free beers afterwards; it sounded really good when talking about it, though unfortunately I didn't do it as only in Philly the one night - wish I'd done it. The room and bathrooms were very clean. Free luggage storage very handy. Right next to all of the historical sites. It had a friendly chill vibe, would definitely stay again if I was back in Philly.

Probably a little picky, but as I'd arrived quite late and booked a private room because I knew I'd be super tired, it was a little annoying having to make up my own double bed. When staying in a dorm I'd expect to make my own bed, but when choosing to spend extra for a private room, I would have thought the bed sheets to be already made. Wouldn't put me off staying again, but given the price difference between a dorm and private room, I'd probably opt to book a dorm instead if I did it again.

This is a great budget option in the historical district. Location is close to a bunch of museums and sights as well as restaurants and bars and easy to reach by metro and bus. It was easy to get to the rest of Philadelphia. I booked the family room for myself so obviously I had plenty of space. I also found the bed extremely comfortable and slept really well there. The hostel kitchen is spacious and usually not crowded, so there is room to prepare meals. There's also a vending machine if needed and a pool table and board games. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It was really useful to be able to do laundry for 5$ including detergent.

Biggest downside was no elevator so had to lug my bag up 2 flights. Also it's sometimes loud (it is a hostel) and the fridge was packed with food so it was hard to find space in it.

Even though bathroom looked clean one toilet area must of had older lady with poor urine incontinence sitting in urinal area had smell of old urine smell, if staff could leave some cleaning supplies nearby I would of sprayed down toilet seat area before sitting to wipe up dried urine. Then the walking area of west side lobby has stale smell there's no carpetsor rugs, but why and how does it smell like that it never did all the several years I love the place no matter if it's not PERFECT OTHERWISE I WOULD RATE IT 5 STARS...HOTELS CAN AND DO HAVE MUSTY SMELLING RUGS AND YOU PAY A FORTUNE FOR ONE NIGHT AT THAT PRICE YOU CAN STAY 5 NIGHTS AT ROCKYS MANSION..LOL

The property was easy to locate very clean and bright . The toilet and shower area was spotless .I liked that the toilet and shower area were in different rooms it ment they were never to busy and provided extra privacy. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and had a great sleep only negative was dorm got a little stuffy during the night with 6 guests good to have lockable lockers in dorm.The staff were exceptional friendly and helpful a girl from Istanbul always stopped to chat and see how my stay was .Michael went above and beyond with all the guests his local knowledge and genuine interest in the visiting guests have insured that I will be booking my next stay in Philly at the Apple hostel.

Very little ! Dorm needs more fresh air with six adults in a room it got hot and stuffy.

For a hostel at this price, it really exceeded my expectations. It had all the facilities I could ask for (including ironing board, free tea and creamer, shower gel, etc.). Even location-wise, it was situated in the Old city of Philadelphia which was a walking distance from the museums and almost all the tourist attractions I was interested in. Even the staff members were really helpful. It also organised special evenings for the hostel guests (I couldn't attend any because of work, but they were very thoughtful).
